Dave in the end: "I don't think there will ever be a farewell tour".
Well, damn...
Get out and see it if you can. May not be the real Slayer, but you're gonna be pissed at yourself if you don't do it. Just my $3.
I was JUST about to say the same thing. This will be my first and last slayer concert :c at least I get to see them at least once
Yup me too! I love slayer but I’ve never seen em live, this this will also be my first and only time. I can’t wait
You guys are lucky, i never got to see slayer live :'(
@@mkel1572 same😭
Jeff always wanted the blood rain. When the time came he missed the spot- classic Spinal Tap moment lol!
Everyone else in the band: "Yeah for me it's all about the music and the band and the connection with the fans blah blah blah"
Tom Araya: "Yeah whatever. I don't pay attention"
Matt Bowen he's real as fuck lol he doesn't try to act like a metal elitist
Tom rules lol 😂
Tom had no taste or sense for the genre apparently but ended up being perfect for Slayer and is one of the best metal singers ever. Similarl to Joey Belladonna, who was a Steve Perry listening dude who wasn’t into metal at all.
15:07 Dave: I don't think there will ever be a Slayer farewell tour. Well.... 14 years later except minus you and jeff. Rip jeff
I'm really happy we have the Japanese subtitles so I know what's going on.
Lost track of the times i saw them live, but can honestly say they always put on great concerts. Glad they called it on their terms, and let it be, for Jeff.
“I don’t think there will ever be a slayer farewell tour”
"They had a particular darkness that had a strange sound. You knew that it was Slayer you couldn't mistake it with any another band." -Dave Lombardo
I saw slayer in 85 best hour and a half of my life lol
Jeff's idea and he missed the spot when it counted. Priceless- Very Spinal Tap! RIP Jeff.
I remember being at a Slayer show at the Thomas and Mack Center in Vegas, mmm early 90's, I saw a chick get blasted with an elbow, broken nose, laugh manically and jump right back in the pit . Epic
Tim Ogrady yeah i went to a show that tour in San Diego. Alice in Chains was pretty much ignored, i was in the parking lot getting hammered when they were on. I regret that now. It was Chains, then Anthrax, Slayer and Megadeth headlined that night. Was awesome
Tim Ogrady Pretty sure that tour was Clash of the Titian's.
Metal Fan Dave Yes, it was the Titans tour. Saw them at Alpine Valley in Wisconsin. Yeah, man!
+Metal Fan Dave it was the Clash of the Titans, I saw the show in Toronto, Slayer closed the show...unbelievable!
Ryoji Kitomi I was at that show too. \m/
The big 4
Slayer - Heaviest
Metallica - Most Melodic
Megadeth - Most technical
Anthrax - Most Experimental
Whether you like one or hate the other three they all are amazing metal bands. (My fav is Slayer)
Metallica was really more technical than Megadeth...listen to "the black album" on about 3 hits of acid sometime and you will recognize their incredible depth and talent. No, I don't like all their stuff, but they have immense talent.
B. Alvn I want some of your acid then.
me too...its been a long time since i had some. but when i get some, the black album will be the first thing i listen to...after that, "are you experienced" and then "dark side of the moon" followed by "fly by night" by Rush, and maybe (if i can still crawl over to the record player) some early Sabbath....Paranoid is a great acid album. man, do i miss those days (the days i had a regular supply of LSD....... Legalize it.
B. Alvn I'm more into Dog Fashion Disco and Eagles Of Death Metal when I trip. But Rush....yeah, I like Rush. 2112 and Fly By Night. Owwwww!
oh yes, 2112 was a great LP, and Caress of Steel, and Moving Pictures was also excellent...and the first album...i pretty much like all their stuff up to Grace Under Pressure, but after that I lost interest and they got too "artsy" in my opinion...I saw them 3 or 4 times in the 80s...a little late but they did play a fair amount of their earlier catalog in the shows still. They are a great live band. Ever seen them?
I've never heard of Dog Fashion Disco...what songs or albums would you recommend?
Yeah, wtf ! Slayer is the only one of the big four who didn't get a behind the music episode. Thats cause they refused to conform and give in to the record company & mass media's demands. Fuck that shit, the man could not keep them down. If you know metal, you know who Slayer is. No matter if you like them or not. \m/
Been Slaytanic for 25 years now
Jeff is reigning now! RIP
maybe but look on you tube at famous guitar player in hell scary shit kind of makes a guy wonder
Damn it i just wish there was a full behind the music of them. Seems like every other bands has one
The first time I saw Slayer was 12/6/86 ar The Channel in South Boston the last time I saw them was in 1991 at the same venue and saw them countless times in between. And one constant in those yeats that still remains today is the loyalty of the fans. I remember in 1987 I went to see local (Boston) band Wargasm. In between Meliah Rage and Wargasm's set the DJ played "Angel Of Death". When the song started everybody was slam dancing. Mid way through the song I felt a force hit me in my jaw and I hit the ground. A couple of kids pulled me out. I thought it was overzealous fans hitting me accidentally. It turns out that I was sucker punched by a bouncer. All the slamdancers started to charge against the bouncers because of what happened to me.
I haven't seen Slayer live in 30 years and I regret that there was a Slayer farewell tour and that I didn't go to pay my final respects, to show some gratitude for all the great music over the years.
15:33??
That time came a while back dude.
Slayer without Jeff and Dave?
Time to close up shop!!
saw them last night and didn't leave the mosh pit all night, im brusied and battered and had a bloody nose all night too but I'd do it all again in a heartbeat. absolutely fucking amazing band and awesome show
Anyone else here after they announced their farewell tour?
i was at that show in maine! i was 11 years old and got to witness slayer rain blood
Awe Hanneman is such a lovely guy, can't wait to die just to join him and the gone great musician on the other side.
Great documentary of one of the greatest Metal bands of all time....nice work.
Slayer's music is like beer, it's an acquired taste..
I'm drinking beer right now watching this
Saw them in Portland OR in 2010. One of the greatest shows I've ever been to.
“I don’t think there will be a slayer farewell tour”- well looks like there one know and it will be my first and last time seeing them
My very first concert was SLAYER, biohazard and Machine Head. I’ll never forget it.
R.I.P JEFF
I'll never forget the first time I saw them live. It was like living in a dream. And there was no voice left after the show was over! Slaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That Read between the lies riff at the beginning is killer!! Hopefully there is a Farewell tour part 2 coming soon!!
Show no mercy and Hell Awaits my favourite ever.

RIP Jeff legend!!!
Jeff and Dave gave SLAYER the edge they needed RIP JEFF
I don'[t know why i even bother watching Slayer any more, the way the treated Dave is an absolute fucking disgrace.

I love Slayer. I believe in God...and I love Slayer. They are just the extreme edge. Viva Slayer.
I can say the same
LoL so you haven’t heard about gorgoroth yeah ?
" I believe in god" dude who gives a flying fuck
@@alfonspekala gorgoroth are lame fart
I'm an atheist, I don't believe in god, neither in satan, but I love slayer. Amazing how the love for a band can gather such a diverse crowd
15:07 "I don't think there'll ever be a Slayer Farewell tour"
well..... :(
Cool to hear and see Hamneman
Okay,i read the whole comments.Slayer \\M// RIP Jeff.!
Funny thing about Jeff saying that he's gonna have a hardon when the blood rains down :D
He missed his mark on that :D
Watching in 2018. Just bought tickets to the Slayer farewell show. Ironic.
Jeff Hanneman-RIP!!!!! Only Jeff Hanneman Slayer is real...
SLAYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRR!!!!
I've seen Slayer about 8 times. I saw them at the War at the Warfield too. I've cracked the same 2 ribs twice at their show, broke my nose, got my tooth knocked out, broke my foot, found a tooth in my head at the end of a show, and busted my cheekbone allllll in the pit. Would still go see them again.
That's metal as fuck!
Zugga Scampy Wait... found a tooth IN your head? What???
seen Slayer like 10 times never once been bloody! Going to see them in the St Paul next week!
RIP Jeff
I was at that same show too!
I lost my shoe and I wasn't even aware that I had a gash in my leg. Best day ever
heaviest riffs an solos ever never gets boring love slayer never seen a bad show by them
Slayer pit is no joke. Saw them at Club Eastbrook in Grand Rapids, Michigan in '94, brutal fists and elbows. Floor was slippery as fuck and someone crowd surfing kicked me in the face with a filthy combat boot. My ears rang for two solid weeks, hearing damage but totally worth it.
Sure miss ya Jeff! Fucking Love Slayer!!!!!!!!!!
I was 14 in 1984 when I went to see SLAYER. I had spent hours bleaching upside down crosses allover my Jordache jeans to wear to the concert. Those jeans made me famous at the show, but quite infamous when I wore them to school. Lol
Just the other day I came across my old biker leather with the denim vest covered in all of the thrash metal patches, chains and iron crosses from back in the day. Among all the Metallica, S.O.D. and D.R.I. patches, the one that's at the top just across the back of the shoulders is of'course SLAYER.
Funny at 15:09, Dave said, “I don’t think there will ever be a slayer farewell tour” I’ll be in the pit for that show, can’t fuckin wait 🤘🤘🤘go out with a bang guys
@0:02 highway sign that says North Maine.. my home state that is very cool
Love SLAYER but im stuck in reign in blood thru divine, couple songs after but for most part cant listen to new stuff, dunno why. Almost like metallica after black album, just without slayer turning wuss to explain it
July 6 2006 Seattle 😎 🍻
BEST BAND EVER!
RIP my boy!!!!!
forever reign the king of slayer.
Its interesting 15:08 when Dave Lombardo says there will never be a farewell tour yet here they are 2018 on their final tour
"I don't think there will ever be a slayer Farwell tour"..... 2018 and it's here.. sigh..
I know it sucks for Slayer's success - but it's cool that they never had any Radio Play...They've never been sell-outs.
Curiously, I once listened to a Slayer song on the radio, here in Argentina.
minor threat was from DC... not SoCal...
and DRI was from Texas
David Leimbach they prob toured in Cali waay more than dc.
thnk u, dri is from texas and bay area
RIP Jeff
RIP Jeff Hanneman
⚡️⚡️
\o
I wish they told the story about how Tom ended up playing bass. I think it's fucking awesome when the vocalist is also the bassist.
correct me if im wrong but i think tom played bass in other bands n then joined slayer as the vocalist/bassist
lookup Primus
"Sorry for not thinking you were real" lol
I still remember that day. September 11, 2001. I had been waiting for it since "God Hates Us All" was to be released... I guess he really did that day!
The thing about me and these nice men was I only got ta' see em just once or twice: So blessed be ya' Jeeff
The part where Dave says, I think there will never be a farewell tour! It's happening :(
Rest in peace Jeff
Slayer!!
"Altar Of Sacrafice/Jesus Saves" classic Slayer shit. Gets me the fuck going!
slayer melhor banda do universo disparado depois vem o resto
got my nose busted twice both at slayer in Detroit.
Grandes entre los grandes enseno a muchos lo gue es el verdadero metal gigantes e irrepetibles ba da de verdadero culto
R.I.P Jeff
does anyone know where the footage off fight till death comes from at 11:11? its looks like the same footage from the same show, but i cant find it anywhere.
1:58 I don't know why but that mental image of Kerry King just standing in his front yard, and the way Dave said it cracked me up. Like Dave Lombardo almost caught Kerry King watering his moms flowerbed or something. Like "Get outta here, Dave, I'm doing metal shit." Just all curt and defensive like Kerry gets. "Why you driving by my house, you gay or something? You wanna be my boyfriend?" Dave's like "god damn". lol I dunno. I dunno where I'm going with this.
lol omg kerry talking about jeff with a shaved head oh the irony.
David Sadowski No kidding.
Bow to the Slayer
I saw them once here in Pgh it was clash of the titans like 91 I think.i was 14, my gram an mum an younger brother an sister had to come too.my gram said she liked slayer the best11
SLAYERRRRRRR
Geniuses
Best Slayer Albums: Show no Mercy, Hell Awaits, Rein in Blood, Seasons in the Abyss, Undisputed Attitude. The rest...
South of Heaven is also great
1:49 LMAO is that a classy way of saying you delivered pizzas for Pizza Hut?
All pizza is Pizza hut?
"Delivery Pizza Company" is a very bizzare/odd way of saying you deliver pizzas. That's all.
Maybe it is!
Wonder if Jeff and Tom flipped a coin to see which one would play on the side Kerry wore his spike armband.
Can't wait for their 15 year Vegas run...
in Istanbul 98 one of the front pit kid's jaw fricking dislocated
I really hope Slayer plans on throwing the best show they ever done this year in Mansfield Mass I hope they play like a lot of their kickass older music fuck yeah freak out in the mosh pit and I hope Slayer freaks the fuck out on stage yeah yeeeaaaaaaah🤘
🤘-I-SLaYER-I-🤘
15:08 wrong Dave :(
tomorrow is fucking international SLAYER-DAY fuckers, lets blast fucking SLAYER
The early days would be early 80s (they formed in 1981). First three albums were mind-blowingly heavy and intense: Show No Mercy, Hell Awaits, Reign in Blood. I know they did several after that but for me those first there are their best, and also among the best dozen metal/thrash albums of all time.
Favorite slayer album is show no mercy 🤘
"Die by the sword!"
First slayer song I heard angel of death that was yeons ago like let see 30 years ago I was 21 now 51 !!yeah I'd want to retire too!SLAYER FUCKING RULES!!!!
4:44
You're welcome.
Robgoren Thank you brother
Come on Kerry Minor Threat was DC HxC and you should know this. Big difference between East Coast and LA HxC sound in this time period.
