Ryan! Former cook at Michelin restaurants here. When cooking steaks, don't sear with butter. You're going to burn the butter and it will become rancid. Sear with an oil that has a high smoke point, like peanut, canola, rapeseed, or a mix of olive oil and canola.
Then, once one of the sides are seared and has that nice colored crust, flip the steak and then add your butter, herbs, and garlic and then start basting.
Never sear with butter!
Hmm. Never heard of rapeseed oil. 🤔
@@JustMe-ub9yo Never heard of Vegetable oil?
@@JustMe-ub9yo Canola oil is rapeseed, part of turnip family
@@JustMe-ub9yo Lol how
You’ve proven that you don’t need millions of subs to be a really good UA-camr
Would be nice is more people subscribed tho. Hard to believe he doesn’t have more! Great content. I watch as soon as videos drop.
@@JC-rf2yu fax
@@JC-rf2yu he has grown quite quick. I remember not to long ago he was at 100k subs.
@@JK-ke9wb I remember when he had >20k subs
He’s well on his way.
Here's what I love: 1) Big props to your on point editing. You keep it interesting and engaging. 2) Your laid back approach yet adventurous style to check out the local vibes. Skateboarding was awesome! We did that nightmare LONG hike to get to the trailhead so that was fun to see. 3) Hanging plant makes it feel SO homey! 4) Though I dread cooking every.single.day your food looks yummy and I want to watch! :) When you make it up to the Colorado Springs area I've got you covered with ideas and adventures and sweet camping spots!
😍
I have a friend that just moved to Colorado Springs.
With Mav blowing up and reducing his video outake I’m tuned in regularly over here thanks Ryan
Sameee

UA-camrs lose that relatable shit once money starts flowing in
You guys get it.
Me too
facts Mavs uploading once a week so watching Ryan makes up for the almost daily uploads
Your videos are my go-to entertainment when eating dinner. Good stuff Ryan
Aloha Ryan - Not too long ago, I remember watching while you were at 84,000 subscribers and today you are at 165, 000!!! Which is not surprising because your video content, your editing, the places you take us, the meals you prepare is so relaxing & exciting all at the same time. From way back when, I love how it’s always been you saying “we’re” going here & “we’re” doing this, it makes us feel like we are a part of this once in a lifetime van life adventure!! Thank you Ryan.
Did you take 525 c
@@RvDavy what are you talking about tf is 525c
@@RvDavy i will say tho she do sound drunk 😂
Can you believe he double subs in less than a year!!
Love the video! If you want to REALLLY upgrade that filet experience, reverse your cooking order. 45 minutes at 225 degrees in the oven, followed by a 1 minute sear on each side...makes LITERALLY a perfectly cooked medium rare steak. Called the "reverse sear" technique and it's foolproof and the best I've ever had. Cheers!!
I've been binge watching all of your videos since last month when i first came across your channel. Love every single moment of it! You're an amazing content creator & most importantly a genuine person. Always here supporting Ryan! 1000000 subscribers next!
It’s been rough lately but these uploads are genuinely my safe space

You keep it so real, the good, the bad and the everyday stuff make your vids so genuine and more fun to watch. They don't feel contrived like others do. “I don’t want to eat anything too big because I am preparing something delicious tonight”….proceeds to order over a pound of food 😂😂

Yo ryan!! love the videos. Pro tip: put the skate board sideways on your back inbetweeen the bag and your back. use the straps to keep it there!! helps a ton with stability plus you can still keep your bag packed!
Take your time! I love this, let's go!
Greetings from France! You're a source of inspiration for me and my 11 years old son. Keep it up and just stay authentic as you are!

Love your videos man. I always tend to watch your videos when I’m having dinner.
Intresting details from the McDonald's drive by! You bring every video to an special event, look at this sunny day and woke up in fully snow covert van. 👍👍
This was a great video! Really enjoyed it.
what's cool is all the comments about people eating while they watch ryan's videos. i also usually find myself eating while watching these vids. and that means there's probably a chance that when you're here eating with ryan, you're also probably eating with someone else out there. you, a stranger, and ryan and his video. that's kinda a nice thought.
200K subs are closing is so fast what the hell, good on you ryan. Really love your vids
Always excited for the next vid especially when it’s 20+ mins! Keep it going Ryan! ✊🏼
always so fun to watch!!! Thanks so much
Awesome new video posted by my favorite van vlogger!
key west...seattle...Carmel...Filet mignon, my favorite cut of meat. I forgot how stunning the landscape is in Sedona. The shops have a lot of good goodies!
Hey Ryan, I enjoy all your videos. I’m still building out my van I have the electrical done lifted 3 inches roof rack lights solar. It’s funny I live in Vegas. My favorite place is Sedona 342 miles away from where I live I’m not full-time in my van, but will get there soon. You’re an inspiration I follow you chrome from van city, van life and about 10 other Van life people on UA-cam it’s always good to watch other people on Van life. You guys teaches a lot hopefully things not to do so we don’t make mistakes. Hopefully I can catch you some time in Vegas. Definitely lunch will be on me. Keep up your great videos, love watching what you do. Your videos are true and honest that’s why I like watching your channel and the other people they watch on Van life, true honesty the only way to be be safe my friend on your journeys, David in vegas a.k.a. traveling Ferret
That made me happy. Thank you.
Thanks again for another great video. Sedona is beautiful.
Here's a suggestion for cooking steak. Forget the oven. Place the steak in a cold pan and bring it up to temp for 2 minutes. Flip. It will not look good but trust the process. Cook on the other side for 2 minutes. Flip. Continue this "constant flip method" every 2 minutes until they are done to your liking. You will ave more control and you will build up a fantastic crust. You can still baste on the last flip.
Quality Van camping
I love watching your vlog so relaxing
Watching and much love from Philippines.
Every time you post it's like going on little mental vacation for me. Thank you for that.

Another amazing one as always
I found your channel today snd ive been binge watching your videos all afternoon.. i love the site seeing you do ... I had a bad vrhicle accident yrs back and had to have spinsl surgery and suffer neuropathy and s bunch of issues that prevent me from doing stuff like this now. Im only 34. But i like watching the experience through the eyes of someone willing to share ghe experience. Thanks for your videos
Love you Ryan! Don’t give up
Love your videos Ryan. It feels like Just 2 buds on the open road 💪🏽🍺
I’m digging your sweatshirt! Seriously might have to get one. You are by far my favorite vanlifer
Sedona! One of the places I want to see this coming summer when I venture out on my 3 month road trip.
I feel you on the Saturday stuff. As a nomad I just stay in the city during the weekend because I don't want to deal with crowds. When I go to popular nature places I always go on a Tuesday or Wednesday and early in the morning. All those people on that hike you went on was insane, my ass probably would have just turned around and came back another time lol
Recently found your channel but I really enjoy it the cooking is my favorite part probably 😊
Ryan!!! you just got 15k more subscribers since you said 150k in the video. CONGRATS MAN!!!
love the voyager tat
Always stay blessed out there brotha, your ever in northern California your welcome here
aiting every day for a new video. Amazing work from you
I need to check this place in Sedona. Beauty!
Cooking tip: if you take your garlic pod, slice it in half and then put the sliced piece of the garlic pod on the counter, and then with the back of your knife, hit the outside of the garlic pod and all of the garlic will come out and you can throw the peace light covering away. It saves a lot of time and it’s so much easier.
This series is great. Picking up some merch soon!
we love the videos Ryan still rem when u were at 15k u came a long way proud of u
Haha I was there at 2 k
Random!
i usually cook my filets 2 minutes each side piping hot TO get a good sear, then pan on medium and baste until she looks good. Great video i always enjoy kicking back and watching an episode of the van life.
Yo what is good! Was looking forward to the next one, here IT IS!!
Wow that line reminded me of the beginning of the trip, when everyone was taking pictures with the most southern point
Ur my favorite UA-camr right now and you need to be recognized more! Keep it up
I have some friends in Tucson and it's amazing to me how much different Northern and Southern Arizona are and Sedona is beautiful. Filets looked fine to me.
Watching from South Africa 🇿🇦
The rocks piled up are typically built as 'way pointers' but some people build them as a monument to 'we were here.'
Bro is living my life 😅, I wish keep up the content my man, ill be living that life soon myself, always loved the outdoors and beauty of nature, you'll never be alone earth is there for yuh
Digging the Trip!!
Enjoy your videos so much as your visiting most of the places I have been or wanted to go to. It’s like traveling the country from my couch. Greetings from Parker colorado. I have a RV that I drive 25 foot but have been staying only in Colorado lately due to the gas prices. Take care. Keep on keeping on.
