When I retired inn 1998 I took a trip to Oregon, I also took my bike, I cycled down 101 from the state border to Red Lodge just outside Lincoln city. My cycling came to an end there, I was visiting my oldest friends when I went down a step to their house, the step collapsed under me. The result was a badly sprained ankle twice it's normal size, No more cycling. The point of this story was I was ferried around by my two sets of friends and saw far more of Oregon than I would have on my bicycle. I went to where Captain Cook landed, over the bridge at the 'smallest harbour' in the world Saw the super lighthouses, fell in love with Seaside where Lewis and Clarke's journey across America ended, The first Europeans to do so. Ate fabulous seafood Dunwich crabs and Diablo oysters, went to the City of Roses, Portland and went up to the Columbia River the state line with Washington. The only downside I saw was the stripping of the trees of the temperate forest leaving swaves of ugly barren patches. Oregon's Pacific coast is wonderful. Carry on having a great journey I am looking forward to more travel tales. Oh, I almost forgot the whales which migrate up the coast.
Omg such a great movie I love ❤️ it even my kids who are 45 and 41 love ❤️ this movie The goonies I love the part where they go hey you guys!!!!!! And yes the kid in us love ❤️ good movies that reminds us of the good days of our childhood stay blessed stay healthy stay strong🫶🏽❤️🦋
I went to high school in Oregon. The coast is such a great place to sit and relax (or brood). The sea spray and overcast skies really makes for a mood.
Your zest for life is so wonderful. When you were paddling in the ocean and laughing it made my day….keep safe and thank you for sharing your life and travels
Glad for you guys that you got time for the OR coast. It is absolutely stunning and unique. If you come down trough OR again are you welcome to park by our house outside Portland. Dane living in the US. LOVE your fun, and cheerful videos.
As an ex Brit living in British Columbia, Canada my wife & I have travelled this coast line several times in an MGB convertible, great road for convertible driving.
Don't hate me - never seen the Goonies! You're nearly where my wife and I had our honeymoon - Seattle! Thanks again for a great video - the miles you drive really put driving in the UK into perspective!
1000,000 miles congratulations 🥂🥂🥂🥂poor Trudy ..!!! She’s an absolute trooper…best advert ever for fiat camper vans…they should be paying you both …!!!!
There are some scenes of Goonies that were also filmed at Goat Rock where the Russian River comes out to the ocean and very close to Bodega Bay! Goat Rock Beach | Especially at the end of the movie.
That's brought back great memories of watching the Goonies my self as a teenager and then with my children (not children anymore😃) now I'm soon to be a nanna I look forward to watching It again with my grandchild .Thank you for the great vlogs I look forward to them every week ,it looks like yer having a blast ,so looking forward to when ye get to Alaska.
It’s amazing and a bit surreal to have met you both, and Trudy, at the coast of our current home, in Turkey, and now to see all three of you on the coast of our beloved Oregon, our home for 18 years! ❤️
Congrats on those 100k miles! When we were doing RV life in the US we sadly had to avoid CA for the gas prices and that was back in 2018, I can only imagine how it is now. The Pacific is amazing indeed! Wow! Wish we were there with you! The goonies were awesome! Enjoy Seattle! Well, and the antarctic!
Thanks Friends xx We wish you were with us too - maybe a reunion ... speak soon and can't wait to see your faces xx Love M + C xx And thank you for keeping an eye on the channel whilst we were off grid - xx 💜
GOONIES FOREVER! I never got how the whole town never at any time realised there was a pirate galleon moored in caves under the town....lol A great vlog cheers!
Interesting...the Jeep in the movie was a manual transmission (could see it when Mama Fratelli was driving it), but this one is an automatic. They must have used a few different Jeeps or something. Also, interesting how the actor who plays Brand, Josh Brolin, would become one of the biggest villians in movie history, Thanos. He was also Cable in Deadpool 2. Great video as always!
Love the Oregon Coast. Glad you got your Goonies fix, I loved that movie too. I tried to live in Florence, Or. there on the coast for 6 mo. during Winter. My head could not take the storms moving in and out, too many headaches. I'll just have to keep it as a non-Winter destination, it's so beautiful. Have a good week ahead, enjoy!
I guarantee you not going to get the boys tea bagging the water. The Pacific waters is cold, you need a wet suit. I am surprised Mary Anne is getting her Lady parts in there. Grea video. Be sure to enjoy the seafood and chowder of the PNW ( Pacific North West )
What a lovely video this was ambassadors! Your laughs at the beach gives me energy. I have to be honest but have not seen goonies. Now it is my " must watch list" A couple of points; I do not recall the date but once there was a Tsunami warning there and people run to the shore to watch it and did not see what they were expecting to see, like 5 - 10 feet or 20 feet waves. They all are disappointed and went back, thinking that there was no Tsunami. However, tsunami hit there and created only 2 inches of waves ( coming from Japan, therefore it was dispersed). Now, Geologists are worried that some people will believe that the Tsunami is nothing to worry about and will be at the beach, however, this time it may create a disaster that may claim lifes. St. Helen is 1980 May 18, I recall this due to my birthday is being on May 17. The volcanologist died there just to get one more reading ( of the released gases, Sulfur especially). He warned everyone to evacuate because he predicted that St. Helen can erupt anytime but himself went ahead for one more measurement and got killed that horrendous explosion. Sorry, the stories were long. However, thank you for taking us with these lovely trips for FREEEE. love you guys. Be safe🇹🇷🇹🇷❤️❤️💗💗👍👍👍
Thanks Nick - we appreciate your information and love that you are so passionate about teaching others !! You should have a Nick the Rock Guy youtube channel - I would watch !! Love from us and thanks again xx
going to be so interesting for me from next episode onwards, we drove from Seattle to Anchorage via the Cassiar Highway and through the Yukon via Dawson City and the TOW highway. Loving all your adventures and yes, the miles ne drives in America are insane
*Excellent* shout taking US 101 over Interstate 5! Frankly, since Astoria was a non-negotiable, I don't think the interstate would have saved much time after driving inland and back out to the coast. Northern California and Oregon has such a gorgeous and rugged coastline! 🤩🤩 Welcome to Sticker Club, Terry and Kathy! ❤️❤️ Watching Chris recapture his childhood had me grinning so much my cheeks hurt! 😁😁😁 -Goofballs-, I mean, Goonies never say die!!! Love that Astoria is celebrating their film history. She's a real gem, that town. ❤️❤️😎👍xx
Awwh it was so great to meet up - I hope we can do it again !! Yep Terry and Kathy are a great addition to the Tread Tribe 🌷 and the sticker tribe !! xx
You'll need to stop in Hope BC when you get to Canada to see the Rambo filming locations. we the there in early June, it was raining that day so the hike up the mountain and falls was close. Maybe you get a better day. Hope is on Hy3/TransCanada Highway Loving your videos If you have any questions on the Canadian Rockies, we just did the road trip in May/June 2022
Its a great video with showing the memories from movies which are still alive to see for the people.thnx for it.i will definately see the movie goonies soon.bye tke care
Glad you like the Oregon Coast. Cannon Beach has been our favorite coastal destination. Yes the ocean water is always cold here . You’ll only see surfers with their wet suits brave the ocean. You mention in the start of the video that campgrounds start at $60. Many are cheaper , Like state parks are around $30 a night with a hookup. Included are nice restrooms with showers. Forest Service campgrounds are around $ 20 per night , but no hookups available.
Tho anywhere in the Pacific could have a Tsunami your particular Tsunami warning is a real genuine LOCAL one. The Cascadia Subduction zone runs from Vancouver Island in Canada, all of Washington, all of Oregon down to Eureka in California. Any place that the Cascade Volcanoes exist. Northern part averages a Mega Quake causing a Tsunami about 500 years & southern part 250 years. The last one occurred Jan 26,1700
Wow - thank you for the information - we can not believe the weather / climates that we have been through - the diversity in North America in Vistas and landscapes / weather etc - have been astounding !! Speak soon - Marianne xx
You are in my favorite part of the US! Love watching your videos every Sunday, it makes my day! When you head back down from Alaska don't miss Multnomah Falls just outside of Portland in the Columbia Gorge, you won't regret it!!

Great video y’all “HEY YOU GUYS “ love the goonies
I love the Goonies....seen it a bunch of times! "Holes the size of Motza Balls"! (About jeep bullet holes) 😅
In Astoria, OR you can view the Goonies house. It is privately owned so you can’t go in but you can view the outside.
What a trip and more to come. Sold up ALL your belongings, except your house, good move and very shrewd move 👍

Good Morning!! So lovely to see my favorite travelers!
Wow , MikMikTV watching here 😍😍
you shouldve gone up hwy1 from SF to Ft Bragg and then turned up hwy101. Russian river and Mendocino areas are not to miss.
BTW if you want sun then Oct is the best time to visit Nor Cal coastline.
I realize you guys are (or were) in a rush because of Alaska's short window of optimal weather...and while I haven't done it, I know it's a haul even from the Northwestern US but I do feel like, at least on video you seemed to fly through Oregon's coast and unless I missed something you missed Olympic National Park in Washington which you were right there... Also, you seemed to have skipped Austin? Love you guys but you are skipping some of the best parts of the "meal" to get to dessert. Just an observation. Still loving what you do show us! Thank you!
Yep our time allowed in North America with a foreign vehicle on this trip meant we had to rush some parts - and the rules changed whilst we there for filming in NP ... but we hope to come back one day and do the PanAm 👍
You should ate in the casino, most have buffets. $20
Great tip !! Thanks Todd
Spectacular, awesome and amazing 😻
