Thanks a lot dude, I am totally new to filming stuff and simply looking for small guidelines to improve my videos. So H265 is fine quality-wise I guess since your videos looked pretty amazing. Everyone was telling me I HAD to use ProRes but the file sizes simply are so gigantic and I really dont want to carry a ssd with me all the time to spontaniously film some random stuff. Also thanks a lot for the LUTs you provided. I like your stuff and tbh if you would put together a whole pack in the future I'd gladly pay a few bucks for it to support you.

So I got one question: what would be your approach to get good results without using gimbals etc? I film 99% on vacation or when a random situation occurs and I usually dont carry gear with me. I thought about just getting a filter, because I have zero experience with extra lenses and if they work with the iphone stabilization...which I really really need for many shots. :D

Great video and superb cinematography. My interaction with Freewell after purchasing the Sherpa system for my iPhone 15 Pro Max has been quite disgusting. The lenses do not sit securely and wobble. I raised this in the hope it was just the case but after detailed explanations and photo I simply got two line emails not responding to my questions but requesting I do more and more work, like the request to make a video. The emails are designed to waste my time and give up. How are your lenses, do the move easily or wobble?

I haven't had any problems with my Freewell Sherpa filters. I haven't purchased any of the lenses yet, but with both my iPhone 14 and my iPhone 15, I've had no issues. I don't use them all of the time, but when I do the issues have been pretty much nonexistent. Now if I hit the filter, of course it will pop off, but otherwise, no problems. 4:27
Amazing… just amazing !!!!!!! Sometimes I wanna give up my mobile film journey. Because I actually want to get to the point where I can make short films but sometimes I make such a bad video I give up. Seeing something like this brings hope. I have a 14 pro max thou.. Looks awesome but can you clarify one thing for me. It sounds like you shot in Apple Log but it also says H.265 and I thought those were different codec's. Can you help me understand what you shot in while still being able to have a low file size and do reasonable color grading?

From a phone this is great, even amazing. However the lens coating has to be fixed on iPhone to reduce glare. Samsung s23 Ultra and an other phone I can't remember has it reduced. Again, this looks great and I wouldn't even think twice that this wasn't shot on a real camera.
Low light video is where phones really fall apart and don't stand a chance against even the most budget modern mirrorless cameras with a fast lens. Valiant effort regardless.

I'm wondering, would use the snow mist filter on the phone if you were also cutting together with footage from a Canon R5 and GoPro 12/Insta360? Also, If cinematic mode doesn’t work in log - how do you create the shallow depth of field with log footage?
Thanks bro) appreciate it) I can easily cut footage in Apple log with any Sony camera without a snow-mist filter, so I guess you can also mix and match it with Canon R5. As far as shallow depth of field - use 1x camera and get closer to the object - that’s the only way basically
@@NOlimitsON Will keep that in mind with the 1x camera - so I'm guessing if you attach the 70mm telephoto that helps a lot to create that depth of field with the subject in the foreground. Also, I meant to clarify - if you leave the snow mist filter on the phone would it cut together with DSLR footage, or would you take the snow mist filter off the phone to do this...? (Or conversely, would you prefer to put a snow most filter on a DSLR if the phone has one on?)
I use prores log on iPhone 16 pro and based on what you showed on video you used high iso and you got a very clear and aesthetic shot but for me I get noise and my shots are not even taken in very low light could you please help me about this issue
Great images. I suspect very heavy NR but nevertheless this phone is really impressive. I swapped my 14 pro (horrible video capabilities, just hype for terrible oversharpened overcontrasty images) for the 15 pro and I'm surprised everytime I review the videos I shoot with that. Impressive.
@@NOlimitsON if you don’t mind me asking, why 50fps and not 60fps? I’m asking because I always thought it was 24fps mostly but 60fps for slow motion, with all the clips being edited on a 24p timeline. Are you using 50fps for your slow motion shots? Or do you just get better results in that frame rate ?
I've spent the last few weeks trying to get similar shots at night in the city but its always got this disgusting grain in it. No matter if i under expose, expose proper or over expose. When i get back to Davinci its just SO bad i cant save it. I genuinely don't understand how yours looks so clean lol!
I exposed at +2 stops most of the time, using the LUT by Alister Chapman for -2 stops of exposure, you can download it for free under my Apple lot tutorial video) no magic, to be honest. Good exposure, good color grade, filming in LOG - that’s it)
I like the compositions, but not the fuzziness with the anamorphic and mist filter lowers the quality substantially. Too much glass in front of a tiny sensor in my opion, but the video is put together well.

It’s just stylized to anamorphic with this lens, it doesn’t affect the lowlight performance itself. So the 1x lens of the iPhone is more than capable in lowlight

@@NOlimitsON Ofcore UA-cam adds it it's own compression but gives more bandwith to files with higher resolution..like 5x times more;).Even if you shoot 1080p you should render it at least in 1440p.Check the quality of this video ( compressed mess in the dark areas) and similar videos with higher resolution.Cheers;)
While I understand that some of the criticism regarding low light photography on a phone might be lacking in comparison to an actual camera, don't forget that the phone is primarily a communication device. You can call someone on your phone with a camera, but you can't call anyone on your camera without a phone. Or something like that. 😊

You confuse codec and color space) I shot in Apple log color space and in h265 codec.

I'm just an amateur but a question... I have a lot of noise when shooting at higher iso at night...what should I do
Do you use apple log and 1x camera? Do you shoot in places with some light of like in complete darkness 😅?

Everytime i try to shoot with my IPhone 15 Pro Max with low light i get a lot of noise and footage unusable. Wonder what i do wrong…
Probably you expose incorrectly (image is too dark) or color grade in a wrong way

seems phone lens is not enough for night video so extra lens needed

Of course UA-cam is killing the quality… the file is in ProRes 422 (8gb), but UA-cam makes it like a 100mb 😂

Sorry, but that ain't low light these days. Millions of light sources in EVERY PICTURE. It's a night shot, not low light. You are confusing it
😂😂why you need to film in almost pitch black in a phone? Usable ISO 2000 for a phone is already a crazy good result.
