After inserting the micro SD card with the correct firmware file in the dashcam, I connected the dashcam to the computer. The dashcam then started up and did not perform a firmware update. Your video does not cover this issue.
Thank you! You did me a BIG favor. I was having trouble installing the latest firmware. I looked at several of these videos, but yours was the only one that pointed out the .bin file name had to match exactly what was sent. I was having problems, so I downloaded this file more than once, so my computer tacked on a (1) or (2) on the end of the file. That’s why the firmware upgrade didn’t work ! The file name had to be corrected. THANKS!
That's true! The file name has to be correct.
First of all this video does not cover rear camera update.
Second, it does not instruct if user should apply each firmware updates starting from next version till latest or not. For example if my A129 Plus Duo have V1.5, then should I apply V1.6 first then apply V1.8, or I can apply V1.8 directly. Sadly there is no previous firmwares on official site. Saldy, because in A129 Plus V1.6 there was also rear camera update to V1.7, but it is not present anymore within V1.8. It makes end user really confused.

Why do I have to format the micro-USB card? Can I use different brand of micro-USB card?
Formatting the card is to ensure there is just the firmware bin detected during the update. Yes, Sandisk Max/Extreme Endurance cards are also recommended.
How to reset wifi password of the Viofo 129?
You can just default the settings on the camera or reset the camera by pressing the R hole for seconds. Or updating the firmware will also help.

@@ViofoDashcamOfficial I have another big problem. that the reason i check to format. i can't see the rear camera. i checked everything even i downloaded 1.7 firmware, my product is a139 pro 3 ch. rear port doesnt work. i send email but no one answer! guys what kind of business you are doing. noting working!
