This was my first Monster Hunter game and I discovered you through it. Watching this video 3 years later and realizing now that you're still a god at the monster series. It's because of watching your videos that I'm good (I'd say "decent" is a better word to describe it, but still lol) at the franchise as well. Just wanted to say thank you for entertaining me for years and teaching me in a way.

I see comments saying they don't know how to use the charge blade, and I agree. However, I just got some tips from my friend who is a charge blade expert. A+X after a strike for shield attack (if files are charged and you have red Phials, press A+X after shield attack to use an axe attack. press R during this attack to charge the ultra, the red shield. then press R+X to charge your phials.) once you have the ultra (when you have the red shield next to your phials) after any strike, you can press A+X to use the ultra (the camera zooms out a little and you unleash an explosion). another little trick I learned is that when you are moving and need to use the axe, you can press A+X while holding R to draw your weapon right into axe mode. once in axe mode, you can press A+X to unleash an ultra (if its charge) or a super (the third swing to an A combo with the axe). yeah, I actually learned that hold back and X trick and even my friend didn't konw how to do that. I just said to him, "how do you not know that?" then he just said, "I don't know." I almost never use the A A A combo with the axe. usually if it's a monster like dalamadur, i use X, A, R, A+X, A+X (that's when the ultra burst hits) and begin charging again.
...Well these monsters will definitely feel sore the next day. Also nice of you to put the armor set into the description as well. I swear if someone still asks for the full set... lol.
Well done, my decision to stick with IG was mostly informed by your Master Test run. With this upload, it's clear how much damage CB deals relative to triple buff IG. It's good to have some sort of comparison in a game where there's no HP bar.

I did this a few years ago with Dire Miralis armour and that Fatalis charge blade, probably not fully upgraded, and it took me 49 mins. Seeing it done in this time is quite something.

Andi Volkano 1. Vermutlich Brachydios, weil's etwas mehr Rohangriff als die CB von Fatalis hat und die Phiolenangriffe ja nur vom Rohangriff abhängen. Im Endeffekt nehmen sich die beiden aber nicht viel und man sollte mit beiden die gleiche Zeit hinbekommen. 2. War geplant. Sieht einfach geiler aus, wenn der mit dem Ultra aus dem Apexmodus rausgehauen wird :p 3. Nein, Jho spawnt immer ~3 Minuten, nachdem das erste Monster gestorben ist, beim zweiten kannst du dir also eigentlich Zeit lassen und das hätte trotzdem keinen Einfluss darauf, wir schnell du die Quest erledigst (außer du brauchst länger als 3 Minuten für den)
Duong Huynhthai That wasn't a double shield thrust. He loaded his charge R+A then pressed X for the sword to hit with a charge animation (like a shield thrust) then he X+A shield thrust.
Now I can beat the deviljo. I could always get through the first two in like 10 minutes. but the satin pro is filled with pure unadulterated rage. I was working on having all max CB and beating all missions but I could not kill the beast. This strategy helps alot with the roadblock.
Is it possible to finish this quest with the Long Sword? It's so hard using LS due to Apex. Even if you target the feet you're most likely to bounce because it keeps hitting the body/wing instead.
+Wslasher I tried to do it with LS a few days ago during one of my livestreams, it's definitely possible, but can be quite a pain in the ass, especially Diablos. You're the second most skilled hunter I've ever saw... I met one when I was G2, he ended that urgent quest quest chaos Magala in less than a minute with a white fata CB... But you're still good! I think I'm gonna learn how to use CB...
I noticed you using a move (0:18) that looks similar to the A button dual slash, but it looks like it's a charged version or something... are you doing something special for that or is that just your blast slime?

also about the talisman do u suppose u can only get that specific 1 in guild quests? B/c i cant seem to find it. only 1 with edgemaster + 4 and only 2 slots can this still work?
Finally someone who use a CB for this quest! I hate to say this but this is the only quest left for me in solo that I can't beat right now. I'm using the Star Knight Armor + True Ruiner Reaver (Challenger+2, Rodeo God, Sharpness+1, Steady Hand, Evasion+2 and Evade Extender (Charm is Evasion+8/Evade Dist+8 which explain why I have those two skills)) and I still have a hard time beating the first two monsters.. Some advices to get something better on this armor? HG Earplugs I guess but what more?
Maybe I should consider using my Seltas Z set with something good. On this one I have Artillery God, Shield Bearer, Partbreaker, Load Up and Stam Recov Up (Charm give me Artillery+14 and Sharpness+8 which prevent me to get Blunt Edge)
How do you do the normal X+A axe exhaust attack when the shield is charged? And do you block before an attack to stun them or is it that momentarily block when you switch or after some attacks?
Wondering if this strategy would work for Advanced: Monster Hunter! It's the last quest I need for full gold checks on all stars, and I got to apex seregios twice, before carting. If anyone has tried a similar strategy, or knows of a CB solo run video for it, please let me know. Generally speaking, seeing helps me to do the damn thing.
It's a multi-monster quest, and it's also a Caravan quest, meaning those things have really low health when compared to Elder Hall monsters(and also damage I think). I was surprised with how fast these things die, my first try took 13 min, even with 2 carts.
+Matteus Silvestre actually, to offset the low health, they get higher attack. it was like that in Tri and 3U as well... pretty sure it's the case in Freedom Unite, as well... in that village Rathalos/Rathian quest (first time you're supposed to meet them is together), they have decently strong attacks for Low Rank, but they drop like chumps, even with crummy weapons.
+shithoagie I always thought that the Mark of a Hero monster were stronger because they were coded to have G-Rank level of attack, even with lower health. I didn't really notice any attack boost in the Master's Test. If anything, I feel like there are less 1-shot attacks from Diablos and Deviljho, when compared to the Wailing Devil and Apex Predator quests.
Soo...the fatalis CB is a good weapon? This video was so weird, it was like I was watching myself play, except that my guard points are not as on point as his are...yet :D
+mohd aliff press X a slightly bit earlier than R, or else your character will switch into axe mode from a guarding position, which this not have a guard point.
+SammyLinx Gaming I was hoping that the blast procs could help me trip Jho, though I probably could've just used the super burst to do that (which I did, but I actually got that idea literally just moments before I performed the first superburst lol)
+Shiro Sultan no. You have to pull your circle pad back and mash X. The circle pad has to be held in the direction of the hunters back depending on where your camera is facing. So if you camera is facing to the right side of your hunter, you'll have to pull to the left.

If you're speedrunning, anything to shave time off is a benefit. Plus, if you're not a speedrunner, the Felvine Bomb's pink icon next to your hunter's name lasts almost exactly the same amount of time as a Might Seed, so it makes an excellent visual timer for when you need to re-seed.
Alexander Tramel It cancels the flexing animation after taking a potion and its effect also lasts as long as the Might Seed, serving as a visual indicator for whether your Might Seed is still active or not.

Question, I noticed when you have phials, you're almost immediately able to commit them to a red shield, how are you doing that? I thought you had to go into axe form then use the third power strike then revert to sword form in order to convert the phials?

so how many time did you try before getting this? Ive had this luck once in about 50 times but got killed by Jho Also I notice you were able to charge your blade attacking the dead serg, I am not able to do that. Is this some trick? The more I watch the vid the more Im questioning some stuff done in it.
+Evil Nick Dunno, this video is pretty old, but I think it was around 5 tries. It's actually not that hard, the only thing that could fuck you up are Seregios' position when you enter the arena and the ledges.
+Evil Nick You can easily charge vials on dead main monsters, not the small ones and not the broken parts. You can also recharge the IGs pheromones on the dead monsters. Its been that way since launch
Evil Nick: if you're playing MHX/MHGen you can't attack dead monsters like that I believe. In MH4U you could. Only for Large Monsters, though. Small mons you can never attack after death.
Jenny Diaz Also, edgemaster can spawn on both miracle and sage talismans. I should mention that edgemaster+4 is as rare as it gets, especially with a second skill or three slots. Both of these only come from Graven Charms, green talismans that you can only get by completing lv136-140 GQ's (some quests drop them earlier depending on the monster, you'll want a (monster)+rajang quest. If you want me to share my velocidrome+rajang quest with you, just hit me up. It'll be at around lv105 or so, if you complete it 7 times it will start dropping the good shit, talis and divine armor spheres. Both monsters have low health, if you have trouble fighting rajang I suggest origami tim chin's rajang guides. Happy hunting!
Are you going to solo any of the more unconventional monsters? Lagombi, congalala, Hermitaur etc.? I know they aren't hard, but they are pretty fun to see just move around.
This may be a bit of a silly question, but when something doesn't go how you expected it to, or you end up being pummelled by a monster continuously (looking at you, Brachy), do you ever just start to cuss at the monster for a minute or so? I need to know if I'm the only one.
The only monster I really do so with is Brachydios, especially while using a CB without Guard +1 or 2. My stamina gets drained faster than lightning, and I get the shit beaten out of me.

More specifically, hold away from the direction your hunter is facing - there's lot of videos on how to do this all over youtube...tricky at first, but once you get it, you'll wonder how you lived without it. Kinda like guard points.

The most important skills imo are Sharpness +1 (if required for weapon), HGE, Challenger +2 and Tremor Resistance, anything else is just a bonus.

I don't think there is any other weapon out there that is quite able to throw down like the CB does. That is, when it is used correctly.

I noticed you using a move (0:18) that looks similar to the A button dual slash, but it looks like it's a charged version or something... are you doing something special for that or is that just your blast slime?

also about the talisman do u suppose u can only get that specific 1 in guild quests? B/c i cant seem to find it. only 1 with edgemaster + 4 and only 2 slots can this still work?
I got that charm from a Lv140 guild quest, dunno if 2 slots will suffice though.
oh sweet just figured out that talisman had spirit plus 1 so i could take a spirt gem of and place artillery gem! Yes!

How do you do that with your CB? You do the X+A combo but only use one phial. Is there some other input you do after the third X+A?

Finally someone who use a CB for this quest! I hate to say this but this is the only quest left for me in solo that I can't beat right now. I'm using the Star Knight Armor + True Ruiner Reaver (Challenger+2, Rodeo God, Sharpness+1, Steady Hand, Evasion+2 and Evade Extender (Charm is Evasion+8/Evade Dist+8 which explain why I have those two skills)) and I still have a hard time beating the first two monsters..
Some advices to get something better on this armor? HG Earplugs I guess but what more?
***** Tremor Resistance helps a lot against Jho, Artillery Novice + Felyne Bombardier also give your phial attacks a considerable damage boost.
Maybe I should consider using my Seltas Z set with something good. On this one I have Artillery God, Shield Bearer, Partbreaker, Load Up and Stam Recov Up (Charm give me Artillery+14 and Sharpness+8 which prevent me to get Blunt Edge)

X+A axe exhaust attack when the shield is charged? And do you block before an attack to stun them or is it that momentarily block when you switch or after some attacks?

It's the last quest I need for full gold checks on all stars, and I got to apex seregios twice, before carting. If anyone has tried a similar strategy, or knows of a CB solo run video for it, please let me know. Generally speaking, seeing helps me to do the damn thing.

How much health do these things have? Cause they die super fast.
It's a multi-monster quest, and it's also a Caravan quest, meaning those things have really low health when compared to Elder Hall monsters(and also damage I think). I was surprised with how fast these things die, my first try took 13 min, even with 2 carts.
+Matteus Silvestre actually, to offset the low health, they get higher attack. it was like that in Tri and 3U as well... pretty sure it's the case in Freedom Unite, as well... in that village Rathalos/Rathian quest (first time you're supposed to meet them is together), they have decently strong attacks for Low Rank, but they drop like chumps, even with crummy weapons.
+shithoagie I always thought that the Mark of a Hero monster were stronger because they were coded to have G-Rank level of attack, even with lower health. I didn't really notice any attack boost in the Master's Test. If anything, I feel like there are less 1-shot attacks from Diablos and Deviljho, when compared to the Wailing Devil and Apex Predator quests.

+mohd aliff press X a slightly bit earlier than R, or else your character will switch into axe mode from a guarding position, which this not have a guard point.

+Shiro Sultan no. You have to pull your circle pad back and mash X. The circle pad has to be held in the direction of the hunters back depending on where your camera is facing. So if you camera is facing to the right side of your hunter, you'll have to pull to the left.

If you're speedrunning, anything to shave time off is a benefit. Plus, if you're not a speedrunner, the Felvine Bomb's pink icon next to your hunter's name lasts almost exactly the same amount of time as a Might Seed, so it makes an excellent visual timer for when you need to re-seed.

Question, I noticed when you have phials, you're almost immediately able to commit them to a red shield, how are you doing that? I thought you had to go into axe form then use the third power strike then revert to sword form in order to convert the phials?

+Evil Nick Dunno, this video is pretty old, but I think it was around 5 tries. It's actually not that hard, the only thing that could fuck you up are Seregios' position when you enter the arena and the ledges.
+Evil Nick You can easily charge vials on dead main monsters, not the small ones and not the broken parts. You can also recharge the IGs pheromones on the dead monsters. Its been that way since launch
Evil Nick: if you're playing MHX/MHGen you can't attack dead monsters like that I believe. In MH4U you could. Only for Large Monsters, though. Small mons you can never attack after death.

Jenny Diaz Also, edgemaster can spawn on both miracle and sage talismans. I should mention that edgemaster+4 is as rare as it gets, especially with a second skill or three slots. Both of these only come from Graven Charms, green talismans that you can only get by completing lv136-140 GQ's (some quests drop them earlier depending on the monster, you'll want a (monster)+rajang quest.
If you want me to share my velocidrome+rajang quest with you, just hit me up. It'll be at around lv105 or so, if you complete it 7 times it will start dropping the good shit, talis and divine armor spheres. Both monsters have low health, if you have trouble fighting rajang I suggest origami tim chin's rajang guides. Happy hunting!

This may be a bit of a silly question, but when something doesn't go how you expected it to, or you end up being pummelled by a monster continuously (looking at you, Brachy), do you ever just start to cuss at the monster for a minute or so? I need to know if I'm the only one.

The only monster I really do so with is Brachydios, especially while using a CB without Guard +1 or 2. My stamina gets drained faster than lightning, and I get the shit beaten out of me.

More specifically, hold away from the direction your hunter is facing - there's lot of videos on how to do this all over youtube...tricky at first, but once you get it, you'll wonder how you lived without it. Kinda like guard points.
