Oh Dany, you broke my heart. No, it was not built by the Ottomans. It is older then that. It was property of Albanian middle-ages feudal-lords of the likes of Zenebishti and Gjin Bue Shpata. The oldest written record that mentions it is from 1336. It was conquered by the Ottomans in 1417 after a very long siege. In 1812 Ali Pasha Tepelena (Ioannina), who was an Albanian from Tepelena-Albania, renovated it.

No other country offers what Albania offers at such a low price.

@@DarkoFitCoach Thailand is much more expensive than Albania now and Vietnam is way overcrowded, polluted and hazardous. Also Albania ranks safer than both of those countries according to the global peace index in 40th place whereas Vietnam is 41st and Thailand is 92nd. Not to mention in Albania you are in the heart of Europe and now with ryanair and Wizzair you can go from Tirana to anywhere in Europe for 15€.

And being close to europe is a negative for me, i pay big money to get the hell away from europe especially north and western parts. Garbage
@@DarkoFitCoach yes I’ve been to Bangkok and Phuket. The funny thing is expats from Thailand are starting to move to Albania there are a few mixed couples who make UA-cam about their move to Albania from Thailand. I’m not saying they aren’t good choices for some people but I still think it’s best to be in Europe. Are you croatian?
@@invader7191 bosnian. Phuket is most expensive in thailand. Not representative of average price. Pattaya is 70% cheaper or more
