In this video we're snowboarding for the first time in Thredbo, Australia. Thredbo has some of the highest peaks in all of Australia. We bought the Ikon pass so that we could snowboard here as well as many other resorts across north america and Japan. Our first day snowboarding at Thredbo didn't work out too well, as we ran into high winds and rain. Our second day the winds had calmed down and we decided to do a hike into the alpine. This is our first snowboard hike in Australia and it reminded us of the freedom you feel in the mountains. Thanks for watching! - Спорт
As others have said a little to late boys the snow melts out and washes out quick in Aus even after a descent season! Good to see you guys sripping our alpine 🤙🤙🤙
Hi lads, I’m a 42 year old Dad and I did my first snowboarding lesson last weekend at Manchester Chill Factore. Didn’t realise how knackering it was. Got the DOMS at the moment . My son been mithering me to do it . Love it
once you get the bug... its for life! #shredlife
i love watching videos of people going to places ive been
love the vlogs, especially when there is a hike involved too
Nice video! That place is a winter wonderland! Weather forecasts are also great when choosing whether to wear a windbreaker or a snowmobile suit! ;-)
My friend Mel and I are going to Thredbo in 2 weeks to snowboard!! We have only snowboarded in New Zealand so we are excited to check out Thredbo Australia. Thanks for creating this video so we can see what its like there :)

Boom such a sweet vid, never knew thredbo had that area!!
Great vid man. Love the soundtrack too.🏂👌
3:21 Kevin forgot to watch his beginner tips video before coming here. Always put the board down with the bindings facing down.
you came along way for our shitty snow, i found it funny how there was a typical thredbo crow in the first 20 secs of the video
It was worth it!
You ending up at the Cruiser chair constantly was a sign to go into the Merrits Mountain House... 4-6pm is 'Schnappy' hour(s)!
that looked awesome!
Thredbo yaasss! Defs my favourite resort in Australia!
Good shit lads 😁
Sick edit 🔥
You guys are awesome
That base graphic 😍😍
The base on that Kazu... that and the scotty Stephen's pro model base are so sick.
Joshua Schaffer agreed
Sick video guys! You actually skied powder! What mountain do you like more Thredbo or Perisher?
I am currently saving my money like crazy with the goal to move to thredbo. Im only 6 hours away but I've only been once as a young teen and I've wanted to go back ever since. Now that im 20 IM COMEING BACK! ✌🐨
welcome to Australia's number one my friend. its a Shame i wasn't there at the same time as you
wow TJ riding so confident, yet so edging
Woo hoo IKON !!
You guys have some crazy conditioning, I get so tired when I hike with all my gear and snowboard
next year we waiting you guy here in Chile, you don´t belive the alpine terrain here.
If you snowboard down the trail where the park is just behind the cruiser chairlift where you got stuck you can go down a cat track (it is roped off but it is also the coolest run on the mountain)
>try to get home
>keep coming to the chairlift up.
I know dat feel man. I had that same situation when i was at NozawaOnsen ski resort. It was my day1, whiteout and i was looping one of the lift due to whiteout and snow dumps (missed the markers)
was there about 4 weeks ago and everything was covered in powder. Amazing how much has melted
first!
Lol
I have your new vid in a new tab about to watch it after this vid
Nice TJ! It's almost as if you know exactly when it's uploaded before anyone else. LOL
GoldenSausage Because they deliver great content, tons of people watch, and so the ads everyone sees pays them a small amount per view. They also have Patreon channel that helps support them so they can keep putting out great videos. They have a good product that's worth supporting. They work super hard too, it's no easy task editing like they do every day. I have mad respect for guys like them, and he other producers like them. It's been said if you do what you love, you never have to work a day in your life! They so deserve getting to enjoy the snow with all the work they out behind it. 👊👍😎🏂
my childhood < 3
This is why boots must be comfortable!
Definitely gotta check out Antons terrain park at Thredbo guys you won't regret it!!
5:25 hell yeah that's me
Lol was there on the 2nd of September, conditions were so much better just a couple of weeks ago
went there earlier this season i was gonna book again for this time but booked laax instead haha
Number three for the THIRD!
dude, a month too late!! hope you enjoyed it though. We had huge powder days this year you would have loved it. Golf Course Bowl was thigh deep fresh lines for days.
So...many...rocks
You should go to falls creeek and go down my feathertop cos it’s way steeper than normal Aussie conditions
I have been here at Thredbo a few times and it’s funny how I know where they are
You guys can try ischgl wonderful place.
That mountain looks awesome guys.
3:14 My board made it in this vid! haha
Looks like Whistler !! Next video make hype music?
Cool
Hi Kevin and TJ, would you say I should steer away from getting an All mounting board like the Jones mountain Twin if I want to do tricks? I'm a beginner and struggling to choose my first board after the training boards. I'd like to carve and maybe do some tricks soon
Are you kidding me, IF I WAS THERE 1WEEK LATER I WOULDVE SEEN YOU GUYS
Im going to be in thredbo in a week
Nice
What is the average speed you should be riding at to get decent carves and turns? What speeds are u guys generally riding at?
Anakin Le more of a comfort thing. I personally like to carve at faster speeds. Makes it easier to transition from edge to edge
Is here a video of how to shift your weight so easily when you turn? Like how you’re doing it towards the end of the video?
You guys should google 'the sentinel NSW' if you want to see big Aus mountains!
Good luck getting there. Although if your half way fit its not to bad of a hike.
What are your thoughts on mtnpop rocker?
How long are you going to snowboard in Thredbo for?
Hey guys I have a question for you in your opinion what's the best well rounded board for pow park and basically all mountain ? I enjoy true twin and alot of flex I currently ride a Rome agent. Looking to get a new board this year but can only afford one and really like to spend my time riding the whole mountain I spend a decent amount of time in the park but enjoy cruising through the trees in deep pow just as much.
If you do not see this question I'll continue to ask every couple day tell u do see it thanks in advance
Also I have been riding for 12 years so I wouldn't say I'm a pro by any means or anything like that but I deff don't need a beginner board .
Ride war pig or a capita doa
Mt hotham is really good
Snowboarding for the first time at Mt Hotham this weekend! Mountain looks awesome I cant wait!
@@highgrounder3047 The only thing we struggled with was the drive up, mind you we went in the middle of winter so it might be better for you
Man which do you guys think is better, Thredbo or Perisher!?
perisher
Depends what you're after; perisher has more variety but shorter runs, Thredbo longer runs but less. Perisher does have a higher peak than Thredbo so weather is generally better at perisher
I say both have their pro's. Thredbo has more of a European feel to it with the Village and also the more mountain like terrain. Thredbo has amazing long runs that I wouldn't say are very good for learners, although there is still plenty of space to learn. Perisher is amazing as it has a lot more chairlifts to try out and basically more runs, but the runs are much shorter, it also has a lot of places for learners. I say go both!
Thredbo all day, steeper, longer, and in my opinion all round better runs and snow, also less crowded, but perisher is great to learn, especially blue cow
thredbo's good on windy days. perisher puts everything on windhold, but I think perisher is nicer to board in general.
more action need
Hey guys awesome video!
Ps: Does anyone know the name of the song at 8:15 in the car?
Hermitude - Hyperparadise (Flume Remix)
What time of year were you there?
are u guys going to hotham or falls creek?
Thredbo is better
You should do a video about waxing your board
They have
Mou Shindeiru maybe a updated one the other one is a couple years old maybe they learned something new
come to hotham plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Pants! I mean, third?
Tj if u could choose between Ride Helix or Twin pig which would it be?
I have the helix, twin pig will be more forgiving. You cant ride the helix well if you dont man handle it or it will man handle you..
Thanks for the reply! Yea that seems to be the story from what most opinions I’ve read up on about the Helix. My current board is 2016/17 Capita Scott Stevens which is flat profile and was looking for a camber profile board that can handle bigger jumps no probs. I like to jib as well, so yea not sure how the Helix will go jibbing?
what hotel did you stay at?
Accelerator, Perisher. Go as fast as you can
Didn’t fall of the chair lift
go to mt bulla :)
Ah best, gotta pump Flume while you are in Aus
Wait Australia has snow, I'm Australian and have never seen snow wth
Hows Rydges motel :D
rain and wind are terrible, but better than rocks and ice. or not?! )))))
Pretty devo that y'all cut me from the video 😰
Sorry dude! We didn't cut you out on purpose! Some of the clip got corrupted and the audio was missing!
