Oh my heart - those chargrilled oysters! Acme has the best. It’s nice to see the different selections than the normal ones. The Court of Two Sisters brings back some awesome memories!
This is such a great video...so much fun to watch, and you describe everything perfectly...you hit on most of the real classics from New Orleans too...I wish this video was an hour long. Hope you'll come back and make another one. Loved watching this. Saved to favorite vids.
My husband and I visited New Orleans for the first time in March 2021. We ate dinner at The Court of The Two Sisters and enjoyed our dinner. I agree with you. It is an awesome place to eat dinner.
What fun! I love to take food tours. My 1st tour I did was in Key West and then on Maui. Fantastic fun and great for meeting new people. Thanks for sharing!
Looks like an interesting food tour, but Oceana's really got my attention!! Everything looked delish!! Remember that place for '23 VE precruise dining place!!
That all looked so so good! I do not know if you ever watch Kara and Nate... but their last posted video was from the East Coast and crabbing and some HUGE!!! Crab cakes... thought you may want to check them out. But now I am hungry... thanks a lot.
Good Video. I used to follow you both when you did the cruise tips. Being a teenager in the 70's, I liked when you had your long hair :). Mine was down to the middle of my back. Now I am bald :(. I agree with you regarding Oceana Grill. My son and I Love that place. We are torn between Oceana and The Gumbo Shop where the GM is a friend, but I have to say Oceana is better. We LOVE NO Cookery. We go there for the Happy Hour and to see Sal. The oysters are off the hook. Just a suggestion since you said you go to NO a lot. There are SO MANY wonderful restaurants in The French Quarter. I suggest you try The Pelican Club, Irene's, and Mambo's. Going to NO in March 2023, can't wait
If you haven't already PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, TRY MURIEL'S on Jackson Square!!! It is TO DIE FOR! We went over two years ago and all we ever talk about is the food there, it is absolutely delicious ESPECIALLY the bread pudding!!
@@cajunlady4893 We all ordered different things from the prefix menu and there were no complaints! The shrimp and grits were delicious! (I haven't had them anywhere else out of fear they won't be as good) and all the dessert was amazing, but the bread pudding is to DIE for!!
My friend owns Market cafe so I've been there countless times. So many good dishes. I recommend a taste of "New Orleans" as it has a cup of; gumbo, jambalaya and red beans and rice. The shrimp is amazing also. I used to work next door at Gazebo Cafe. Go to MRB for charbroiled oysters. Turtle Bay for great pub food on Decatur St. You don't have to spend alot of $$$ for food in New Orleans, because even your local dive bar has good food.
Looks amazing! We were supposed to be cruising out of NOLA in August. Now my husband won’t get back from his deployment in time, so whether or not cruises resume, we’ll miss out on NOLA once again. Every time we plan a trip there something gets in the way, all the way back to Katrina changing our honeymoon plans. 🤦🏼♀️
Way, way back in 1999, we had brunch at the Court of the Two Sisters. Left there absolutely full and satisfied. Just happens that we were treated to a lesson in the proper eating of Crawfish while we dined. Fantastic place ! 😋👍👍👍
I had heard about the Court of the 2 sisters. One time when I was in New Orleans we ate at Arnauds. It was so fancy. The food was excellent. I had pralines at a shop near our Hotel in the French Quarter. So good. Had a hurricane at Pat O'Brien 's. We sat out in the courtyard. Jason I was wondering where the actual house was from the song House of the rising sun. So thank you for pointing it out.
I am gonna have to just fly to New Orleans just to do the food tour. They have restaurants around here called Razoos and they have fried alligator bites and they are good.
Laura (and Dave too) really want to visit Laura's Candy store! Question: our palette is that we don't like spicy foods. Are there choices at restaurants in places like NOLA that can cater to those of us that prefer ultra mild cuisine, but still get a bit of the local flavors?
Authentic Cajun food is not cooked Spicy Hot... Like Mexican food. Cajun food is made with flavorful herbs and spices such as Onions, Celery, Garlic and Parsley. Yes Cajuns sometimes add hot sauce & filé to their bowl of gumbo or jambalaya. The hot sauce use most is homemade: Small assorted colorful hot peppers in a bottle of vinegar.
I was in New Orleans last week for one night, 5/27, we ate at Mothers because someone with said they had the best Po Boys, they were good, then we headed up to Nashville and Memphis then back to Lake Charles where I missed Blackberry Smoke by one day 🥲
Cajun brown jambalaya made with shrimp only is so good! My mom made the Best ever!!!! BIG AL'S, & the one served at Southdown Plantation festivals in Houma are very close to my mom's Jambalaya. 😎👍
This is probably a really dumb question - but I can't do spicy of any kind (my body rejects it). I love watching your food videos especially when Jason is cooking, but I worried that the spice might be too much for me when I am in NOLA for the 2023 cruise. My question is - is there yummy good tasting food that doesn't have all the spice (heat)?
Sorry for just responding so I hope we didn’t miss your trip! Try Rosie Jo’s for great Louisiana food, BJ’s is incredible pizza and Spirits is a little bit of everything and really good.
I’m taking my fiancé and we have a food tour scheduled. I was wondering if the food is included in the $100 per person price or do we have to pay for the food.
Hi hunny long time sub here. If you have not done so already PLEASE get your thyroid checked out. You have all the signs of issue. Sorry if your aware already tell Jayson just looking out.

Good video food 😊 like 👍❤️
I will only eat raw oysters in NOLA. Jason has it right. So much good food. They are the best. I can't wait to visit soon. Thanks for the great video.

One of my favorite places for eating delicious food-NOLA. My husband drove me to NOLA for dinner on my birthday (from SA, TEXAS)
Wow

Did you find anywhere that had Red Beans & Rice, Jambalaya and Alligator as a sampler platter?
Ever time we have been to New Orleans it’s Al way’s rained.

If u add a shot of orange juice to your margarita, it helps with margarita face! Lol🧃
Yummy 😋🤤 😋
You should share your jambalaya recipe on your cooking channel.

What hotels are around the center of where you did your food tour and the two restaurants y'all ate at?
All of the hotels in the French Quarter are nice, there are tons of them. We like staying on Canal St.
