    That looked like a lovely camp, a little blustery but the lanshan served you well. That sky was stunning. Cheers for taking the camera along 🍀

    Hi Alyn.
    A blustery night !! but what a sunset you had, and well captured on camera. Its definitely a time for gloves when the windchill kicks in.
    Nice one. All the best👍

    Alyn, definitely the best way to get to the summit of Slieve Commedagh (especially if there is some snow❄) and it is a tight pull alright😊 I think the wind is the greatest foe of the wild camper and the greatest ally when the midges are about😊 It does definitely swirl about at height so good shelter can be hard to sustain. A stunning sunset with those vibrant colours captured by the clouds👍 A lovely wee adventure, even if the weather was somewhat rough (though obviously the chocolate and whiskey helped). Always cool to be walking down in the morning after a night out - when others are just heading in👍

      @@gerrymcveigh So right Gerry! It was an amazing walk up and tbh I really enjoyed the night at the top (whiskey and chocolate always help!) Its really blowy up there. I've noticed before but didn't realise it was so sustained. I'll def be back here it was so good.

    Wow Alyn! What a sunset 😍 That route up Commedagh was the first time I ever walked in The Mournes. The climb up Slievenamaddy nearly killed me, definitely put manners on me that day 🤣

What more do you need on a wild camp than a bit of chocolate, whisky, a decent tent and a stunning sunset 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 shame about the wind but that’s Mountains for you ay 😂 never a dull moment! @@walkwatchers yea i've heard good things about it. I'm trying to get the weight of my bag down after my recent wild camp. I always have trekking poles, so it makes sense to look into using a lightweight trekking pole tent ! Did you have to seam seal it?

      @walkwatchers  2 місяці тому

      @@Hiking.and.mountains the Lanshan will def bring your weight down for sure. Havent needed to seam seal it yet but bought seam sealer at the time just in case. I have seen other creators who did it when they bought it but I've been ok so far and im using mine over a year now
