Marilyn Manson is an incredibly intelligent man. If you ever get the oportunity look up an interview with him. He puts deep meaning into his lyrics and everything he says is with measured intent. Love his music. Oh and keep killing it with these videos Alex.
That's why I hate the moms who are like "he make kids violent". I just laugh at them. If you watch top 10 times Marilyn Manson outclassed interviewers, he says how it's always better to be screaming curse words then hurting someone. This is art. When rage was expressed and not repressed. When it wasn't loaded into a magazine into an AR-15.
moobang yeah I agree, I know he might want to censor it himself for the sake of his channel, but as far as getting the full effect of the song, he should definitely stick to uncensored vids.
I do feel like, at least in this case, Manson is able to convey a slightly different but no less poignant message in both versions of the song with the line "Hate every motherfucker that's in your way" / "Hate every other hater that's in your way". The first implies that everyone in your way is a "motherfucker", or someone who is beneath you or somehow dirty or not deserving of your attention. Hating "every other hater", on the other hand, implies that everyone is doing the exact same thing, trying to clear everyone out of their way in their own rat race, and by pushing all the other haters out of their *own* way they are pushing them into other people's way who push them out once more and the cycle continues until everyone is pushing each other around trying desperately to reach their higher status. It's very clever in a trademark Manson way to be able to censor his songs by ostensibly making the lyrics even deeper.
@lunatic gmd I agree with you 100% I’m just saying for a modern music video it’s rather cool, I think it’s something more aimed towards youth. I can’t see a lot of younger kids and teenagers watching a Marilyn Manson music video
It is a great performance, but he should never see a live version first. The only exception to the rule is Domination by Pantera live in Moscow. He should definitely watch the studio version then the live.
"The weak ones are there to justify the strong" is about rationalizing the poor and weak in society. You have to have the lower class in order to have the upper class.
More precisely, it's the upper classes, the "strong" (and, in the context of MM's symbolism here, fascists now and back in Nazi Germany) who need someone to ostracise, to beat down on and to scapegoat in order to be able to feel like the strong ones and as a pretence to justify their violent acts.
You gotta hear Devour by Marilyn Manson. It's a super underrated song because it's so different from his other work. It has such a dark twisted yet romantic story behind it. It's a must hear song.

I love playing this song on guitar, it's so good. You should watch some of the live performances of this song, every so often Johnny Depp shows up playing the guitar. That's right, Johnny Depp shreds it up to this song with Manson (he's also in a few of the music videos from the most recent album but the guitar thing is way cooler)
That was the first song I heard by him, bought the single and loved it, so bought that album and... the rest, live gigs etc. I put it on and went, "ok sold"! Great suggestion.

I went to a Manson concert in 1997 at the Richmond Colleseum and it was EPIC! Much like a Broadway show, he had set changes for each song and at one point he had a church scene that started snowing then BOOM! the stage changed to a podium with the lightning flag behind him and the snow became ticker tape and it was AWESOME!!!

Both are different to each other, Contrapsso you can appreciate the different riffs and the slowness of the drums in parts (slowness for a death metal song) and Bonebreaker is just a brutal experience in which the last 45 to 60 seconds are pure bliss if you love metal.

You should react to "Dance Macabre" by Ghost, "All Nightmare Long" by Metallica, or "Devil's Bleeding Crown" by Volbeat. Keep up the good work Alex, appreciate all you do.
Manson is pointing out here as in other songs, many times through irony and sarcasm (as he does here), that truly being beautiful is not about being “beautiful”, it’s about being yourself, or “free”; also how those seeking only to be surface beautiful, are actually shallow and blind, and can use their beauty as a means to be cruel to others; that those particular kinds of beautiful people aren’t really beautiful at all. Manson’s art (doesn’t seem to do it justice to only call it music) has always been about the dichotomy, irony, apathy, and hypocrisy of pop culture, and how those things present in religion, politics, human nature, the media, Hollywood and main stream society at large. How we celebrate, and elevate, both the horrific and the sublime in equal measure. How that then equates to the fear, violence and sex that drives consumerism. Even his stage name, “Marilyn Manson”, was taken from two iconic figures of American pop culture, however on opposing ends of the same spectrum, and the interesting and very real correlation between the two; one being the atrocious or hideous (Charles Manson) and the other being the beautiful or desired (Marilyn Monroe). Both dominated media and the consciousness of America, albeit for completely different reasons. The point being we all have both in us, in different measure. Including Manson himself, who is both a beautiful artistic genius and someone with ugly personal demons. And this is one of the reasons I admire and respect his genius, his art, and him as a person, and 🖤his music and art . He’s a highly intelligent person, and his art reflects that. He’s also one of the most important and creative artists of all time. Not to sound trite or arrogant 🤣, to earn my Master’s of Sociology, my thesis was “Manson: The Artist We Love To Hate, The Art We Hate To Love”. 👍 in addition, I actually had the incredible honor of getting to meet and talk with Manson in person once, in November 1998. You know they say never meet your heroes, because they don’t and won’t live up to your expectations. Well, he didn’t live up to my expectations; he shattered them and completely exceeded them in every way. As much as I already thought of him as a genius and fantastic artist, I was still completely blown away by him as a person, and in person he’s not what you’d expect going off his stage persona. Completely by chance we happened to have a terrific conversational synergy and he was an absolute delight to talk with. If you’d like me to make a comment and give the rundown of that once in a lifetime, true, and surreal night in 1998, I’m more than happy to. I don’t post it or talk about it much on here, because it means a lot to me and I won’t suffer trolls trying to use it as a platform to talk shit, or call me liar, (or both); but I believe being an intelligent and true appreciator of his, you would enjoy reading it and really get something out of it. Let me know and I’ll share it 🙂

Man That You Fear by Manson!
Let me know and I’ll share it 🙂
2:48 when you see Manson & immediately stop rocking your head 😂😂😂
