Thats really the perfect setup, big open space, and plenty of room to put a pop-up ice shack and propane heater for extremely late season musky fishing lol
I love my bass boat, but if I had to do it over again, this is the exact boat I’d get. You and Aaron have sold me on the benefits of a tiller. Awesome!
I picked my 205 shadow windshield version up with 250SHO for $43.5k back in 2018. Still one of the best deals today for what it has to offer. I mainly fish great lakes for small mouth and it handles rough water well for what it is. I swapped props to enertia 19p and it seems to offer best performance and ride overall. Runs about 58-60mph on a good day with decent economy. Only complaint on the boat is slow speed tracking, bow gets blown around and screws backing out of front deck. The screws backing out is common on aluminum boats and easier to deal with than my previous glass rig with gel coat cracking. Very underrated boat for big water bass fishing. I still enjoy running it 4 years later.
I bought the same rig this spring just in the windshield model and a 250 Suzuki… I have had 2 family members sell their boats and buy an alumacraft… they truly are the best boat for the money.
Mercury does warranty one lithium cranking battery from Relion. It’s a 100 amp hour dual purpose lithium but it has to be the relion HP. As far as I know this is the only lithium cranking battery that mercury won’t void it’s warranty. I just bought a 2022 Crestliner raptor 1850 with the 200 pro XS on it. West Marine is where you can find these batteries. I run a helix 15, 12, 10, and a Garmin 106sv with the LS34. I don’t run all the units at the same time but a few are always running and have not had any issue. Great great battery.
Nice boat - I like the way you have it set up. One thing gave me a chuckle - even with hard core fishermen, tournament guys and most serious recreational anglers - I have yet to see one single person say they use their front live well as a live well. I'm thinking this needs to become an option on Lunds, Alumacrafts, and other higher end fishing boats. A waste of money and plumbing as far as I'm concerned. I don't (and never felt the need) to use one in any of my boats. Never.
Always had the little tillers growing up, but this year after going to a big tiller set up with a casting deck from a bass boat I don't know if I'd ever have a console steer again... the fishability is unbeatable
Jay: I have the same hydraulic steering on my 2005 Alumacraft Tournament Pro 185 with a 90 hp. Yamaha. Yes, 2005. It was designed and built by Merten's Co. and a few years later Merc bought them out. Now you can only get it on a Merc which I think is a shame but that's business. It's a sweet boat, Jay. One thing I'd do differently, because like you said, "When you hit a rock," is put a 15 horse kicker on it and take off that Talon anchor. If you hit a rock with that big 200 hp, with a kicker on the boat you can still get home. Also, you can backtroll much slower with a kicker. But that's only my opinion.
All I can say is wow! Having said that, the new aluma-craft that came out today with fish able spot over motor in back is way cool for 2023! Start saving those $$$$ boys! ( and girls)
Alumacraft makes a great boat, love the features on that thing!!! And definitely doing that foam flooring when I rebuild my decks (6’ rod locker is useless for todays rods lol) I run a ‘92 Dominator cs with the same year 60hp Johnson. Gets around great, so solid, and nobody really pays attention to the guy in the old boat. Not unintentional these days, competition is brutal here in WI
Awesome boat Jay. One thing, you might consider doing is to put a grommet in that hole where you have the wires running to your lithium charger. Last thing you'd want is for the sharp edge to wear the wires and short the charger, batteries or possibly other stuff in the boat. Also, first thing my wife noticed was the haircut :)
I have a 16 foot Lund with a 40 tohatzu and a 9.9 for trolling but this is my dream to own a 20 ft with a 200 hp tiller. I like the aluma craft or the warrior 2090BT . Someday I want to own something like this. My lund is nice but that extra 4 ft would make a big difference in room on board or running in rough water . Hopefully someday I can get one
Ok, two questions for you sir. 1, how do you feel about the open space behind your graphs do you feel you use it fully compared to mounting on your side rail? 2, have you thought about using the Sharrow Propeller on your rig due to the size of your motor? As always awesome and congrats on your new little one.
Awesome walkthru, Jay! I just ordered my 1st (and probably last new boat), a Competitor 205 Sport. Now I can't wait to get it. Also, great video and editing, the best in the business, your video looked like a professional ad from Alumacraft, you should tell them to just use your videos for their ads. lol
Great walk through. Reality says not many can afford this great boat. A retail price would be helpful with all the other info you've provided. We all know it's a year away or season away for delivery I'm sure. Thanks again.
Very nice rig Jay! Tons of Room!!!! Really like the captains chair! Rod storage unreal👍 You go fishing and don’t bring Anything home What do you do?!! Have fun on the water .. Tight Lines. B Deacon Manitoba Canada 🇨🇦
Hey Jay, nice rig, I have a question, I am retired now and have never owned my own boat. I want to get a boat now and I just love tillers. I go fishing with a guide in upper Wisconsin in a big tiller and just love the fishing experience. What do you think of a retired guy almost 70 getting a tiller like yours for his fist boat? any opinions from anybody would be much appreciated.
How deep does the 205 ride? I often fish small to med size lakes and a river that has sandbars that change throughout the year. Any concern getting the 205 vs the 185?
Hey wicked cool ... love the 200 tiller its like the insane version of my first boat which was a 10 ft v hull and 9hp tiller in 1975, I have a Lund 1775 xs w 115 loaded to the max w gear goes good... that 200 tiller looks shit tons of fun . whats the name of the battery terminal connectors.... they look perfect and exactly what I ned right now. I mean like right now in my driveway . lol
Incredible boat and incredible video, I think we all want one now. I have a tiller too, any tips/tricks for high speed in rain or cold conditions to avoid face getting pelted or frozen, just tighten up a hood and ski goggles?
What’s it look like at the end of a long day of fishing? Do lures get caught in that foam? Let’s be honest. They don’t all end up back where they should be lol. Looks good Jay!
Jay, have you thought about having a separate lithium house battery for your graphs? You should get improved imaging with that steady supply of power. Also, what Is that mount you used for your livescope you have permanently mounted on your transom? Great Vid!
Thats really the perfect setup, big open space, and plenty of room to put a pop-up ice shack and propane heater for extremely late season musky fishing lol

This motor is exactly as advertised, it’s well made, easy to use and very powerful. We are happy
Always had the little tillers growing up, but this year after going to a big tiller set up with a casting deck from a bass boat I don't know if I'd ever have a console steer again... the fishability is unbeatable
Man those pro XS sound sick when they start up.

This rig was in at my workplace and it was honestly one of my coolest boats I’ve seen
And I got excited putting a trolling motor on my kayak...Nice boat!
It's exciting
I'm trying to hook a gps programmable 65lbs trust on mine
Awesome boat. I had a 195 tournament pro years ago - loved it. This one is even better!
Dam... the uploads as a new father--appreciate it! Congratulations on the new ship!
I'm in love with my trophy but daayyham that's the perfect tiller rig

Loved my Dominator, great boat!
Hard not to covet during this Video! Beautiful boat. Thanks for the walk through.
Good idea Jay, don’t void the warranty on that Mercury Jumk!! You gonna need it.
The tiller of all tillers is still the warrior glass one like aaron has. its a monster.
Hey great video!!! Id like to ask why you have the Talon and please let me know a few different scenarios you would use the Talan Please , Big Fan!!
Anyone who can do what you’re doing is an artist of the first rank. Loved watching you.
Thank you so much!!!! Nice GT 👀👀👀
@@JaySiemens your welcome brother
Great boat! We need a video breakdown on running a tiller in big water. It’s obviously gonna be wet, but tips to ride smoother would be sweet.
Capon chair looks awesome, wish I had a boat like that.
Nice boat!!! 19P Rev4 merc prop would be a good upgrade. 4 blade design has a better hole shot and keeps the front of the boat down in waves!
I have a 16 foot Lund with a 40 tohatzu and a 9.9 for trolling but this is my dream to own a 20 ft with a 200 hp tiller. I like the aluma craft or the warrior 2090BT . Beautiful boat. I'd love to have something like that. I'm a multi species guy and even fish in saltwater, something like that would be perfect.
It is a beauty Jay... and it's the flooring that's the clickbait cause you're like, whaaaaat? Looks sharp!
You really do a good job of explaining how everything works
congrats on the new boat Jay
New boat, new baby. Living the dream my friend!
Ok, two questions for you sir. 1, how do you feel about the open space behind your graphs do you feel you use it fully compared to mounting on your side rail? 2, have you thought about using the Sharrow Propeller on your rig due to the size of your motor? I've owned a competitor 185 tiller and this time I went with a 185 CS. I say the CS has way more room than the tiller.
Awesome walkthru, Jay!

Only guys with big cojones drive 20ft tillers. #tillerlife 🤘
🤟🤟🤟
“Go fer a little rip” - DYING!!
Jay is out here living the good life! Congrats!
the 205 is a good size. I always wanted to see a 205 with a 250hp on it. That thing would fly.
Love the set up Jay!! What’s with the yellow top Optima batteries?? Are those ok for marine applications?
Very nice rig Jay! Tons of Room!!!! Really like the captains chair! Rod storage unreal👍 You go fishing and don’t bring Anything home What do you do?!! Have fun on the water .. Tight Lines. B Deacon Manitoba Canada 🇨🇦
Beauty boat an dream electronic set up. Looking forward to seeing you post some videos in that bad boy … 🇨🇦🎣
No surprise coming from you, but this is the Best walk through on UA-cam jay!

No that’s a real beauty Jay very impressive….
Hey Jay, nice rig, I have a question, I am retired now and have never owned my own boat. I want to get a boat now and I just love tillers. Looks like a perfect boat to compete in 39 Hours Season 3!
Man that really is a dream boat
Hey Jay love your videos. Hopefully I see you around baudette some times.
"Im by myself" *Camera Man looks down* LOL ps love the boat Jay, absolutely minty setup!
This more gear worship than fishing. As a new boater/fisher this is just intimidating.
I love that deck material. What is that and was it installed over the vinyl or carpet?
The man can sell a boat
You talked about the pros and cons between all your charts, wanna make a video on the things each one do and don’t do!
That is one nice boat I’m gonna have to get me one.
All in, what does that boat run you without any sponsorships? Just curious.
man that grin is legit.
Dream setup right there. Nicely done!
So happy for you. Looks like your hard work is paying dividends. Keep up the great work!
Slick rig! I’ll be getting that exact setup when I win the lottery soon haha
Beauty boat. Does the added weight of the talon cause any list to the starboard side either on plane or at rest?
Nice boat! One day I’ll own a boat
How deep does the 205 ride? I often fish small to med size lakes and a river that has sandbars that change throughout the year. Any concern getting the 205 vs the 185?
Super nice craft and another great video!
Jay you're my idol. Love every video you post
That's an awesome rig! You have more $$ in graphs than I have in my whole outfit including gear. 😂 Nice for guiding and safe big boat for big water.
Congrats man! Looks perfect
That's my dream boat maybe someday Congrats man!
Nice boat man super jealous enjoy the boat!!!
Ummm 🤔 I think your spam bud
What a great boat and awesome video. Good luck tight lines
Top video Jay 😊👍 - Scott
Sad that you have to explain different things for the trolls and haters. Great video.
If it only caught more fish…ha. Beautiful boat for sure.
it is a pretty sexy rig dude. I'm very jealous but you have earned it forsure!!
Love the video's Jay!!
Great boat setup and content in this video. Keep them coming. Wishing you well and your family!!
Amazing boat Jay! Brilliant walk through too. love it.
Congrats on the new boat Jay!!! What a beauty!!!
It's Mertens steering. Brunswick bought it off the market.
Incredible boat and incredible video, I think we all want one now. I have a tiller too, any tips/tricks for high speed in rain or cold conditions to avoid face getting pelted or frozen, just tighten up a hood and ski goggles?
Thanks! I think ski goggles are the best option! Or a Full helmet for extreme conditions.
Motorcycle helmet with full shield.
What’s it look like at the end of a long day of fishing? Do lures get caught in that foam? Let’s be honest. They don’t all end up back where they should be lol. Looks good Jay!
What mounts did you use for your stern graphs? Did you use a sort of backer board?
yes sir thats a really nice rig !! awesome !!
Super sweet boat!! Congrats!
Do you use anything to protect your transducers when traveling with the boat on the trailer?
That is one sweet boat!
Sweet boat and awesome setup!
Jay, what do you have on the ceiling of your garage for rods?
Possible in the market for a new boat. Pros and cons between sc/tiller? Aside from space saving and $?
Jay what are you using for mounts for the two sonars at the bow? RAM or otherwise?
Jay, have you thought about having a separate lithium house battery for your graphs? You should get improved imaging with that steady supply of power. Also, what Is that mount you used for your livescope you have permanently mounted on your transom? Great Vid!
Nice rig!
Beautiful boat!
One bad a$$ boat!! Nice setup!!
Great info and a finger liking boat😜
Such a sick rig, Jay!
I'd say that's a dream boat!
very nice Jay that floor is really cool too, be soft on the little guys feet LoL
