I follow John Mayer now for a couple of years. Saw so much live footage of him (youtube and in person). This guy is an artist in his own class I can say...so much feeling for the music and tasteful decision making in improvising. His "on the spot" playing is beyond others doing 100 takes in the studio. And besides that...if one of your heroes calls you a "Master" everything is said.
He is his own...man, style, an artist. When an artist reaches high level of appreciation, comparisons cant be as a highlight of the conversation. Its the art, the form as one guy said the "journey" on which it takes the viewr, listener etc...that trancends the medium, picasso, mayer, dimeola, kobe...great artists. Also this guy was definitely raised right...

He shares with a lot of the greats because that's where he learnt it from. John's a true 21st century guitarist
i had that same fucking thought!! i must be so obvious then lol
Jesus so good!! I love the Grateful Dead, Dead and company, and John mayer!
so good. As a lifelong guitar slinger I have to applaud John and his skills not only as a axe master but also as a conductor... thanks to him and his great band for making me smile and chuckle...
That was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of my favorite JM solos. I have watched countless times.
One of the coolest solos I’ve heard.
from 3:50 on i get i bit of a grateful dead vibe with the vocals, which made me nearly cry. 😭😍
No words, just awe for John's skill and feel. As Eric Clapton says, " He's a master guitarist." Love you, John. You got me out of a really down mood tonight!
Can we all appreciate the guy at the back of the stage 7:26 . Hes digging it
He can flat rip it, no doubt he’s up there with the best. Singing, playing, performing and writing music !!!!!
So great to see him having the time of his life out there. Truly a remarkable man!
The breakdown and into that solo gets me every time. Pure musical genius
I've heard this too many times to count. This version, these musicians, that night, John extended QofC to a full 8:14 minutes of incredible music with an ending that gives he chills. Thanks for posting this life version. 🎶💜🎶
that look he gives to his band mates at the end! 😍😍
Love the old guy at 7:25 . He's just thoroughly enjoying it.
Great song and just a beautifully built solo. For me this is one of his best performances.
I love the fact that even though it's his show and his name, JM always lets the other musicians have a solo at some point or other in his performances
Beautiful performance- the whole band, vocals, instruments. Love how JM lets the band shine, doesn't try to overcompensate- doesn't need too!
it's official!!! this guy has got the goods! he can play sing write and has evolved into one of the coolest famous voices of our time... so much so fast so young and found his way to make rich meaning of it all... his work his stuff with dead and company is fantastic.
