😀 A BIT ABOUT US:
We’re Marianne & Chris, a happily married couple from the UK. Marianne is a living kidney donor to her best friend, and realising that life was for living and never really knowing what’s round the corner - we decided to fulfil our dream of travelling full time.
So in March 2018 after the kids had left home, we sold our belongings, rented our house and moved into our campervan called Trudy. We set off to see the world and after vanlifing around Ireland and Europe, we grabbed our backpacks and spent 5 months exploring Central America.
Feeling like we needed a challenge, we planned the ultimate van life adventure! In Jan 2020 set off to drive around the World from UK to UK. But after arriving in Turkey, covid caught up with us and closed the borders, so we had a wonderful 18 months exploring this special country. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.
We hope you enjoy coming with us, and we’ll continue to share our real adventures and hope you feel inspire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.
Hope you enjoy this weeks adventure - Often the most beautiful places have become very touristy - Which do you prefer the touristy place or places that are not as known and harder to get to. Leave a comment and let us know, we'd love to hear. Also were you able to watch the laughter therapy without laughing !!! 😂. C&M xx
Indeed - we are heartbroken with the whole world ... we have shared the details of some organisations Turkiye on the ground who are helping 💔🙏
I think you guys edited out the usage of cannabis during the "laugh therapy" lol. J/K
@@TREADtheglobe So sad what happen in Turkey. Any update of your friends over there? I travelled Turkey thru you and your vlogs throughout lockdowns and your stay.
You made so many friends as you traveled around Turkey. I hope they are all safe. I hope their homes are secure.
Literally couldn't stop laughing again after that last clip! You guys are amazing and we loved our time together in Baja paradise. Thanks for sharing our channel. Safe travels and hopefully see you down the road 😎
Our pleasure! And we know we will. meet somewhere again - Happy Travels 🌺

That camp ground to me, is a little bit of paradise.
Had been (on video) in this paradise before, with Eva and next meridian too, great that Eva took you there!!!
yea, i was thinking about that cow poo too! great drive!
As someone who has been very adventurous and traveled a lot, watching your videos gives me chills, to be honest. Because I lost myself living in a city instead and not following my true calling and having a more exciting and adventurous life. You bring a lot of inspiration, positivity, and a unique perspective on life. Thank you for creating these videos and sharing them with us :) Wish you all the best.
You have reached a beautiful a and relaxing place, and you have enjoyed a two week vacation from the road. That is a real blessing. 😊😊😊
I hope and pray all your friends in Turkey are safe after the earthquake. What a tragedy
Feeling heartbroken - we have shared a post in the community page 💔
Hi so nice to see you two having fun 🤩

I’m really happy your enjoying Mexico, they are nice people over there.
Epic, splendid and beautiful ❤❤❤
Holly smokes, that's some gorgeous place there.
great
Wow what a beautiful place, looks amazing , I'm watching from cold damp london , stay safe love your videos guys much love ❤
Epic!!! That so reminds me of my favorite hangout place when I go visit Panama❤👍
So cool! We love these little places that you can really fall in love with and keep in your little book of special places !! 🌺
Loving this trip. What a gift to come upon this oasis. I will
be there one day.
Interesting trip in Baja, be careful and stay safe.
Beautiful!
The dry river beds are really 2 things - underground rivers and rain runoff. During the rainy season the flash flood waters and mountain runoff fill the riverbeds.
Sometimes the rivers will flow above ground but it's kinda like the Hoover Dam overflow- rare.
Praying for Turkey !!!! Hope all your friends you made there are all blessed and hopefully are okay.If you could give us an update on your friends made in Turkey
Thanks Lucila - we have just added a post in the community 💔💔💔
Türkiye selamlar kardeşim sağolasın teşekkürler
I love it.
That Rancho San Dionisio is so beautiful and what a surprise! I always thought Baja was just sandy rocky desert. I never knew there were mountains and greenery!
Hi Barbara - Us too !! Yes it was a real oasis 🌺
What a great video, brings a big smile to my face. I cannot imagine a better good time than what you had at Rancho Dionisio and the saying at the end is very true, good job.
My kind of paradise too! Thanks for sharing.
EPIC👍👍👍
What an amazing spot guys!
well that was a surprise going up that motorway standard road [ha ha ] to come out to that breath-taking scenery. great people to hang out with. but no wine at the barbeque, shame. tremendous video
Hey guys , as always good job, that Sun looks so wonderful. Anyway take care , and although its a little late happy New Year. Lori
Thanks!
THANK YOU so much this is so kind of you and very much appreciated - Chris & Marianne xx
Hello Ambassadors
This was a yet another beautiful location you have been. Mountains, rivers, valleys, sea are all contributing our life spans , don't you think!
Loved it loved it. I am glad you are there doing this.
Thank you. Be safe 👍👍🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷👏👏😊💕
It really is a important to have water 🌺
Baja is the safest place in Mexico. We go to South of it to Cabo for vacation. The weather is great in the winter it's a desert area.
Safest is a relative term. Twenty people were murdered in one day in December.
@@jayt4465 That's scary. Were all these murders in one area?
@@NotTooExtreme I got the story wrong from the Mexican Daily Post. It was titled "20 People Murdered in One Day in Baja California, Sonora and Guanajuato". I don't think Sonora and Guanajuato are in Baja California.
As someone who has been living in La Paz for the last 15 years, this episode started with a fun puzzle trying to recognize places. The big whale tail used to be the place where I knew I really entered La Paz as the sewage plant was close by and you would get a big wave of ehhh.... a particular scent would hit you. The old road to Los Cabos that you did is one of my favorite drives. El Triunfo was actually a very successful mining town and was quite large in its day (early 1900s I think) and supposedly the chimneys of the smelters (that you can still see) where designed by Gustaf Eiffel (yes, from that other tower). When driving you see oncoming traffic with hazard lights on, they warn you of an oncoming problem (an accident of something but usually cattle on or near the road). The thing to do is when you pass that hazard to warn oncoming traffic in the same way for a while (a kilometer or two). On washboard roads, counterintuitively GO FASTER! With regards to snorkeling with whale sharks, check with your tour guide. For now, tours are cancelled due to there not being enough whale sharks in the area, due to the strong winds.
Thanks Robert 💕
My first time seeing one of your videos. What fun! I'm wondering how you determine ahead of time if your van is going to be able to navigate a particular road. Oh! That's the amazing farm that Nick and Mathilde visited. It's so cool how you all influence each others' travels. And it's fun to see places from different perspectives.
Good question! We tend to go with it and turn around if we need to !! We were brought up to try and if you fail - at least you tried!!! But not trying is giving up !! LOL 🙌🚐🌺
When I was a teen and my parents and I went all over Mexico proper in 1968, dad put a cattle guard on the front of our old Chevy 3/4 ton pick-up with the camper on top. Did not want to hit a burro or a cow at night! Deer are bad enough but imagine hitting a cow. We never hit any animals.
So much going on!
How many UA-camrs does it take to change a light bulb......
Well unless your Baja you've not much chance as it would seem most of the UA-camrs are there!
Great content guys I always thought Baja was red hot all year round. Ben & Chesca were saying how cold it can be.
Wishing you well!
Yep the weather at night and from the top to the bottom differs for sure - but we are on a beach with Ben and Chesca at the moment !! It is lovely and hot ... well except the water !!
I wanna join you to swim with sharks and whales and everything!!
Whenever we went to a restaurant with Nala I used to tell them that she was a puppy on the phone and when arriving everyone would freak out, but she was a puppy hahaha
Thank you Stay safe
What a lovely place to stay. All those fruit trees! 8'd be in heaven. Too bad the cows can poo in the river. Gotta sanitize your water.
Cows on the road! Like you said, they and the road to the mountains were a real Georgian throwback! 😲😲
But a destination well worth the effort. What an idyllic place they have created. It's like a Mexican Miracle Mountain! Thank you for bringing us along, and sharing your travels and laughter with us! ❤️❤️😎👍xx
Yes - Miracle mountain !! Perfect description !! Oasis and friends ... you can't beat it 💕
Sorry MariannE, Japanese vehicles rarely need repair. The taxes after 100km on the clock ensure all cars are newish. We travelled in an old motor home around Okinawa 😁😎(airbnb) that the owner transferred from Tokyo to avoid them, but he had trouble finding help/parts 😳 😘
Thanks for the tip Mariann !!
Hola 👋from southern New Mexico🌶️🌵...we have what is called open range (where the cattle) are or can be eating next to the road. here. So if you go over a cattle guard be aware especially at night it's hard to see a black Angus 🐮. I like the out of the way places you go to. But anywhere you go I will watch. I enjoy your vlogs. Angels all around you and Trudy. You might want to get a wrench and tighten all the nuts and bolts under Trudy after the wash board road driving.😊
Your editing is also "amazing".... so professional. Do you do it yourselves or do you have someone abroad who looks at all of the film you have taken, cut it up then stitch together all the best bits? I would imagine that it would take time to do this for every vlog..... and the incidental music is always perfect.
Loving your travels😊
Hi Brian, the first 4 years Chris did 2 videos a week and about 12 hours on each video and it was really not sustainable as we are on the road full time - but we have now reduced to one video a week and also started working with an editor to do the final bits - Chris still spends 12 hours to cut it up and choose the music though as this is his creative brain (and it is very hard to give a project away!! ) We are delighted you are enjoying the videos and noticing the work that goes into it !! Thank you - Marianne 🌷
Trudy is a good girl she def looks after you guys 🫶 what a beautiful tranquil place 👌And as always you bump into some really cool people ❤️
Thanks Paul - we have just sent a voice message on Insta too xx 🌺
I got the message thanks ❤️ it’s brilliant to hear your voice Marianne esp when you say my name lol.. Hopefully one day soon I can meet the 2 of you and have a good old chat 🫶
Lets make that happen !! It would be great to meet you both - maybe in the UK? I will be sharing meet ups on the Patreon Page very soon xx
Hello Tread the Glob awesomeness, I was wondering where in all your travelling has truly been your favourite place to visit.
This is a hard question - which we get all the time ... but depending on city, village, sea or forest, mountain or coast ... we just can't answer !! Where is yours?
@TREAD the globe I haven't travelled out of Australia, but here in Australia, I would say Melbourne, I loved Melbourne, and our capital Canberra would be second to see. Our coastal side on the south east side of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria in Australia are beautiful, and so is the whole of Western Australia. We do have many in land sites to see to that are worth the look at also. The one place I would love to start seeing overseas would be the whole of the UK and istanbul in Turkey.
Having followed you from the start of covid lockdowns and both of you stranded in Turkey on those times , and I travelled with your vlogs almost all places of Turkey . When the devastating earthquake happened , I thought about you and the friends you made there . Hope you can update us about your friends in Turkey , and places you've been there that is stricken by the earthquake.
Thank you Margarita - we are working behind the scenes and will be sharing a video soon - our friends are ok (heartbroken) and we will continue to support them as best we can 💔💔🙏
Oh, there's Eva and Vilk..
A word of advice when going on any type of roads like these, you may want to talk to each other about possible hazards that may occur. Why not stay at a close enough distance so you can see each other incase of emergencies.
Ben Meksika'nın şehirlerini merak ediyorum, turistik yerlerde olabilir tabi, güzel bir yolculuk diliyorum. 👍👍👍👍🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷👍👍👍👍
Japan don't really do old cars. Their MOT system is really severe. So get Trudy done before you get there.
Thanks for the tip - she is already booked in 👍
🥰🥰
Don’t worry about running into the cows on the road…they herd you coming, and decided to moove 🐄
There have been major earthquakes in Turkey. I wish you would send your best wishes
We are so sad for what has happened in Turkey. We travelled the affected areas extensively and met so many of the lovely people who's lives have been changed by this weeks events. If you want to donate we have shared links on how people can help on our UA-cam Community and other social media. Sending much love & prayers to the Turkish people.
@@TREADtheglobe Thank you. I just saw your post on Facebook. We are so sorry
We are loving your journey! And are not planning a baja trip too! We were wondering if you prefer Gaia or onX for roads and camping locations? Currently we have Gaia and really like that it still works with no service, but have not tried onX?
We use iOverlander and have a cell service through a wifi hotspot - details in the video descriptions
Efendim teşekkürler youtube destek beyeni bıraktım 💯
Narianne and Chris Eline emeğine sağlık bu güzel vlog için kolay gelsin hayırlı işler....👍👍👍👍
tyfs
Was bec & eamon close by?
Turkey needs help.💔
👍👋🏻
🍀👍🍀👍🍀👍🍀👍
🌹🌹🌹🌹😍
A lot of Americans retire to La Paz and start a small business. There are more Americans in La Paz than Mexicans.
hey there are earthquakes in turkey wont u do anything like u do for the tutles
or humans are less important than turtles
Hi Nasil - The earthquake is a disaster and our hearts are broken for Turkiye and Syria. We decided not to set up a GoFund me campaign like we did for the Turtles because Gofundme take a % and every £ matters so we have been sharing the links so that people can donate directly. There are already official website for aid set up. Sending much love from us
Hmm. Eva and Tom both single... Just saying!! 🙂
LOL !
