“They surprisingly weigh about the same regardless” The brydge keyboard is literally half a pound heavier than the magic keyboard. That’s a massive difference for a tablet keyboard.
Hey. I would like to point out that you can get around the issue of the upper portion of the trackpad being hard to click by going to settings>general>trackpad>enable tap to click.
This would have been the perfect 12.9 iPad Pro keyboard but the MAX+ has a design flaw where over time the plastic hinges give out and crack due to the weight of the 12.9 M1 XDR iPad Pro's weight. I've had mine since July and didn't even use it on a daily basis and the hinges already gave out. Sending it back to be fixed or replaced once I hear back from Brydge. Otherwise the MAX+ allows you to basically have a touchscreen MacBook with a killer XDR screen which is crazy cool. But I feel like Brydge needs to do a revision on the MAX+ with either metal or a much stronger material than plastic for the hinges to avoid future problems. Because it's inevitable that plastic on there now is going to give out at some point where the iPad Pro just flops down to the table as the hinges no longer have the strength to keep it upright in the laptop position. Maybe even add some kind of kickstand behind the iPad Pro for extra support of the weight like how some other IPP keyboard models do. This would be a no brainer recommendation if it weren't for the faulty hinges wearing down over time not being able to support/hold up the IPP and basically rendering the Brydge 12.9 MAX+ keyboard useless..
My gripe with the Brydge product is the palm rejection, maybe I haven't figured it out or found any settings, but the giant trackpad gets in the way sometimes when typing and activates the cursor in some random location.
I have replaced my Magic Keyboard with the Brydge Max+ for the 12.9 inch iPad Pro 2021. I like so much better and have the shortcut keys row. And the trackpad was the main selling part and have had since it came out last year. It is still in great shape and very happy about that.

This is an awesome keyboard except for a serious design flaw. As mentioned elsewhere, the plastic hinges just don't stand up to the weight of the 12.9 ipad under normal use. Then it's worthless.
That's concerning. Right now I'm using the original without trackpad and the little hinges (hate them but they do work) on my 2018 12.9 Pro. I have the Magic keyboard case on my. 2021 12.9 Pro but after reading John Gruber's (Daring Fireball) tweet about his case peeling a number of places--with photos--and others adding their photos, I checked mine and find one place that will probably end up being an issue--at about 8 mos. Old. I like to use my Ipad in my lap and was reason I bought first Brydge--and using it right now in my lap, it does work and balance quite well. I also have external keyboards including a mechanical and Apple trackpad but use most of the time in lap or. Other than at desk or table. I am considering buying the Max+ for my 2021 when Magic gets in worse shape--and i find I think I prefer i like typing (touch type quickly) on the Brydge--if the Max is similar to the original. I'll do a bit more research about the hinges--because that would be a real issue.
Is that how lazy we’ve become as Americans? When he keyboard is sleeping, you have to go and press the power button. Big deal. It’s not like you have to get out of bed walk down the street press the power button, then walk all the way back home again.that’s a shame to complain about something so small.
If you don't need to use keyboard on bus, taxi, or use ipad the pretend you are using a laptop for whatever reason, then you actually need a wireless keyboard and a tablet stand. Which means, $50 more dollars should be sufficient. So why fooled by Brydge?

I've seen people mention how using a glass screenprotector isn't possible with the brydge. Is this true?

I think you can but it’s really not recommended because of the size difference. They won’t be the size when closed which will be awkward.

I love the magic keyboard my only gripe is that it doesn’t hold the pen that well and I ended up buying a third party attachment
That's a big shame. A first party accessory shouldn't make it difficult for you to use it the way you should be able to.
