Ray is a super nice person and super awesome drummer. He is the real deal
Plus he's never touched drugs.
I love the layout of that kit, so dam ergonomic and comfortable looking.
Such a humble guy. Love to buy him a beer and have a conversation at the bar. Wish I still lived in Nashville, sometimes.
Ray is top 5. He’s #1 in my book.
Very respectable drummer. Unusual setup..great to hear his stories and drum solo at the end!!
Ray is now Korn's longest tenured drummer and I couldn't be happier for the guy. Korn sounds as good now as they ever have and I'm of the opinion that some of their best (ever) songs are on the last three albums.
Cant Agree. This guy puts too much shit in the songs. Silveria stuff is quite more interesting.
I was just thinking about Gene the other day! Great to hear he is your tech. Awesome dude.
Cool interview, I like that Ray incorporated a blast in an OG Korn song
Every time we film Ray he throws a little blast in ;) He's such a good dude.
@@Sickdrummermagazine @sickdrummermagazine yeah he seems super cool, I hope to meet him someday.
@@lordmarco i am a guitarist but he is my favourite drummer and yes, seems like a totally cool guy to boot!
@@lordmarco i was how can korn replace thei awesome first drummer then i was wtf! drums don't normally grab me like his playing does.. just so tight and crisp and loads of attitude.. the mans a monster!
Its ok to mention David, he was an integral part of the original Korn. Korn is different now and you are part of that. David was a part of a new thing (numetal) and did something no one was doing (metal/funk fusion, piccolo snare, kick/slap bass combo) and changed drumming for alot of people. That being said, in terms of sheer raw talent, you melt faces every night. There's no comparison on skill level. His name shouldn't be avoided though.
Lol. he did nothing really different other than add hip hop grooves to metal riffs.
John Otto did the the same in Limp.
that's what Nu metal was. distorted guitar with hip hop drum grooves
@@dcmastermindfirst9418 listen to the first korn album in its entirety. Agree to disagree.
@@ryanbiggs1298 Yeah it was rap with metal riffs.
Korn started nu metal then got Limp and the rest followed.
Not rocket science
@@dcmastermindfirst9418 you dont play drums
@@ryanbiggs1298 or their second album. That had TONS of groove...
Ray is doing a great job 👍
Awesome interview- Ray is a beast. Appreciate his honesty and sincere ness. Learned some info I didn’t know and can’t believe it’s been 15 years. Where does the time go. Looking forward to what’s next. Ty for sharing.
i remember when i used to see you in modern drummer doing D.L.R you've come a long way, and you seem like such a great guy. love the interview, and your passion for what you do. love the george lynch stuff as well. and i make my own wine, so you're really great in my book. cheers!
listen to his work on Army of Anyone, amazing
and the Hideous Sun Demons
Ray super serious about his craft love it and nice choice of drums to 🥁🥁🥁
Music has definitely changed my life I am a drummer as well I know that I’m not a professional drummer but music definitely helps us through the hard and rough times that we’ve had during these past two years speaking with Covid-19
And at the end ...the best korn album since 20 years...mastering sox but i like those kind of raw. Great drummer
Underrated ❤️
Not in the drum community.
HELLYEAH 🤘🏼🥁🥁🤘🏼
pretty awesome grooves at the end there, he's a cool guy
Ray is one of the most talented drummer’s out today!
Drumming starts at 24:16 mins ;-)
Not what I expected the drummer from Korn to look like
It’s funny he mentions the mixing, that’s the single biggest complaint I’ve seen from fans: it’s too sterile and cleanly mixed. I agree.
The worst part about 2 weeks to flatten the curve was the first 2 years
Would really like to see Ray try a few Evans drumheads on his kit. I'm sure he'd find some heads he'd like!
Who gives a shit? People don't switch from Remo.
@@TempoDrift1480 lol
Sayin Ergin Ataman hocamiza benzettim ilk an🤟👍
What the hellll, Fluff helped produce Korn????? So sick!
James "Fluff" Harley
Has the best BTS Korn photos!
He mentioned all previous Korn drummer's names apart from the most important one.
He slandered tf out of korn. Why would he?
Monster fucking musician
Boy, at a glance I thought this was Keith Carlock.
Ray is real.
No comments about his stick show-offs? He clearly did drum corps as a youngin.
Lol. American drum corps is a joke.
watch the UK military tattoo drum exercises. now that's skill!
@@dcmastermindfirst9418
You've clearly never marched or even seen DCI live. Do they even perform a show across the pond, like with sets of drill? Are they running with their drums on for half of a 10 minute performance?
@@CamxCam. Lol. Let's see any American drum corps touch this.

Watch his 50th birthday video? His high school drum teacher in PA was German.
@@CamxCam. 🥱
There should be a stick flip counter
Kornholes are kool
min 8:08 he was talking about shawn drover
adesso assomiglia a Keith Carlock

Pros: seems like a down-to-earth guy, who works hard and the band could rely on him
Cons: I have yet to hear a Korn record and say "hey I distinctively know that's Ray".
But between him and what David is now I'd always pick Ray.
I wonder how much of that is Ray's influence tho? I had a song pop on as random play ,and in seconds I said "that's Ray Luzier" when it's not Korn. I don't even play drums.
Niacin Dennis Chambers CBS Letterman thread
Still sad that David Silveria has left the band.
Cant relate
It was over 15 years ago man, he made his choices and listen to him now! Sounds like shit. What Ray is doing for Korn is magical, why do you think they hired him and have kept him for so long. He's been in the band longer than David was!
Ah yes.... talking about the PLANdemic. Well.... love the drumming!
Beasty drummer and cool guy
All the haters go listen to David’s new band lol
🗑
The 2 EPs BIAS put out are pretty damn good. His and Ray's style are just different. Don't understand why people must compare and say one is better than the other.
Snare sounds fucking amazing - what is it?
This has been my opinion for quite some time:
I prefer David as Korn’s drummer. I always felt that he fit the band better…..BUT I believe Ray is ultimately the superior drummer.
That's not even a question. Silveria may have fit the band better, but Ray is in another zip code in overall drum ability.
People tht twill there drum sticks around ...death metal drummers don't cause thy are real
You lost me at covaids
I was like, here we go again.
OMG he mentioned covid... ohhhhh noooooo
He couldn't even mention David by name?
Allergies..... lol
Aguante David Silveria... Es incomparable! Este es muy buen batero pero Silveria fue el gran pionero. Srry
No playing, shame
There's a short little solo at the end of the interview.
Mann ray is cool as hell and I loved his work on Korn III but after that his drumming really gets generic and I miss david
