There are basically 2 types of main users with software like synth v
    - Users that (casually) like to make covers of songs using this software. For example, they wanna make a madonna cover with solaria. They sometimes use DAWS, but also sometimes not (if they use the original audio)
    - People who make music (already) in DAWS that like to add vocals to their musical ideas
The people that use DAWS will typically like it if things work a bit similar to DAWS and vsti's, cause it lowers the learning curve and makes it easy to use the product quickly and efficiently. The people that are new and do things like make covers of known songs might not use DAWS at all. However, since they are also not used to any other software, it would not impact them if Synth V's way of operation is more similar to daws, since they have to learn it from the start anyway.
For these reasons I think it's best for the most amount of people if Synth V would be operated in a similar manner as DAWS.

Agreed. I don't understand how Dreamtonics sat down and designed a "DAW like" platform with a workflow that feels 30 years behind! It's clear to me that Synth V has great coding as it's very stable and responsive... to me it feels like it was designed by engineers - they make a good solid functional product that has no sense of ergonomics or workflow... like they built something they don't actually use.

@@mixphantom0101 What also seems needlessly different than DAWS is how in a daw you can just make one of these things that look like 'blocks' (don't know their name) that contain the notes. You can easily drag and drop them, and they follow the bars in size. If I make a second verse, I can just easily copy the whole thing over containing all the midi notes and I will know how it fits to the other stuff, because it follows bars. However, in synth V they have this needlessly complicated manner of combing notes into groups. However, since your singing melody does often does not start on the first beat/bar you have to move it around until it sounds right.
Indeed, the product itself is amazing, it functions as it should without crashing and the results are amazing too , but somehow it seems they tried too hard too hard to not follow the DAW way of doing things.
I just get demotivated sometimes working with it to finish songs, because i can not as easily experiment and have endless copies of the same songs with different ideas. Normally that way I can casually try new things. If it sounds shit, I select it all and press, delete, and it's all gone. But with Synth V I have to sort of plan what I'm doing, cause it feels like it costs needless effort to do things. However, I'm not working with it that long so hopefully that may change.

4:25 Tab and CTRL+TAB work as shortcuts for Next and Previous note navigation, which i think is behavior carried over from other vocalsynths like Vocaloid. it's always bothered me that these shortcuts in particular seem to have been hard-coded in though, you can't change them through the keybinds menu which is really unfortunate as the current options don't really feel very fluid to use. i would massively prefer an arrow keys method like you stated, or even numpad arrow keys if available on the machine

I watched this before I actually bought the program. I am 100% with you regarding the dediting voices being the same color as the color where you assign the color to the voice.

Hey man, some great ideas/ suggestion here! Also, thanks for putting so much effort in making your ideas visual, that gives them an extra dimension.

Oh yes, very needed requests! Customizable keyboard shortcuts would be really useful ! A swing quantize fonction will be very useful also l! Great channel btw! You are a very good teacher for This program ( i was in love with Mac OS vocalwriter decades ago)

Custom keyboard shortcuts exist at the very bottom of the Settings menu - unfortunately, most of the useful ones are not currently available.

Thank you @mixPHANTOM (and other users) for the wish-list ideas. Especially being able to hear and see the notes when selecting (for us less musical literate people) & better visibility in that area. Your animations are awesome too. They show exactly how it would look & that's just great. Another thing that might be useful for (Windows 11 users anyways) is to have the plug-in version remember the plug-in window size when you are opening your project the DAW. It always minimizes it & must be dragged out to max. I use Studio One & it never remembers the size it was from the last save. Not a biggee but would be nice to have.

Thanks for the two lists and your many great vids. Late to this party and have only had the product 2 days, but +1 to the comment below about the poor gridline visibility. Another thing I hit on my second project was a need for triplet quantization, which I don't think is there. I see there's a "1/24" quant, which you can use to do triplets, but this forces a lot of counting of little cells to get the triplets right.

Good stuff. Well thought out. As a studio One user I am pretty well programmed into drag'n'drop and as a new Synthesizer V user the navigation is a bit challenging. Thanks for your channel.

I'm the one who suggested ALT+Drag last time.
Scale definition + Snap to scale.
Copy associated automation lanes (pitch and so on) when copying notes from a track to another.
In general, i'd like it to have the editor of ACE Studio (wich is ways and ways better) in SV.

My suggestion: an universal lingual voicebank that is understandable in every language (must not be free of any accent). Then the voicebank could also sing in my mother tongue.
    Best regards from Germany 🙂

I have no idea how they are building these voice libraries... but, I would imagine that a universal voicebank would be very challenging and probably disappointing. Solaria is the best voice so far and it was created by a third party (Eclipsed Sounds), so if demand gets high enough you could see other companies making libraries for their languages.

I want to see being able to drag n drop highlighted recorded clips from synth v, into the piano roll of fl studio, and vice versa! The vice versa would be helpful, rather than having to first save fl studio clips as a midi file, then opening a midi file from a drop down menu. I know its possible in theory, and it would make a very time saving and easy way to build up songs.
Also, the dragbar is way too thin, and these tiny things are more challenging to work with on things such as smaller screens. Also want to see touch screen templates that are fully customizable, and possibly a VST reverb built into it.
I dig the quality of the voices, and this is definitely going to get better in the interfacing of them.

Maybe it already exists and I missed the feature, but what I would love to see in a next release is the ability of hearing a sound (like oo for example) when we write or move a note. Everytime, I can figured out what note should be sung, but I have to try before because I don't know if it's actually a C or a D, or anything else. So writing the note, waiting for the render, play it, to realize this is not the wanted note and change it again and again is really annoying. This is a lot wasting of time. keep focusing on an musical idea is crucial in a creative process. So being efficient and straight forward is very important. Plus, when we play a midi keyboard on the track with SynthV loaded as VSTi, it actually makes a sound. So why not directly inside the synthV window ? Beside that, it is a wonderful software, to me, the best musician software in the decade !

I had a problem I’d like to see eliminated. It would be great if you could change parameters on a “phrase” without affecting the entire line of the singer. I have singers belting vocals and then dropping to a breathy whisper and the change made the entire vocal a soft whisper. (If there’s already a work around, let me know)

Are these voices multilingual? I needed to use it in Brazilian Portuguese

    • @mixphantom0101
      @mixphantom0101  Рік тому

Multilingual yes, but each voice has fixed language databases. The new Audio to MIDI function uses a "phonetic" interpretation to insert lyrics - so you might get usable back vocals in any language.
