Great video! I’ve heard that for strapless bustier styles that you should have no wearing ease at all, would you agree? I’m worried having NONE could cause delicate fabrics to pull or rip. Additionally, if you agree to add no ease, would you do the same for a (layered gathered skirt) skirt waistband? surely it works the same as a strapless top, as in, to hold the weight and keep upright, it should be as tight as possible/no wearing ease. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, strapless bustier styles generally have no wearing ease. It's important that the shapes of the pattern match the shapes of the body, and if they do, it should not ride up. Also, the construction of how the style is made can play into a style that stays in position well. Having the appropriate materials/trims and structure like boning helps the garment stay in position. For a layered gathered skirt waist measurement, this is actually a subjective topic. Many people will feel more comfortable having a small amount of ease on the waist. You don't want too much because that will cause the garment to fall down. However, when a person sits down, the stomach can expand or be distributed differently, and the measurement can become bigger. The amount of ease is super subjective per person, and what feels right to you may not feel right to me. You may like having zero ease and feel comfortable in that.
