    • @Dowlphin
      @Dowlphin 2 роки тому +8

Doesn't work for all cases, though, because we all have different experiences and needs to regain balance, and 'just be nice to everybody' is a cookie-cutter doctrine that does not make the effort of getting to know the individual and thus understanding what they need for that healing balance. It can be rudeness, strictness, aggression, resistance, defiance.
This is related to a common saying that bothers me because it is not as enlightened as it pretends to be: *"Treat others the way you want to be treated yourself."* - But if put it to the test, using edge cases and such, you realize that this is a really bad idea for a masochist. - So why isn't the saying: *"Treat others the way they wish to be treated."* ?

Only the last guy he killed cowardly.
But imagine killing 3 people. Just gotta get rid of the only witniss to potentially just walk away from it.
In the heat of the moment it's easy to think short sighted and egotistically.
I once hit a car in the parking lot and drove off in panic.
I did of course return when i came to my senses remebering.

      @@neil78bYou don't owe anyone anything
But you are also don't have the right to abuse anyone.
As he said "Society thinks we will take it like good little boys that we won't go werewolf and wild."
If you beat someone down into Psychosis the person has 2 choices. Suicide or werewolf. Now most people will choose the easy way out.
      He went werewolf.
You cannot blame him for trying to survive.
Do you have a right to kill? No.
Do you have a right to do what you need to do to survive? Yes.
Are you allowed to violate others right to do so. No.
All the Joker needed is some love.
Society needs to learn to not punish the victim when he punshes the Bully back.
Those wallstreet guys were indeed awful.
Did they deserve to die? No.
But cannot everyone empathize with Joker's decision.
Would you feel remorse for defending yourself from someone.
He should feel remorse for the guy he cowardly killed.
But he is prevented because with the first blood he sealed his ostrasation of society.
If people who kill in selfdefense went unpunished they probably would kill less in alot of cases.
In this case society "forced" him to double down.
Since defending his life he lost everything. The little thing he still had left. Hope.
The psychosis went into full effect.
      The Joker doesn't have empathy.
      The Joker is childish rage.
His love has been stolen and the Joker is everything that's left.
All it took for the Wallstreet guys is to come to their senses.
One of the guys to speak up and say
"let's not be too hard on him. Wanna come party with us?"
what he got was "Do you think i'm funny?"
Instead of compassion he recieved hate.
Any remotely good human being would not habe treated him like that.
These wallstreet guys did indeed get what they deserved.
Their only "excuse" was that they were drunk.
But you know what they say "the real you comes out when you are drunk".
The Joker is as much a villian as he is a mirror.
It's his mercy for society for he still lives and loves the way he was loved.
The Lessons is that you can push people far enough in that they get convinced that right and wrong are subjective.
Even if 99% kill themselfes after breaking instead of going werewolf.
You owe it to yourself to be nice to 100% of people to prevent that 1% unleashing their wrath.
And get rid of dichetomys in your life.

This scene always hits hard. Because I went through a lot in my 20s and something just broke. I sometimes smile or laugh when something bad happens. My dad told me my grand aunt died last month and I was just smiling like a psychopath. My uncle had a fall and couldn't get up, and I was smiling and controlling my laughter when picking him up though he was in terrible shape. I felt sad, and I didn't think it was funny at all. But something is cross wired. I think for a while of just grinning and bearing it, my brain deemed that grinning was the new conditioned response to sadness. This is similar to "smiling depression" or "nervous laughter" which is a self soothing coping mechanism in the brain in response to stress / anxiety / fear / trauma, similar to coping mechanisms like humor. Oddly this scene from the joker was relatable to me.

It really pissed me off when people laughed when he laughed on the big screen. Tells a lot about exactly how good and close to reality this movie is. I saw a glimpse of how society will actually behave when they see a guy with a condition like this in the theatre.

I found this scene very sad. I met somebody who had a card like this, but it was for another medical condition (I don't remember what it was). The woman on the bus in the movie just treated him like he was a weirdo, even after he showed her his card. He tries to stifle his laughs but he can't seem to do it.

This entire scene made me tear up when I saw it. I felt so bad for him. Then the struggles he faces were further punctuated by the walk up those stairs. I know we've all been there. Trudging up the stairs. Whatever those stairs may represent for us. This was a tough scene to watch. There were a lot of scenes like this, and one couldn't help but feel bad for Arthur because we've all experienced something similar at one point or another.

It's sad because the one thing that makes Arthur feel good is making kids laugh but the kid's mother is so annoyed and disgusted by him that it instantly causes Arthur to feel hurt, hence his laughter which actually is his pain and sadess. The fact Arthur is a clown for a living seems to represent the "my life is a comedy" line later on. As Arthur knows people and society see him as nothing but a sad joke. The fact he gets to put on clown make up to be laughed at probably made his pain more bearable because he would rather they laugh at Carnival the clown than Arthur Fleck when he is out of make up. It's also very sad that he hides behind the clown facade - like the way a person with severe depression hides behind smiles and laughter - the part where Arthur sits looking in the mirror with his clown make up on and uses his fingers to make a smile. It's so heartbreaking.
