We’re Marianne & Chris, a happily married couple from the UK. Marianne is a living kidney donor to her best friend, and realising that life was for living and never really knowing what’s round the corner - we decided to fulfil our dream of travelling full time.
So in March 2018 after the kids had left home, we sold our belongings, rented our house and moved into our campervan called Trudy. We set off to see the world and after vanlifing around Ireland and Europe, we grabbed our backpacks and spent 5 months exploring Central America.
Feeling like we needed a challenge, we planned the ultimate van life adventure! In Jan 2020 set off to drive around the World from UK to UK. But after arriving in Turkey, covid caught up with us and closed the borders, so we had a wonderful 18 months exploring this special country. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.
We hope you enjoy coming with us, and we’ll continue to share our real adventures and hope you feel inspire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

Your videos are amazing. My son and I started watching you during lockdown. You have both inspired us to travel long-term, and that's what we will do (starting in just one week!). 3 months in Turkey (inspired by you), then onto Uzbekistan and all of Central Asia. I lost my wife 12 years ago, and have brought my son up alone. He's 16 now, and we are looking forward to our long adventures together. We're ethnically Pakistani but born in the UK and so can relate to a lot of your comments and humour. Keep up the amazing work, and content creation. And above all, thanks for sharing your lives with us and inspiring us to also explore the world 🙏🏻🙏🏻💚💚

Orange blossoms, portakal çiçekleri in Turkish and azahares in Spanish. It's one of the most amazing scents in the world. How lucky you are to come to Turkey at such a wonderful time.
What a surprise! Our daughter lives in Cheddar and as we live in Yorkshire it was lovely to see all the familiar places.
We try to get down every 6 weeks or so to see our grandson growing up.

The British people are driving definitely wrong side of the road and wrong influence to Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong. Sweden is the only country which realized they were drive wrong side of the road and started driving right side of road, however the Brits are the most brave people on earth, because of Magna Carta in June 15, 1215 and it came from the most powerful tool which is the one and only English language.

I am looking for an insurance company to insure the damages to my car, not only third party (which is compulsory insurance and will do that at the border). It is a blessing to be your age and still have your parents around. It’s rare in the U.S. for that, but lucky for me…I’m Asian and my grandparents will probably outlive us all. LoL.

I go back a long way. We used to go to cheddar and our picnic was a year old trickle made in one of the shops opposite the caves, with homemade butter and fresh rolls nothing better. Buy 1974 I was driving myself to Cheddar with my sister and friends to pick the first strawberries. We lived just outside Bath.

Those strawberries, it reminds me of the time we got some from one of those roadside stalls. Freshly picked and sitting on the stand in the sun. The smell from the bag in the car was incredible and they were warm and tasted amazing. A world away from the rock hard fruit wih hardly any flavour you get from the supermarkets.

I hadn't realised that Chris was a Wurzel. I originate from the West Midlands, but have a Sister who deserted to Burnham on Sea, Somerset so small UK world, I guess. Marion looked the business for the wedding despite being full of Cheddar Cheese. However, no PORK PIES guys, come on. 😉🤦🤷😁

My husband was “stranded” in Denmark for Christmas 2020 because of the lockdown restrictions. We celebrated Christmas in May 2021. It was our youngest’s first Christmas too (we did proper first Christmas with my parents on the day then did second first Christmas in May. As well as my birthday which was less than a week before our Christmas lol).
This year and last year we then had Danish Christmas and English Christmas lol.
So I absolutely get the need for a proper Christmas!

Nothing wrong with Christmas lunch at different times of the year. Our family was only ever together at Easter, so we had Christmas dinner, gifts and pulling crackers on Easter Sunday! It meant the world to us when we did it.

No - I am lucky enough to have many best friends !! Kate who I donated a kidney to has just been out to visit us in Turkiye ... but is a little camera shy !! LOL - Maybe one day I can get her on camera - she did however allow me to share her on my free weekly newsletter !!

I really enjoy all of your videos and this one was delightful! Watching you celebrate Christmas in April brought a smile to my face. I'm so glad you got to spend time with your family. My family and I have lived abroad for many years. A couple years ago we had Thanksgiving in July as we were visiting family and friends. Of course, we ate the American traditional Thanksgiving with "turkey and the trimmings." My best friend is from a Korean background so she made bibimbap, kimchi, gimbap, and galbi. Another family joined us. They are from east India and her husband cooked delicious chicken curry and other dishes. We had a huge international feast and we had loads of fun. It has become a "friend tradition" every time when we go home for visits.
Keep up the amazing work, and uplifting content creation. Rruga te Mbare which means safe travels and have a good trip in Albanian. (We live in Albania)

Can you help me and my other half we used to go to a night club in Cheddar but can't remember the name of it it was about 40 ish years ago. We lived not far away from Cheddar so about 15 of us went on our motor bikes for a night out we had a great time we watch you all the time so keep safe and enjoy your life.

I find it takes me about half an hour to get used to driving on the continent ( driving on the right), but it takes me a lot longer to get used to driving on the left in the UK.
However, remember ...
The foreigners drive on the Right side of the road.
In the UK we drive on the CORRECT sde of the road.
