R.I.P Tommy Vance. Used to love watching this show in the late 90s/early 00s. Tommy used to play power rock ballads to extreme Scandinavian Metal. Discovered so many bands watching this show from Blind Guardian to Emperor. Always remember late Friday night on VH1, happy happy days.
+Wolfsangel Grenadier wasn't a nazi. jsut somebody who appreciated their military style and historical context. and there is no doubt the Wehrmacht had it in spades.
They are not nazi... Jeff was nazi? WTF HAHAHA they dont have anything with nazism. They just write the song like Angel of Death how big horror was all that in WW2. Its from first person perspective how was they thinking the way they want you to die , germans right... Tom araya is an communist , he wear a hat of Soviet Union simbol in this video so... stop with stupidity.
I can't ever do justice to the love that Neville gave to the Alternative, Metal & Hardcore scene & we gave back. Slayer wanted to take him out in their tours around the world because of the respect he gave absolutely everyone. He changed the game and made huge changes in how the security at the Astoria treated fans. He was an utter legend that unfortunately passed away after he crashed he's motorbike after going to see System Of A Down at the LA2. He was nothing but love and he's still remembered by anyone that he came into contact with. Miss you Predator 🖤
8:14 Kerry is wearing a Stone Cold Steve Austin shirt! hell yeah! I remember him saying on Chris Jericho's podcast, that he used to be a wrestling fan in the "Attitude Era". God I miss the 90's & 80's. Everything involved chaos and badass shit in general. World has gone way too PC these days.
RIP Tommy the Vance and Jeff. Tommy Vance did the Friday Rock show for years. Once in a while he played a live concert, usually the entire show. This included every band that passed through the UK.
What a great video. I was at one of those shows in the Balcony. I think the 2nd night. I remember them setting Paul's drums up after Sepultura did their set and thinking it strange that it was orange/yellow burst. I suppose it's all Tama could offer them for the UK leg of the tour. Great to see the little interview with Jeff RIP. So glad he had been to the Imperial War Museum and that he liked it. It's one of my favourite places to visit. I know he used to collect Nazi memorabilia. I miss the Astoria. I saw so many bands there. The interview with Neville. He became quite well known at gigs, am I right? Also did he get killed or something like that?
I was there for this, S.O.A.D were the best support act I'd ever seen, without a doubt, Sepultura...awful. was so boring. Slayer...110%...one of the best live sets I've been to.
I seen this tour in 98 when system opened up for slayer at the ogden theatre in Denver Colorado.. i remember seeing system thinking to myself who the fuk are these guys.. i've been a fan of system ever since.. \m/
VH1's Friday Rock Show with Tommy Vance was GREAT!! I have this FULL episode on DVD-R minus the videos, funny as hell. AWESOME show. Do you have any more FULL episodes of this GREAT show. VH1 was great back then. TV like this used to be amazing back in the 1990's. You just don't see awesome stuff like this on TV anymore. PRICELESS!! Tom Araya is one of the funniest dudes in metal!! GREAT sense of humor. LOVE THIS!
+thrasher1889 Whoa! I looked him up and I see that he was a pretty big deal in the music biz for a long time. AT least in England and he passed away in 2005
i can remember from the slayer section of the that gig was my back to the band, trying all nite to get everybody to crowd surf ............... boom top nite ......... still got the ticket some where .........
Such a BAD time for metal. This is the time I was in MY first band, uggh,, so MUCH nu-Metal and Rap-Rock we had to contend with. But it was a lot of fun...mostly. HA!!
i watched this as a kid, loved this show.. the part i found really interesting was seeing Igor playing with The Andreas Kisser band, cause sepultura (for me) ended when Max left.. Slayer are on fucking fire as usual, Rest easy Jeff miss you brother!!
Slayer, Sepultura, SOD. OH MY GOD THIS MUST BE THE GREATEST CONCERT OF ALL TIME! and then you realize that slayer has Paul bostaph. Sepultura without Max. SOD isn't even there. It's SOAD. Wait....I love system!! \m/
+Tom Button Copeland Ah I should have read the comments before posting mine. I remember hearing something about his death. Always the good guys that go first. I remember seeing him at the shows.

34:41 Best S.O.A.D. interview I've seen.
I can't ever do justice to the love that Neville gave to the Alternative, Metal & Hardcore scene & we gave back. World has gone way too PC these days.
tommy vance was a great guy. meet him a number of times, he knew his rock music.
Well he's an annoying prick here.
seekah1 Well at least he's being himself instead of faking like most of interviewers, being too polite and boring.
+Toornap Tarraa no...he's acting like a knobjockey..comes across as a bit of a dickhead.the mans a walking cliché
Oh, the 90s... My teenagehood \m/
17 years later and still kicking ass!
Shread in Pieces Jeff!
Araya and King surely have sense of humor.
+Toornap Tarraa Plus Tom is stoned like hell! Look at him at the beginning, the whole 'lift' scene :D
Staminist He looks always like that.
***** I know, he is always stoned ;)
Staminist lol for sure
I went to this show, I was 21 then and now I'm 43. We missed SOAD as the doors opened at 6pm and not 7pm.

ERIC_uzi i was 17. Saw them a few months after this in Rhode Island
I love Slayer LIVE..they sound like their albums.....hard for bands to achieve that. Especially the low end...rumbles through your body.
I've seen them 4x with all drummers.
Got lucky! Always powerful.
What a great video. I was at one of those shows in the Balcony. I think the 2nd night. 38:58 the definition of a cool security dude who knows what his job is, instead of randomly beating and pushing kids that come in front of him.
