@@DOKITT If you are going through the "bite my lips like john mayer whenever i play" phase, probably yes, once you mature, you'll find out that making faces doesn't mean "feeling it". And don't get me wrong, John's a Savage.
@@DOKITT Guthrie already has a Goat status even compared to legends in the previous eras. He can replicate any style of playing from all types of genres. But I am with you about John’s place. Being good doesn’t always mean you have to reach maximum complexity or crafting the most complicated lines or solos. A lot of God tier players often do this out of context and then it becomes overkill to the ears. Like Martin Miller shredding fusion lines in a Sultans Of Swing cover. John is a simple person who nailed the blues and nails the feeling and expression through his fingers. The songs he wrote are beautifully constructed and executed int he studio and on stage.
I do not know how many years I left on this earth, but I do know that I regret not having had the opportunity to see John Mayer and his band live! Whatever year, whatever tour, they play so tight Everytime, with those beautiful harmonies. I was fortunate enough to see Van Halen in concert back in 79' and again in 81', Eddie van Halen was amazing!! Watching on UA-cam, John Mayer is amazing!! 🎸🎼
Listen to Neal Schon and Journey, "Look Into The Future." I went to this concert for this tour. I'm not making any type of comparison, some of John Mayer's amazing solo's take me back to Neal Schon's great guitar work - before Steve Perry joined the band. Enjoy!
So glad he embraced and augmented his Abbey Road solo, since it was his best one.. guess enough people communicated this to him. also awesome sound for a video shot from the crowd
‘Stratocaster’ is a Fender name tho so PRS would never call it that, and why would the name include the scale length? (It’s 25.5” btw). Most signature features on the guitar such as the neck shape and the pickups are actually called ‘635JM’. The number would be right in the middle of ‘63 and ‘64 (63.5); the building years of the Fender Strats the silver sky is based off!
That last solo is one of the best solos for belief I have ever heard
Agreed!
100%
Yeah. He’s a fuckin machine (pardon my french)
100% agreed! 🎸
Badass smooth... 🎸
this man has cemented himself as the best guitarist in the world in the past 10-15 years
The only true user of that name is Guthrie Govan, John's biblically good , but is not that good.
@@kaiselkamish9904 Guthrie is a savant guitarist but John has 10x the feel in his playing and its not even close.

@@kaiselkamish9904 Ah yes, I prefer John's phrasing because he bites his lips! You give the impression of being incredibly musically stunted.

Pino chilling in the background 😎🎸
2010 concert and 2019 concert same energy. He is a master.
More energy!

The tone and phrasing on that last solo is other worldly
I travelled to New York from the UK for these shows. Best decision ever.
The last 30 seconds of this. How. My god.
His guitar 🎸 skills are AMAZING. MY FAVORITE GUITARIST.
He is great , but… Hendrix, Clapton ❤
The last solo is absolutely the best solo of this song so far
Quick little phrase at 6:05 really stands out!
God made JM with the mix of BB king, SRV, EVH and John himself!!
Clapton too
@@maitrybajracharya5550 yes afc
Hendrix too

You forget the two most importants: CLAPTON and HENDRIX!
So glad he embraced and augmented his Abbey Road solo,

Omg his playing is sooooo goood... Crazy how technical he is... Im truly in awe
IMO this is the best intro he's done for Belief, that little run at 0:41 was super sweet
Was für ein Gitarrist!!!
Nie gehört -- Hammer ⚡️
Und der Schlagzeuger 💫
Pino behind John's right shoulder just grooving🙃🙌🏻
One of the GOAT's for sure!
Am I the only one hating UA-cam automatically uses 360p on John's videos. This man deserves auto 4K on all his videos.
1:05 jesus how tall is that bass player chilling in the background lol.
Epic performance! Can´t wait to see JM live again 🔥
This song... My HEART 💕🙏😍 Holy moly I love that man!!!!
Also... With the state of the world the past year I have had this song stuck in my head constantly. It is perfect for 2020. Should be our anthem!
I couldn't agree more! :)
This is fantastic
thank you so much for sharing.
YES 👍 THANK YOU
What's up JM fans
I can't believe I was their live
THIS BAND! Going mad in Finnland.
Pino giving me life back there 😎
4:40 Incredible outro solo 🔥🎸
love your instagram work with JOHN ;)
@ have you checked out my music yet?
Ayyy
I love you
I’ve YET to find a live performance of this that tops Pinkpop 2014.
Крутой....ля
I like his frost PRS...so clean and so cool...it should've be name as PRS STR JM25, (STR: Stratocaster, JM: John Mayer, 25: the scale of the guitar)

Is there a chance anybody knows what pedal he is using on that final solo. That tone is bananas
That's a WAH pedal
Ibanez TS10-Klon Centaur- Keeley Katana- Xotic Wah
He has improved so much lol
The last solo was very Frusciante-esque, I hope I'm not the only one who hears it.
Pino and Aaron Sterling. That some locked groove. Wow! JM killing it.
Drums on this aren't nearly as good as JJ Johnson was.
