JM is very humble nowadays and he has been seen saying stuffs like that to fans a lot. Like every concert he would thank the fans for making him able to produce music two or three times.
To be fair, most artists, (JM included) wear in-ear monitors and cannot actually hear the audience. Fortunately for the crowd, John tends to only wear one in one ear. Unfortunately for John, this will result in serious damage to his ear over time :(
I don't understand how some deadheads can dislike the addition of JM to D&C. Only explanation that makes sense to me is that they are only familiar with John's radio-friendly pop hits and are allowing that to get in the way of enjoying what he brings to the table.
I was at this concert. Section B row 17 (in the middle on the floor, a little further back from this position; close to the stage). I was able to make my way to about 10 feet away from John before I was asked to return to my seat. Going to this concert was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The amount of emotion I felt with every song was incredible and I can say that I haven't had an experience quite like this. John Mayer is sincerely one of the greatest and definitely my favorite.
You know how sometimes you hear something or see something so beautiful it doesn't even need to be put in words? This is exactly that. Loved being at this concert. Was mine and my wife's 7th time seeing JM. NEVER gets old.
I'm so happy that bobby and the drummers and john got together. Some older deadheads ( 49 here) would disagree with me! But this is the guy Jerry talked about so many years ago. " I really hope this thing can continue. Even if it's not the Grateful Dead." Of all the lead guitarist they've tried since his death this is the one who respectfully learned the art of doors and windows.
John Fleshman agree. Seen JM do a few covers of Dead before he joined, was blown away, then he jammed with Bobby on the tonight show then Phil. So impressed. Dead & Company had changed every show. I seen The Grateful Dead and Jerry Garica Band quite a few times, loving every min of Dead & Company!
Wasn't expecting Fire on the Mountain to come in here.. Damm that gave me goosebumps... Love the dead influence John.. Cant wait to see you both times in Philly...
John Mayer is ahead of his time and the most gifted musician to be live on any stage..Such a legend at such a young age and to give the world the best music he was and is gifted with..A sound all of his own and John captivated his own sound and song..great guitar player and his time well spent reaching out and over the world to get his legendary music out in the airwaves..Well..U achieved that part of your profession John Mayer...you are LEGEND..live On
The guys who wrote Tina Turner’s Simply the best had a vision of John Mayer in the future. 🤣 He’s the man! He’s got it all. He’s got the love from the women and admiration from the men. Best musician!! Best singer/songwriter! Best artist! Simply the best!
For a good few seconds I was confused as to why you guys were responding with a "Sam Smith" tour, then I realised that it was a response to someone called Sam Smith :/
@@shweenerdog Wasn't his song, but it was definitely his music. Maybe you oughta broaden your horizons and stop thinking of things in such a black and white manner. Not trying to bash.
Fire on the Mountain ...Rory my cat chose to leave. I thanks for sharing this precious footage... Back in the day, we took a road trip to Saratoga Springs for a concert...the rest is history.
John is a fantastic guitar player......highly underrated......in today's music he is one of the best period ........he stalled out a bit but I'm so glad he got into Garcia because it has put a whole new dimension to his playing.......seems he likes to challenge himself as a guitarist and I cant wait for what's next.
It was on the setlist (it leaked before the show) but during his solo act there aren't a lot of transitions between songs like there is during Dead shows. That would be the reason for the slight clunkiness
If Bobby let John Meyer into the inner circle there had to be a damn good reason....the dude can play and has his own side projects going on......like him and he fits into the Dead motif......
I have throughly enjoyed your uploads. Many thanks! What a great set list. He definitely took it up a notch here. I can't wait to see him when he comes to the UK. Great seats too btw.
I had not heard of Larry Goldings until recently.... and if none of you have, I strongly suggest following him on Instagram and looking him up! You WILL NOT regret it
i spoke to him he said he wanted to give these songs a continuum vibe! except for dear marie! he explodes on dear marie! it felt like hes holding back on songs like this imo
I’m just thinking about how you can judge what a artist is wanting I/e his set list and one of those guitars is not a lead or a rhythm it’s a bass guitar and the a one ☝️ is a lead guitar The man himself and Last but never least you have a rhythm guitarist andbest advice if you don’t think you have a good sense of what your criticizing and you may have meant it to be he’s a very gifted musician all by himself . See my take actually it’s just shhhhh and absorb the mojo of Beauty that your to soul is about and ready to take it in so many things you can open your mind and mouth about in the world 🌍 however you listen and you are just thinking & judging . Listen to the music close your eyes feel the connections between instruments voices high lows the chemistry i is incredible if you let it in .& I don’t do dope and I say partake if you feel comfortable but John Mayer and co. Are just a beat quality natural high and I’m no goody two shoes I have a lot more than five n with purity of this life and its music so try it close your eyes and open the senses try
The Allman Brothers- without the killer guitar duo, soul and guts. what happened to artists that showed us what freedom meant. Is this what American culture is showing the World. Looks more like the reason Hendrix had to leave the USA to get his freak out. As a Canadian I expect more from all of you. I mean where's the show?? I 'm glad I got to see the real entertainers. Prince, James Browne, Sci Fi out grateful dead warriors. Build a wall save your culture. There will be no British Invasion to save you from your wonder bread ways this time. Where has the soul of Motown gone.
I love it when artists/singers reply when someone says they love them and in concerts they don't ignore when people say they love them

My favorite Mayer song followed by my favorite Dead song :)))
Ryan me too brother!

Same here, brother! It was an awesome moment in a great show!
Ive seen him and 38 times and I could go 38 nights in a row!!!
Best I’ve ever seen live. Congrats on being at this one. You knew right away this was a special moment.

John Fleshman lmfao just seen your name 😂😂😂
“There comes a redeemer and he slowly too, fades away”
John Fleshman! You are so right!!!
Hey man don’t count us all out. I’m 65 and think JM grows into it. Every day.
Wasn't expecting Fire on the Mountain to come in here.. Damm that gave me goosebumps... Love the dead influence John.. Cant wait to see you both times in Philly...
I keep coming back to this version over and over for when I’m chillen on my days off

I caught this song right before I checked in for work, great music and a 2hr loadout makes the stagehands very happy !
Dennis Pfeifer what would were streaming/listening from?
It was live, I work at the garden
FIRE!!! FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN! THIS IS AMAZING
Got to say I love this Queen of California, it has a compelling vibe
Wow. Had no clue about Isaiah Sharkey's versatility. He covers the genre bases incredibly well.
The guys who wrote Tina Turner’s Simply the best had a vision of John Mayer in the future. 🤣 He’s the man! He’s got it all. He’s got the love from the women and admiration from the men. Best musician!! Best singer/songwriter! Best artist! Simply the best!
Dude in White Shirt front row is MVP of this show.. just feeling it all!! Cheers To him!
Isaiah Sharkey what a player!
Yes!
Dude, Isaiah's insanely good!
Steve, Pino, & Larry can play anything.
I miss David La B sometimes tho he was SO tasty on Any Given Thursday
Fucking amazing
Can't wait for the Dead & Company tour!
Are they touring again?
Sam Smith yes this summer
Sam Smith - tour started last week. check tour dates here:

For a good few seconds I was confused as to why you guys were responding with a "Sam Smith" tour, then I realised that it was a response to someone called Sam Smith :/
John is a true artist, love all his songs and music, it is so different and comes from his soul
anita jones majority of this video wasn’t his music
@@shweenerdog Wasn't his song, but it was definitely his music. Maybe you oughta broaden your horizons and stop thinking of things in such a black and white manner. Not trying to bash.

Mayer underrated ? really ? who would do so ? . I guess music/instrument illiteracy is real.
Love John's face. Been sour for as long as I can remember. First show I saw was in 2002.
i love how john mayer has a lead guitar player. bringing sharkey made me respect him more, and dont get me wrong i love JM's playing.
I feel that this was a surprise for the rest of the band too. Nice
For sure, you can hear how they slow down for a second and try to adapt to the change in the song. It wasn't smooth but they managed in the end..
It was on the setlist (it leaked before the show) but during his solo act there aren't a lot of transitions between songs like there is during Dead shows. That would be the reason for the slight clunkiness
his voice sounding stronger than ever
He did it just like the Dead always did Scarlet - > Fire -> Scarlet ending...Queen -> Fire -> Queen ending!
That's so rad to see JM playing some Dead tunes on his own!!
Great players all the way around.
my fave dead song. still cant belive ive seen them both live
The playing is awesome as always, but man, john's voice was GREAT that night!
Damn, I'm killing myself for missing this tour.
and Mister Bassman the great Pino Palladino fck good!!!!!
If Bobby let John Meyer into the inner circle there had to be a damn good reason....the dude can play and has his own side projects going on......like him and he fits into the Dead motif......
If Chuck Berry was here, he would've said, "Johnny is being good."
I have throughly enjoyed your uploads. Many thanks! What a great set list. He definitely took it up a notch here. I can't wait to see him when he comes to the UK. Great seats too btw.
Summer is coming
It came, stayed a while and is now shuffling out of town
Maestro!!
wow what a great blend of two universes
Everybody is just having a great time. Awesome
⚡🎶⚡ Ticks ALL the right boxes! Love, love, love!!! 💕 Super video.
JM....This guys a 'MASTER' at building his solo's with incredible taste
zomg those fans in front have no idea. this is sooo awesome!
ugh when he says i love you too ahhh
Also after listening to many many scarlet/fires. The band knew the change was coming
You're too
Good Johnny boy!
this blend fo dead and mayer is awesome...sharkey rocks !
I had not heard of Larry Goldings until recently.... and if none of you have, I strongly suggest following him on Instagram and looking him up! You WILL NOT regret it
11:07 (before/after) FANTASTIC
Omg I adore him.
Queen of Californiaaaaaa :D
Genius
The girl at the beginning, who screams "we love you", and John says ILY back...her squeal kills me! Those panties were soaked! LOL
How have I never seen this before?
Anyone noticed at 9:25 how SJ catches and saves that drum stick 😀
Fave Mayer GD style song + Fave GD song
Does anyone know what year this was? I'm dead. 😭❤ Love, love, love.
Sick
As much as i love steve jordan i think john's previous drummer played songs from BnR better than him
that's fair, it just matched his style better
That lick at 11:21 was extremely tasty
Anyone who went to the concert know if he has an opening act? Also, how long was the concert in total?
the record company played for about an hour
Interesting to see Steve Jordans take on qoc
i spoke to him he said he wanted to give these songs a continuum vibe! except for dear marie! he explodes on dear marie! it felt like hes holding back on songs like this imo
dang that aint bad for a mayer song....
Smoker when played at full speed....
What scales do Isaiah Sharkey use?
Yes
Garcia vibe
🕌👑👰🏼
.
why 3 guitarist ? , one will do the job ?!
laurent o`gorman because Isaiah sharkey is a god and david ryan harris jams like a mofo 😂
why do the dead have two drummers, now that is dumb
There are different guitar parts, one plays acoustic, another lead
I’m just thinking about how you can judge what a artist is wanting I/e his set list and one of those guitars is not a lead or a rhythm it’s a bass guitar and the a one ☝️ is a lead guitar The man himself and Last but never least you have a rhythm guitarist andbest advice if you don’t think you have a good sense of what your criticizing and you may have meant it to be he’s a very gifted musician all by himself . Suzannah Ur huh???
Those PRS guitars sound like utter soulless shite John.
WTF??????
is it me or is this california song a rip off of that one billy joel tune

Dunstan Thorp wut?
It's all over. There's no longer anything to save. Everything good in this country is in the past now.
