yeh true,paul bostaph is a pretty good drummer he's done 2 or 3 albums with em,dave was an in house thing between members but Jeffs replacement had to be particular,Exodus were always tight with slayer & Gary & Jeff were really good friends & i remember Tom Araya saying when Gary's name popped up they knew he was the one i think he was a nice touch in place of Jeff for a last album

It's the metal version of "Live long and prosper," especially when accompanied by the horns.

I still love GHUA and have some little love for Diabolous which is for me and many other Slayer fans their weakest album. but Repentless lacks everything, drumming is too slow , mid tempo songs are horrible and they go nowhere,production is very sterile which is shame because Terry Date is one of the best producers ever.This album was not meant to be released at all,Tom wanted to quit and even he called it Half Slayer which is true. There are good moments here and there but it feels rushed nd thse parts are wasted..Slayer rules because Jeff and Dave were unique musicians along with Kerry and Toms vocals on top of it.without those two,it didnt work,it lacks the magic touches by Dave and Jeff.this is Kerrys solo record and besides intro and title rack,everything feels souless
I love this fucking album. I loved Jeff Hanneman(R.I.P.) and Dave Lombardo, but let's look at this album for what it is. It kicks total ass and is a masterpiece..Slayer forever. I wish they would get back together. I love Gary's guitar work and Paul's drumming too with Kerry and Tom. It's killer. I've seen Slayer many times live and this last tour was great too. I wish it wasn't over..I love these documentaries..

The more I listen to Repentless, the more I'm convinced it's their best album since Reign in Blood. Even though I hugely miss Jeff and Dave, for me, the lyrics and riffs on this record are absolutely solid and superbly executed.
Back in the 80's seen slayer in very small venues , Kerry Marker'd my friends arm with the slayer logo whic he had tattooe'd on his skin .Mosh pit security was crazier than the moshers People would get fucked up hurt the whole night kicked out of the club ,That's one of my slayer stories

I've always felt a sense of comfort when listening to Slayer. It's real, brutally honest and fucking as real as it gets, so when I hear someone say the Beatles are the best rock band of all time or Elvis is the king of rock n roll I honestly feel sympathetic towards their ignorance. Slayer is closer to the classical musial orchestrations of Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin etc than Elvis or the Beatles could ever have been.

And slayer like motorhead don't care about changing with the times they are what and who they are and if you like them cool nut if you don't they don't give a fcuk.... They are basically the thrash version of motorhead... I love them for it... I do think they had/ have many years ahead of them, they are an awesome force live..... Dan died 3 days before the Repentless tour hit Toronto after an injury weeks earlier. Dan had mad respect for Slayer and went nuts trying to figure out how we could wheel him in on his death bed to see the show lol. I was a mess w his death but with his ticket raised in my fist, I screamed for the both of us at my first Slayer concert without my bud. At his funeral I put his Slayer ticket in the casket w him. Dan's band opened for Anvil back in the day then he introduced me to Merciful Fate at a small club where I got kicked in the face surfing. Our final concert being Judas Priest w Anthrax where he exclaimed "fucking wait till u see Slayer man"...RIP Dan

No, I genuinely think Tom really wanted out because of the way Kerry dictated the character of the band. It's obvious that Tom and Kerry didn't get along well, with Tom being more cool-headed and Kerry being the kind of guy who doesn't know when to stop.

I have seen great bands get run off the stage because when Slayer is on the ticket no one wants to hear that other shit.

slayer s my favorite band of all time. they music noisy but melodic i like that. no 1 can compare they music. unlike the other band its very noisy i hate that!
