After, what, 9 episodes of this series now, I'd love to see a video showing your favorites for all the colors of the rainbow. Something that someone can go to, thinking "What is a cheap alternative to purple dye?" and get an answer without watching the whole series. Maybe test the favorites in larger molds too, to see how they hold up?

For the pen, you can actually already finely grind graphite powder for super cheap online (like by the liter or so), which is great for casting. For a nice shiny look you can also "paint" first a layer of powder in your mold so you can buff it afterwards ;)

Oh God hahaha. I remember growing up as a kid in the 90s. That back to school commercial with the dad dancing around the store with the shopping cart throwing all the school supplies in the cart as "Most Wonderful Time of the Year" plays. Cutting to the two kids looking super upset and depressed about going back to school. My mom and Aunt LOVED that commercial to the point they would sing that song at the end of August and early September. My mom and aunt would be like "Hey guys..." we'd be like what? They either start singing "It's the most wonderful time of the year" or they'd start humming it with the biggest grins. As a child, dreading school. It was evil and torturous... As an adult, we now get to mess with kids the same way. Hated school(mainly due to bullying) but I LOVED back to school shopping. It was a weird feeling hahah.

Back to school shopping is probably one of the only things I miss about school. I loved getting new school supplies. The hope and opportunity that, this year, I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna stay organized, stay on top of everything... to inevitably have all that go out the window in just a few days, my hopes and dreams of staying organized with my fancy new school supplies, died... trying ;) Cause' as my Dad always said, "trying is lying" ... which I later learned is probably just a variation on Yoda's "do or do not. there is no try."

The smelly markers with the guy's face on them are Mr. Sketch and as someone who went to elementary school in the early 2010's, I can say that they are still on the market. Otherwise, some suggestions for a future episode would have to be powdered Rit dye, cheap acrylic craft paint, Testor's Model Paint or the ink from a Sharpie.

Markers and Ink pens make sense, honestly! I'm curious how different types of fountain pen inks behave. Also what kind of coverage you'd get out of them vs. the disposable pens and markers which didn't seem to have that much ink. They're not going to be super cheap, but they could end up acting super concentrated (and you have a wide wide variety of color options)

The goldfish one looked like a Petri dish with a bunch of bacterial colonies. It also seems like the glitter glue messed up because it basically is a type of resin which just messed with the chemical process a bit. I am surprised that in the small amounts it was fine overall.

I used puffy paint in school! It was Elementary and for shirt art during after school activities, but it was still on school property! I'm 38 now. I miss that school a lot. :(

If you have one of the pencil sharpeners that makes the shreds like they used to have mounted to a classroom wall or counter, the pencil shreds might make an interesting "dip it" material. Kind of like a non lethal murder bowl.

I think every dye trying needs to have the final cast be a combination of all the pigments

Wow, that red pen is amazing! I'm so glad I still use them to grade. Incredible.

This one was so amazing. So many turned out great. I love the red pen, but that silly scents blue is a gorgeous color. I was scared surprised at the glue and resin because I thought it only went slimey with starch.

The downside of ball point pen ink is the lightfastness of it would eventually fade over time. I would also say all were a success, sans the glue. Even the goldfish. I think if you took the powder and ground it with the pestle to make it really fine, it would have dispersed more.

I would love to see the follow up pen episode. Different colors of BiC pen, and different types of pen (I bet gel pens would give you interesting results)

I have never heard of puffy paint, let alone had it as a school supply, but I love her enthusiasm
