  • In this video, I will show you how to install the VIOFO HK3ACC Hardwire Kit for the VIOFO A129 Pro Duo Dashcam. This will allow you to enable the parking mode on this dashcam. I will show you examples of different parking mode recording modes.
    * For the ground wire, you need to secure it to a grounding bolt under the dash. Look around under the dash for a screw or bolt that you can loosen and then insert the ground ring terminal to it and secure it.

    An excellent video! A word of caution- Although I did not witness this tidbit in your video, the fuse tap orientation is very important to be where the power actually goes through the fuse and not bypass it. Be sure to check which leg of the fuse block is hot and face the tap in the opposite direction from the hot side.

    Also worth mentioning, the new fuse being added must equal to or have less amp rating the original. Additionally, avoid tapping into critical power circuits such as onboard computer, air bag etc.

    • @hippopotamus86
      @hippopotamus86 8 місяців тому +2

      Not quite. The new fuse you install would be 3amp max for the camera itself. The original fuse will stay the same. The piggybacked fuse doesn't go through the original fuse, it spurs off of the connection before the fuse so it doesn't need to be less than the original.

    • @VIOFO-CS
      @VIOFO-CS Рік тому

      When parking mode is turned on in the settings, there will be an icon of a car in the top left corner of the LCD screen (this just means the setting is on, not that it's in parking mode). When you turn off the car, the camera should enter parking mode within about 5 seconds. When it enters parking mode, the icon of the car will change to the icon of the chosen parking mode. So if you chose Low Bitrate, the icon will change to a video camera. Auto Event Mode will change to a stick figure. You can set the voltage to 12.4V on the voltage selector to protect your car battery.

    Great video, very helpful... BUT, can you explain why there are 2 fuses on the fuse taps... the fuse you pull from the spot your going to tap into goes in side of the tap, but what's the other fuse doing? and what rating does it need to be?

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  4 місяці тому

      There are 2 fuse taps because one if constant 12V providing battery power when ignition is off (parking mode recording). The other fuse is ignition 12V providing power when the car is running and driving (normal recording). Both fuse rating can be 5A or 10A.

    Hey there, Great video! I used this video to try and install the VIOFO A129 Pro Duo hard wire kit on a 2020 Honda Accord Sport. After the install, I could not get the camera to power on with the hard wire kit. It powered on with the cigarette lighter cable, but not this hard wire kit. I used the driver side lumbar fuse for the red wire (battery), and the ACC fuse for the yellow wire (ACC), using fuse taps. Ground was no problem, and I tried a couple spots to make sure. For the fuse taps, do I also need a second fuse in the tap? Like should both fuse tap opening be filled with a fuse? Would only having one fuse in the fuse tap prohibit the camera from powering on? Hope to hear from you soon!

      The input cable of the Cellink will need to be hardwired to your fuse box. The output cable from Cellink battery to the Viofo dashcam can be premade output USB C cable that plugs straight into the dashcam, or a un-spliced output cable that you connect to a Viofo hardwire cable. As to which output cable to use depends on where you bought your Cellink. The enclosure of the A129 is designed to have a removable GPS module. The design is actually an old design where they use to sell the GPS as an option. That's why the USB power connector on the side of the dashcam. If you install the GPS module (which the A129 comes with), then the power cable is connected to the top USB power connector. This is how the power cable needs to be connected (to the GPS antenna), and this is how this video was made and tested for parking mode.
