Thanks for admitting that 1/2 ton trucks struggle with towing. I have a Jayco 263 RBS and a 2016 tundra, and finally had to add air bags to stop the bounce and wiggle. I can tolerate it now now but still can’t relax. I wish I had stuck to my 22’ max length. I’m way under my tow weight but you touched on the main problem, tongue and cargo weight.
You really want to cross those safety chains under the jack before hooking them into the hitch to make a cradle to catch the tongue if it comes unhooked. BTW, looks like a great hitch!
You don't cross them to make a cradle to catch the tongue, it's to keep the trailer straight behind the truck instead of being able to veer left or right of the truck.
In New York State, the safety chains have to be crossed over each other. Something happens they catch the tongue. Love watching your videos. Have a nice trip can’t wait for the next one.
Great video. You can disable the annoying seatbelt chime. There are several videos to show you how, just look for your year of rig. My owner's manual actually tells you how in the seatbelt section.
So far so good. One thing I noticed I’m 99.9% sure, your truck has trailer towing mirrors. I believe they push up from the bottom and pivot out. Give it a shot.
what if you turned the camper around and then lowered the jack to level the camper instead of use the jack to lift to level then you wouldn't have to worry about wind blowing you over it would be more sturdy as its only out a few inches rather then a few feet
I open up the sliding rear window while backing up to trailer, that way I can hear her directions as well as see her directing with hand. ( If she is within rear camera).
Hey guys You may want to reconsider the tpms on a travel trailer tst has a signal booster so you keep a steady signal from the sensors. I'm guessing that you don't realize how much damage a blow out does to a travel trailer. It's cheaper in the long run to have tpms on the the trailer. Something to think about
In some states and counties and municipal jurisdictions, you could still receive a citation for use and display of a radar device!!! You shouldn't be speeding with your camper in tow anyway. 💙
Day 1 in the books & problems Sweet! How many miles & how was the gas station food🫣. Seem really well equipped hitch&cameras worth the $! Happy & Safe Travels! All The Best!
It must be the quality or lack of quality in the chains. I saw a photo of a guy that went over a bridge and if not mistaken, his chains held, and the camper stayed on the road, his whole truck and him were just hanging by the chains. I’m taking a vintage trailer restoration course from a guy that rebuilds campers, and he’s known of cases where the camper came loose and chains held. Not trying to “irritate the travelers” just sharing some observations.
So Mike do you love your beautiful Ram again or are you still mad at it 😅This is so much like my wife and me. I have to carry a walkie talkie when she is guiding me into the trailer or into the dock with our boat. She doesn’t realize I can do it alone but to keep her quiet I have to carry the radio hahaha
Why does the Power Wagon have such a low payload capacity? Is it from the additional weight of the PW package? Nice looking truck, BTW. I just bought a '24 Tradesman 2500- specifically to be able to pull a bigger camper when the time comes- and the payload capacity is 3200 lbs. Enjoying the videos!
Here I'm trying to learn something and she's not exactly covering up and I got so distracted I had to watch it twice, not looking at her second time. I think I'm looking at a different WDH. The Continuum costs a fortune, looks complicated. I think I'll go with the weigh safe...
I was going to get weigh safe but after trying to contact them and having to text them and being out of stock. I went with a blue ox trac pro. It was 700$. Works fine for our 7000lb rig.
It's very easy to connect and disconnect but it does fluctuate on psi a lot. It doesn't seem to affect the towing but I have had to pump it up 50% of the gas stops because it will be off anywhere from 200-500 psi
This is probably an unpopular opinion but... If you didn't break the speed limit you wouldn't need the radar detector. Especially pulling a trailer like that do you do much speeding? Lol . I drive a semi truck and radar detectors are illegal for us in all states and I don't miss them. My car at home has one though
Very nice set up. Honestly, Im here for your wife. show more of her and that nice chevage and you views will go way up. I listen to you talk, but just want to look at her.

That truck could pull that trailer with no weight distribution and your front end would not feel light or floating it did not even ge to your jounst bumper you just had extra money to throw away with that hitch

Haven’t been able to keep up with latestvideos, but what happened to the Class A?
Use two cell phones when backing up. One in the truck and one with person guiding you
get a big leveling block under the front jack so it doesn't have to disengage so much.
I like the laid back style of your content. Would you rather have a class A or the trailer you have now?
We would do a class A over a travel trailer.
Great informative video... I must have missed it... What happened to your beautiful Class A RV ? Why did you get a trailer instead ?

Is that a redline 360 I see ??? That hitch looks so much easier than the old bar system tho...
Yes. I have had Valentine 1's for over 30 years but I like this one better.

back up cameras should be on all vehicles, maybe they are? my 2007 Tundra doesn't have one

Yes, it would be under warranty but we can fix it easily enough!

Get a diesel truck you'd get better millage . The truck only about 75,000
You have a RV and no food aboard? 😂
Alot of money to spend on a WD hitch that you probably dont need with that truck.
We did need it due to the soft suspension on the Power Wagon. It was a really "floaty" without it and the steering was really light.
