LCI was the good looking one it had this personality the earlier model didn’t have, 3 series LCIs are always the best. I own a 2011 E90 323i, I don’t know why people say the E46 was better only thing E46 probably has over it is that it’s maybe a bit more pure.

Also, I find the relatively heavy steering actually a good thing because it gives you more control of the car and more feedback through the wheel to know what the car is doing. Like I said before, if you want a car for carrying a lot of water bottles or people there are other options, but if you want a sports sedan that drives like nothing else or feels like nothing else, there´s the BMW.

SuperDigitalDanny Thats correct. The E90 model that came out 2005 had different headlights and rear lights. The hood was different too. This model came out 2009 and was canceled in 2011.

    • @Mrcloc
      @Mrcloc 6 років тому +9

It's better to drive - much more control and fun. The auto is slower and uses more fuel. The auto isn't as locked-in - you either have a sloppy auto or a snappy auto, nothing in between. The manual is extremely nice to drive (not sloppy like the video says at all). The auto makes the car feel very heavy. The manual makes you feel connected to the engine.

I just bought A 2009 BMW 320i business line Automatic its my first bmw after driving a 2006 fiat panda and a 2004 Volvo S60.... But omg this thing rocks. LED tail lights, Angel eyes Xenon, and you just feel soooo great in it. Took it on the German Autobahn yesterday damn 220 kmph without much noise 😱. Think she could of done faster. But 220 was good enough. So took her back to 160. Drives smoothly. Perhaps I'm getting carried away here. But hey!! Its my first BMW. Sure the Volvo was great. But the 320i beats it. Love the speech control button and the navigation thing a lovely toy

@10jmsoccer We most certainly did check the carfax: One owner, no accidents and no issues. We even called the fellow who previously owned the X5 to ask if he had experienced any problems (which he hadn't). After buying the car, it suddenly turned into a lemon. Last week, we spent $1500 on repairs b/c the fan belt snapped, which disconnected the timing belt, broke the alternator and causing a cylinder misfire. Unless BMW consistently ranks high in Consumer Reports, we'll never buy a BMW again.

When I was younger I was never a fan of BMW, dunno why cause there very nice looking cars, one thing I love about this car is how modern it looks, even a 2005 one still looks fairly modern. I am seriously interested in them but I dont know where to start as I dont know much, the most common thing I hear about is timing chains so that'll be noted. I heard one fella say the 2006 models had a better engine then the models from 2008 to 2014, so would a question there be buy newer or older? But these are only things I've heard. I'd personally like to know what the BMW owners have to say, are all the engines notably reliable or are there certain ones that you need to watch. All answers would be appreciated, as I said before I get lynched I dont know much about BMW.

Instead I'm deciding to go for an Accord because I'll be spending almost nothing on maintenance, and I'm actually buying a house for college so I won't be able to afford the car. I believe people deserve whatever they can respect, maintain, and afford... which I can do all of that. So yes, I do. And I never said there was anything wrong with a civic, btw.. -.-

I have a 320i M-Sport 150bhp 2007. So far, its cost me £1600 for cam shaft repairs and a fault on the "VVT" system which caused it to stall plus £800 in repairs on the "breather pipes" (dont ask for more info as I dont understand this one!) which is related to the above. All this in 14 months, not to mention a pair of run flats for the rear are £220 each and the ride on these are shocking (Pirelli's). Overall, fantastic car when it works and I have the multimedia pack also which is great

Just swopped my '57 plate 118d ed manual for a '56 163 brake 320d auto. Very happy - not quite as good on fuel,a bit noisier engine, but wood, ivory leather, elec seats with memory and air bolster, sunroof, i-drive, comfy 16" alloys, low miles, puddle lights - and it feels pdq in sport mode! Curiously, whilst noisier when cold, the engine seems a lot sweeter at high revs, almost a faint howl, compared to 118d ED.

@60gigps3 And even though european manufacturers produce automatic transmissions which are state of the art (like 8 speed dual clutch gearboxes put in small cars), which reduce fuel consumption and improve performance, people still choose to buy manual cars in europe, in pretty much all cars apart from big luxury saloons. In america, automatic transmissions put into cars are really old fashioned, slow, reduce performance, increase fuel consumption, yet, 90% of cars are sold with them.

Wonder why often suggest the lowest diesel in a range. They have nice ones but closer to the top range, and moreover you get more performance if you stick with one of them. Even not talking about the gasoline ones

I like that the manual is a bit disconnected then goes oh get the automatic. Full of connection. If you are buying one of the 3 series 6 pots I think the only way is manual you need to feel the beautiful torqqqque.

This car is a sweet little thing. I own a 325i after all. There´s no other car in the world that drives or feels like this one. Of course if you have an inline 6 engine you will have less interior space, but you have a smoother engine with less cams to drag than a V6, all in the name of performance. That´s why, being an sports sedan it has to give something away in terms of practicality and that is part of its appeal, mind you.

Sorry you have to settle for a car strictly made for the UK market and find it amazing. People who love to drive notice the difference in a Bimmer more so than any other brand. You feel the road, the brakes are amazing and it is an extremely safe vehicle. I love my Bimmer and just because you can't afford one doesn't mean it isn't worth it.

No actually you feel RWD and weight distribution the first time you enter a corner a bit more agresive than normal . that was the first thing i ve noticed when i drove for the first time a BMW .. As for overpricing ... yeah it totally sucks , its like BMW and MB have began a race of who can have the biggest price tag and still be able to sell cars.. They should go(espiacially BMW)back to basics without fancy technology just sheer driving pleasure !

Just make sure you get a 2006 with the updated M47 engine. After that, we got DPF’s and N47 timing chain disasters.

  • @shoelace510

@BadgerinSC 3 series are in line with the C class for pricing... if you pay for E class you might as well buy a 5 series from BMW to compare apples.

Not a very good review car buyer!
Sloppy disconnected gear box? yeah right! Not enough space to get your feet in the middle at the back? that's because its rear wheel drive and not a design problem as you almost suggested, might have been worth mentioning that.

Had one of these, loved it, but felt the interior was cheap looking (maybe my problem, since my previous was a 2001 e39). Sold it since it began giving problems (idiot previous owner ran out of battery and messed up the starter) not common for 2008 model. Went for an Audi A3 Sportback, nice price (BMW´s are rather unbuyable here, 1 series starts at 44K us$).The A3 was what I could purchase new without debt, couldn´t be happier. Hope someday to have one of these again...or both, german cars rule.

because diesel is a great fuel for a car, a proper diesel will walk straight past a equal size petrol car.
petrol is great fun in a bike but in a car there is no reason not to go for a diesel. bit of a shame that Honda doesnt make a V-Tec diesel, that would be the ultimate diesel in my eyes.
