Thanks for posting. I am looking for info on how to do this properly. Very informative and they look great! Hello from Northern Ontario Canada. Looks like you live in a beautiful area. 😊
Thanks for watching!! And glad it was useful. 😊
Wow, that looks brand new! Hats off, Sir! 🏆🤍
Thanks!
I will definitely have to do this with my old aluminum table and chair. Looks GOOD!!!
You should! Thanks for watching :)
You are fantastic. So much patience. You did a great job. I hope mine turn out something similar and I’ll have a big smile also. Well done to you 👏👏👏
Thanks, that's really nice of you! I hope yours turn out well too - just keep focusing on the nice glass of wine or beer you'll be enjoying sitting at your new table and chairs when they're finished :)
@@LifeinLaCampagne I will thank you 😁
Many thanks for the video which I found useful. Your finished work is amazing.
I have started work on repainting our aluminium garden chairs. I used the power washer to remove the old flaking paint and got in the grooves effortlessly. I like your rotating wire brush. Off to a hardware shop to get one. Really good advice. Thanks 😊
Glad you found it useful! Mine is still looking good a year later :)
I actually liked the red
Hehe 😊
The red was actually nice. A nice dark green would have went well with it as well.
Yes a dark green would have looked good!
Loved your video mate. Greetings from Cape Town South Africa 😎
Hello! And thanks for watching!
Very nice
Thanks 👍
Job 👌well done ✔️ enjoy a cold beer 🍺 u work hard 😻
Thanks!!! Cheers!
Can I have your wheelbarrow? LOL Love it! Thanks
We found it at a vide grenier - it has pride of place underneath the mirror I installed in the stone ruin now (as I don't know if you've seen but this car port is now our kitchen!) :)
Hi, I am just redoing one table, no chairs! I realized that getting a paint gun was going to make my life a lot easier, better finish too! I was hoping you’d put a finish coat on it as I am not sure what I need to get! Anyway the house behind you looks like my family’s house in Normandy. I miss it.
Where are you located? Thanks for sharing.
Hi, yes I think a paint gun might have been easier 😂 I am located on the border of the Indre and Creuse region’s. Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for this video Peter. Your chairs are looking great! Can you recommend a wire brush?
Glad you found it useful! You want a very strong wire brush so you can really rub and make sure there are no flakes of paint left on the metal. Hope that helps! :)
Would it help if i use a white powder coated spray instead of painting it with a brush?
Hi Nadia! As long as the spray is designed for use on aluminum (and you apply an appropriate base coat beforehand) I think this should be just fine! Good luck with your project.
They look amazing! I am planning to repaint a very similar set...would spray painting it be an option? Or do you need a brush for all the gappy fiddly bits? Thanks!
Hi Caz! Thanks, I'm glad you like them! I am pretty pleased and they are still going strong - I've put them next to our pool area now so it will be interesting to see if they withstand the saltwater in the summer! Spray painting is definitely an option for your set - in fact, you'd probably get into the fiddly bits even better with a spray paint. One thing I would recommend though is to always make sure you get rid of any old, flakey paint first. Otherwise, it will all just fall back off again. It is a pain and a laborious task but definitely worth it. Good luck!
Thanks for the video, how much of each paint did you end up using?
Glad you found it useful! I can't remember exactly but less than a tin of each. Hope that helps!
Someone had a bright idea to put a running Dremel on our aluminum table causing a .5 cm deep 5cm long 'scratch' on our table... Any repair suggestions??
Thanks!
Sorry I don’t, not sure how you will sort that one but good luck with it!
@@LifeinLaCampagne ha! Thanks.
Did you use Hammerite Paint & Primer? If not what did you use?
Yes I did :) Thanks for watching my video!
Not sure why you didn’t use spray paint?
Because I couldn’t get the correct paint for aluminium in a spray can. I have used the wrong paint before and within a year the paint started to flake off. So I want to make sure it was done properly this time 😊
Wouldn’t be easier to spry them?
Yes that may have been easier...but much more expensive, as the spray paint costs lots more here. Thanks for watching :)
Why don't you cover the table and put the chairs on top to paint them, then do the table last.
Haha yes I could have done that, too late now 😊
I have a chair like one of those with a different seat back, how old are these things?
Honestly I’m not sure 🤔 sorry
