  • In today's video we will share with you our first impressions of the new tent - from brand 3F UL GEAR and it is a LANSHAN 2 Pro tent. As you may know already we have upgraded to a new tent last year - MSR Elixir 2 that is a self-standing model we’d never tried before. And we’ve done several reviews on that including the detailed one. And we were and still are very happy about it after using it during the last summer season, as we think it is a great quality tent. But in the comments below the video reviews we made and in the social media groups it was recommended to us several times to try this Lanshan 2 Pro tent. Mentioning that it is pretty lightweight and at the same time very budget friendly and basically is a budget alternative to the epic ZPacks Duplex that costs 5 times more than this guy. And if you know us we are all about exploring different options especially budget friendly ones and test if they are any good. So we didn’t hesitate long and decided to get this tent and see how it is for ourselves and of course share it with you. As always it will be a first impressions video and not a full review that we are going to do after a season of hiking and testing it for some period of time. Hope you find it useful in some way.
    Where to buy it:
    You can purchase this tent on official website: 3fulgear.com/index.php/produc...
    Or on Aliexpress store: www.aliexpress.com/item/10050...
    This tent comes in green, gray and khaki colors and it has 1 or 2 person options.

    I've got the three-season version and absolutely love it. I tend to run on the warm side, especially when sleeping, so I like it cool and want as much ventilation as possible. The three season version has a large inner mesh tent that is clipped to the outer rain shell. I've been using a Tyvek ground sheet that I bought from Six Moons and love it (after running it through the washer a couple times to get rid of the loud crinkling sound). No problems with condensation. No problems with leaking. I use it for solo backpacking and love the room inside the tent to stow my pack. Shoes live out in the vestibule, which is spacious and more than enough for cooking when the weather is wet or for that first cup of coffee in the AM.
    All in all, I love this tent - it's light, spacious, easy to set up, and I love the weight savings that come from using trekking poles. Only time will how many miles it will last.
    Many thanks for a great video!

    thank you so much for this early impression of the tent. :) I had no idea you could get such a cheap ultra light tent. I am considering the Lanshan 1 Pro for solo travels.. Because my current 2.2KG tent is robust, comfortable and great when you are two people sharing some of the gear weight, but during solo travel the Lanshans seems to offer an incredible weight- and pack-size improvement. I have looked at premium ultralight tents before, but I don't travel enough solo to justify the cost. This might just fit the bill! :) Looking forward to hear your long-term impression of the tent!

    • @WalkingNatureWorld
      @WalkingNatureWorld  3 роки тому

      Thanks, friend, yeah, the solo versions seem super compact and lightweight and for their cost it is pretty hard to beat. We ourselves will still be using our comfortable MSR for long term travel and hikes and looking forward to test this lightweight Lanshan for shorter trips this year. It seems like it should hold up pretty well for such short term use. Hope you will make the right decision for yourself:)

    • @driewiel
      @driewiel 3 роки тому

      I have the previous Lanshan 1 with separate inner, which I prefer over single wall. I'm only 1.75m so size is not a problem. With aluminium pole and pegs it weighs 1150 gram. The nice thing about pyramid tents is you can use the inner nest in a larger outer tent. So I also bought a 170cm high palace in case I want to sit in it with a chair.

    • @WalkingNatureWorld
      @WalkingNatureWorld  3 роки тому

      @@driewiel Yeah, we think now we want to try another Lanshan tent with inner tent and the pole structure as we also like to have the option of setting up only the inner or outer tent separately. It would be nice to compare these two tents.

    • @driewiel
      @driewiel 3 роки тому +1

      @@WalkingNatureWorld I also bought this really cheap teepee tent. nl.aliexpress.com/item/4000712371783.html I think one of the reasons it is cheap is because it only has loops and steel pegs. So you have to get some cord and bungee and modify it yourself to pitch it as it should. I haven't had it in rain yet,. but the quality is actually pretty good tape sealed and everything. I don't expect any problems. Weight isn't bad either for polyester. With 300g pole and aluminum pegs about 1600g? The inner is at least 230cm long. If you like teepee tents then this is a bargain option.

    • @WalkingNatureWorld
      @WalkingNatureWorld  3 роки тому

      Hello, we haven't used it enough yet, only spent one night camping out in it and found the inner walls quite wet and we think that maybe it happened because we had a bit of rain and high humidity that night and morning and is a common issue with single wall tents. It dries very quickly which is a plus. But we will be further testing it and see how it will change from one day to the other and post an updated review this autumn.

    I have the Lanshan 2. Not the pro version. I love it! It’s still very lightweight. It’s only a couple of hundred grams heavier than the pro. For me the advantages are: It’s a two wall tent. Never had condensation issues with it. However have read that single wall tents can be a problem here - especially if your sleeping bag comes in contact with the wall of the tent. Also I have both three and four season inners and can change them for different weather conditions, making it very flexible. Unlike the pro version the two wall version doesn’t need seam sealing - apart from the two tie out points at the sides of the tent. Finally it’s cheaper. Whatever version you go for, I’d always add the footprint. It makes it much easier to set up and will help protect the very thin bathtub floor. I have the khaki version and can confirm it is very stealthy. Great tent and great review. Thanks.

    • @martinerhard8447
      @martinerhard8447 2 роки тому

      the double walled tent has the same condensation. Its just that you dont see it because its on the inner side of the outer wall. But if the inner wall touches the outer wall your sleeping bag will still get wet.
      Why i prefer the single walled version? Because with that one i can wipe down the condensation while with the double walled version i cant because the inner wall prevents me from removing it.
      Also the pro is silnylon and not pu coated nylon so its much much more durable (around 3x)

    • @WalkingNatureWorld
      @WalkingNatureWorld  2 роки тому

      Thanks for sharing, Ivor, we were hesitant between the previous version and the Pro and now we definitely think we prefer the double walls of the tent as we are used to such tents more and know how to deal with them. Now we think we should try to compare these two tents for ourselves.
