  • Today we go through the Walkthrough, Set Up and Modifications we've done on the Alumacraft Competitor 205 Tiller as Professional Fishing Guides and Installers at Angling Outfitters. This gives a look into a more extensive view into how to set its up and modifications we've done. We've had this boat for just over a year now. This is how we set it up for our multi species trips.
Also at Angling Outfitters, we do professional boat installs for Customers and Clients. We install everything from Electronics, Down Riggers to Trolling motors. Basically any accessory you can buy for a fishing boat, we've installed on a boat.
We've had several requests to make a video like this with a lot of people requesting to see how to set its up, the installations we've done, install locations for various items in the boat and the reasonings why.

Nice rig. What seat/post did you mount on the front deck?

Springfield plug in, and it had the stock alumacraft bicycle seat but I switched it out for the bass pro one. The stock one was too uncomfortable. Looks beautiful but still feels too hard

I am currently setting up my rig and was told to leave the transducer's away from the boarding ladder. Your ducers are right by the ladder, why didn't you put below the kicker? Also, I am debating between the Troll Master 3+ or i-Troll. Any pointers would be much appreciated. TIA!

I don't have any experience with the I-troll, I was recommended the troll master and most in my area go with that. Have no complaints so far.
I haven't heard anything about not putting anything by the boarding ladder by anyone or any dealers I have talked to. I think people get told that because of the possibility of people damaging it boarding the boat using the ladder and/or stepping on the ducers. Which I can see. The boarding ladder on my boat doesn't hit any of the transducers. Made sure before install. The only time I will use it will be during an emergency. So the reason for the sonars on the left side is the sonar interference/vibration from being close to the 9.9. The 9.9 will have some prop disturbance as well, more noise and to avoid any problems with the 9.9 blocking/hitting the side/down scans long pucks when turning. The 9.9 sticks below the hull and will block the transducers depending on where there put. less room as well!! . Even if you stick the ducer between the 150 and 9.9. Less than ideal location between two motors.
The only downfall of the left side is that the prop rotation kicks left but its so far away from the 9.9 during trolling applications you don't see any noise. the only ducer you use at high speed will be the 83/200 hst-wsbl and its good alongside the 150. 150 use doesn't matter when it comes to the down/side/3d/fishhawk. its out of the water. If I didn't have a kicker there, just the 150, transducers would be on the right.
