As an example to the conservative snowflake: There is a video game on Gamepass that asks for a pronoun at the start (she/they/he) and literally trumpsters are flooding it with 1 star reviews. As a female gamer, I have played games as a male for years and never would have thought to leave a 1 star review because of it. Talk about snowflakes. The hatred of anything 'different' is so strange. PS. Ethan brought this subject up in the first segment - I'd love to hear a discussion on how Dems can stick together. Repubs do and they always get their tax cuts. Why can't Schumer control his caucus like McConnell can? I have my own opinions, but I'd love to hear Ethan's and Hassan's.
The Dem's wishlist is pretty large, while the Republican's wishlist is to keep the status quo of lower taxes and regulations. Of course the Republicans would love to get rid of EPA, Department of Energy, Department of Education, etc as well. It is much easier to say and vote you wanna cut something than to engineer and plan something new. Any fool with a hammer can destroy. It takes real craftmanship to build something that will last.

Her boyfriend was with her. They told them to "Go track down the assaulter and bring him back to the station" and otherwise, they couldn't help her. We always discuss how women want tall men but not why. As a tall woman I have struggled with my femininity and societal standards constantly reinforce the stereotype of the strong masculine man and damsel in distress. This is a bias I used to constantly struggle with that really affected my self esteem. It’s hard out here - I have lots of love for my short kings, tall queens and everything in between.
Tall women are beautiful af, if you ever down remember all main stream models are super tall. I wish I can be taller
My boyfriend is only like an inch taller than me and although he hasn’t expressed his insecurity I’m sure it’s there. I don’t know why our society has to put pressure on literally every aspect of ourselves. It makes me really sad when I hear things like this. Tall woman are beautiful and just as feminine and cute as shorter women. A short guy is still as masculine and manly as a tall guy. :’(
I like tall women
Let it be known, there are dudes who specifically wish they had a tall gf (as bizarre it may sound)
As a tall woman I relate, and it was a struggle for me for a while but I've come to embrace and appreciate my height. I wish men of all heights could do the same, and it'd help if women didn't perpetuate the shallowness that affects us too... I've been with men my height and shorter and have loved it when they aren't insecure about it, I recommend giving short kings a chance for sure ✌️
Thank you for explaining properly what defunding the police means. I also don’t believe in abolishing the police force but I definitely agree that they’re given so much power and a lot of them take advantage. With the rise of Only Fans there has definitely been an influx of people choosing to participate in sex work. But when you reduce it down to people are trafficked or they consent and want to do it, you're negating the fact a lot of people choose it because the system has failed them and it is a last resort. Yes, they may have CHOSEN sex work but they are doing it because it is the only option available. Again, this doesn't take away from the many who want to do it and sex work is hard work (no pun intended) but the problem is, how can we make sure people aren't being exploited in a profession that is inherently exploitative and reliant on a power imbalance - one is paying money while the other is using their body. Not to mention safety of sex workers is compromised. I think the issue that was raised is how can you participate in sex work as the "consumer" and know you're not supporting anything that falls into a grey area (not talking about trafficking bc that's obviously illegal)
99% of jobs are "last resorts" chosen out of necessity. Nobody with options wants to work at mcdonalds or make your iphone my man. It's no more a grey area than participating in literally any commerce under capitalism.
@@callowaymotorcompany The difference is that you can't professionalize the act of buying consent. With other workplaces, you can put procedures in place to avoid things like sexual assault. For instance if you're performing a medical procedure you're often allowed a chaperone to be in the room. If you work at McDonald's they'll often have security and CCTV in place that can help. Since the act of buying sex is consumer-led, buyers who want to abuse sex workers will avoid providers who prioritise safety and consent. Even in places where individuals can practice something resembling safe sex work, it doesn't do anything to mitigate the demand for abuse. I think something that gets lost in this discussion is why do we allow certain people to feel entitled to sex?
@@rachaelh2505 If paying someone for a service is "buying consent" and impossible, then ALL workers are currently enslaved, because you can't buy consent.
People who buy sex probably feel as entitled to it as you do to buy a big mac. Reality may differ from expectation, because neither people who attempt to pay for sex or big macs are going to get them if the person selling it to them doesn't want to sell it to them.
No shit sex work is shady when its pushed into the hands of criminals, punished by law, and demonized by the public. Maybe we should legalize tax and regulate so that it becomes transparent, open, and standardized rather than maintain the system that obviously isnt working? This is prohibition 101. Not only does your way achieve nothing, it also hurts everyone more far more than it helps. This tells me you're more concerned with your personal morality than actually helping anyone in sex work.
@@callowaymotorcompany if you're at the point in your life where you're paying people to have sex with you because you don't value them enough to actually try to be desirable, why would you want that sex worker to be empowered? Legalizing only makes it safer for a small number of sex workers (who are already privileged within that system if they're white, cis, middle class).
@@callowaymotorcompany and yes, McDonald's also exploits their workers under capitalism. Isn't this something we should be moving away from? Empowering working class people so they have more collective bargaining power over where they want to work?
The thing with sex work (in particular prostitution) is that SA, abuse and even murder are basically occupational hazards which we wouldn't accept for any other industry. When efforts are made to legalize and regulate this type of sex work, it only benefits the most privileged who can still market their services despite the regulation (having security, STI testing, drug testing). It becomes a two tiered system where illegal sex works still exists and also becomes more socially acceptable

not a single person on the planet can live up to that standard. you just cherry picked one thing that you happen to be able to take a stand on while you ignored all the other ones you don't.
prostitution is legal and regulated in germany. the only reason it is dangerous and exploitative at all is because there is still a cultural stigma to it and capitalism has created so many desperate poor women that they sometimes have to resort to sex work and would rather shut up about the abuse they take than lose their income and risk being deported. this doesn't just apply to sex workers either. immigrant workers in general who depend on their employer for legal working visa status (nurses for example) are regularly exploited and treated like second class citizens - even in places like germany where capitalism is a little more regulated. this is a capitalism problem, not a sex work problem.
@@schlafanzyk Whatever moral failings you've decided I have doesn't change whether it's ethical to go to a brothel or not, you're just using whataboutism. What wasn't discussed in the beginning is a good reason for why people might be anti-sx work. In an ideal world where we can tell the difference between what is and isn't coerced and the actions of one only affects oneself, ya, being pro-sx work makes sense. The fact of the matter is that it isn't clear what is recorded consensually. The fact of the matter is that p*rn negatively affects our mental relationship with sx and how people see women. What is the point of self-empowerment if the end result is the same objectification that was experienced before?
I think the discussion was really limited on this front, but I do agree that the people who partake in this career do need more legal protections. Sx work is real work, but until the industry cleans up in some way or another, it is largely exploitative.
As with everything, the most reliable way to understand what someone wants to do is to ask them - obviously there are mitigating factors that might make that more difficult, but there's not really much the asker can do about that which wouldn't just as easily risk violating their will. And all industries are, by definition, exploitative - there is nothing inherently objectifying about porn more than the objective physical attraction that nearly all people experience one way or another, it could only be interpreted that way if it's your only exposure to the outside world
This podcast is literally my two favorite worlds colliding

Regarding the sex work conversation: I will say, there were a lot of genuine concerns raised by sex workers on twitter and i think rather than listening to what non-sex workers have to say maybe you should listen to the people actually doing the work? The biggest issue that was raised is that sex work is, in the majority of cases, exploitative and despite peoples best interest, you can't exactly check the background of the sex worker and ensure you're not inadvertently supporting human trafficking. Also, btw, you don't have to participate in sex work to support sex workers.
Yea like wtf you can't buy consent
Anyone still engaging in sex work while trying to insist it's uniquely terrible is a hypocrite - there are pretty much always other ways to make money (even if they are difficult or risky like begging, if you're going to insist that sex work is uniquely worst they should at least be consistent)
You’re ignoring the fact that suicide and depression is incredibly high amongst female sex workers many of them sighting the sec work as the cause. What you consider safe does not matter because the mental and abusive damage being done is not up for debate.
this doesn't take away that we should be supporting sex workers and not making it a "shameful" profession. There's a possibility that suicide and depression is caused by our society thinking that its not actual work.
@LG Who says he pays for sex work? Also if they hate the profession so much why don't they get a job flipping burgers?
Pretty big citation needed there - most of the ones I've heard from attributed it to the stigma surrounding it, or the risks that come from doing it in an abusive environment. These are all things that can be dealt with without banning it
I like when they disagree and hasan says “Ethan.. Ethan” like he knows we don’t want our daddies to fight and that Ethan just needs educated/ to stop talking… also like Ethan standing his ground on a joke

Pastor guy’s parasite story is basically the villain plot of RE4
Yo i was thinking that too. Man's was thinking of Las Plagas

I'm not a big fan of Hassan on his own but this dynamic with Ethan is really enjoyable and I love being exposed to new opinions and ideas. Loving this show
the duo i didnt know i needed in my life. good stuff guys! keep up the good work
seeing ethan discover leftist infighting is very funny to me. keep up the good work bois
I know it’s a serious topic but Ethan accidentally saying “non-fellatious” deaths took me out for a good minute. 😂
i hoped someone else caught that 😂

i appreciate this show so much, i’m so down for these important conversations and i find that hassan has the language that communicates what i have always thought and felt but didn’t have the language to articulate. keep going my boyos yeeehaw 🤠
Really good episode!! Loving the show
As a longtime fan of H3 & Hasan when I found out they were doing a podcast together I was so hyped!!! It’s so refreshing to have a political podcast where 2 people can talk/debate/have different point of views & NOT berate each other or storm out. My dad’s a fan of Hasan but hadn’t seen much from H3 & now he’s a fan of both! My dad is American & my mom is Iranian & Turkish so I’ve been blessed to have been raised by 2 amazing human beings who raised my brother & I to be free thinkers, always instilled in us the importance of treating others w respect & never judging people based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion or political affiliation (as long as they aren’t spewing bigoted hate speech, as a family we don’t stand for that bullshit) they taught us the importance of standing up for others, fighting for what’s right & never backing down just bc someone is in a position of authority. My dad always says the key to being a good person is as simple as 4 words….DON’T BE A DOUCHEBAG. Keep up the good work gentleman, your podcast is a big highlight for us. We love watching your show together & have so much fun laughing together & it always starts great conversations between us. Peace & Love Papa Bless 🙏🙏

I think this show could really benefit (it’s good already) from including Dan in the conversation, even if he isn’t an official third member of the pod. He seems well-versed in political discourse and always has come across as pretty informed regarding topics in that sphere. I can see his voice as adding to the conversation, while too gelling really well with Ethan and Hasan’s. He’s a great resource for a pod of this type that is already present, and it feels like he could add value and push the conversation forward. At least some frequent features from Dan the man would be cool to see.
that's a fantastic idea. I'd love that
Agreed I love Dans takes.
I kinda think it’d be cool if they did some episodes with the whole cast too
100% agree. Part of the charm of the other podcasts is how Ethan bounces off the crew. I’d like them to get more involved in the future.
Doesn’t Dan kinda agree with Ethan and Hasan on most topics too? Is Zach more on the right? Maybe someone who has a different perspective on something outside the capitalism vs socialism thing would be better
MORE OF THESE PLEASE!!!! This is what I love, the dichotomy of hilarious and serious. Absurd and important :) What I loved so much about off the rails, and I can’t think of a better co-host.
This is such a good episode! I sent it to my sister who has loved hasan for a while. I’ve been a H3 fan since Vape nation. This is the perfect podcast for us! Finally an H3 podcast that someone I know is interested in!
I hope Hasan knows that we appreciate his extra information on various issues. It's actually really helpful and informative

I'm an x-ray tech in a union, its great and I feel really secure in my job. We aren't allowed to technically go on strike because we're an essential service, but we can "Work to Rule" meaning we take turns going out to the picket line and are only on site for emergencies, but someone is always covering the department
This is the best show. The 2 of y’all work really well together. Keep killin it!
Since the episodes are getting longer, I'd find it useful if timestamps we're linked for each talking point! I keep getting lost whenever I pause
My cousin is 19 and asked me if I follow Hasan. I gleefully responded YES!
He started questioning BS he deals with at work, structures of authority and unlike the rest of our family I didnt have to explain empathy for our fellow workers. Even on issues regarding race and gender he empathizes before insecure reaction. Shit matters. How he approaches and connects with people is encouraging. Gladly recommended theory and other channels. Thanks brother Hasan 🤘
I love this podcast so much. Hassan is so good at explaining things I agree with coherently. Would have never guessed 5 years ago that Ethan would be bringing me political education
Even though this is an echo chamber of the stuff I already know and views I already share I still enjoy watching and seeing Ethan learning more and becoming more politically educated and using his platform to educate others! Much love peace and blessings! Lol I was one of hassan first sub on tyt it's crazy to see how he blew up! Love it though back then he was very different xD he's improved

I used to work for the city of Montgomery fleet. Every year the police department gets about 12-22 new vehicles. And the fire department about 12. Usually because the chiefs want a new car. Also the police do often tear their vehicles up because they are reckless and wreck. The mentality is that its not their pv so they don't care. And when co I'd hit. The city was loosing millions of dollars of income because they couldn't tax hotels and etc since people weren't traveling and shopping. So they cut our funding and gave it to the police and fire. Where they still bought vehicles they didn't need. Also they were getting hazard pay for being Frontline. And then yes, when any city employee either police, fire or sanitation would cause an accident and hit a parked car or trailer. Or even t bone someone, the city would pay a settlement to the individual. And the city employee who caused the employee 9 times out of ten got away with no repercussions
“Sir uh this is for emergency use.” Holy shit 🤣 hahahahahahaha
As an Australian who is seeing their political climate/government becoming more and more like America's... I am absolutely loving this show.
Also I love the animated/motion camera pans and shit. Literally 11/10.
As an Australian, I am also sad that our political climate/government is becoming similar :'( We need something like Leftovers over here.
@Enter Name the state of australia is horrendous right now. i really hate living here. I’m all for vaccines and trying to control covid, but my state hasn’t had any community transmission of covid in over 90 days and we are still subjected to harsh restrictions. these restrictions seem to only affect certain industries such as the arts/hospitality/events industries - the ones the government can’t create revenue and make money from. the sports industry remains untouched as the government makes so much money from it, with football players being allowed to travel interstate freely and thousands of people still allowed to attend football without having to wear masks. the only good independent music/events company we had in our state is going to go bankrupt in 6 months as they can’t hold concerts, nightclub nights, festivals or basically any events due to the restrictions and are still expected to pay their rent and overheads with no help from the state government. we are the only state to have a mask mandate where it is compulsory to wear them indoors everywhere despite the fact we have no covid here as everyone allowed to come in has to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival. my 19 year old friend is not being allowed back into her home state as she is currently in a state with covid. she is at risk of losing her job here because she can’t get back in. meanwhile people are being allowed in from overseas as it creates money for the state government. there feels like there’s no end to this :(

@Enter Name got ourselves a covid fan over here. Why don’t you just get it and bounce already? Chud.
Yeah I’ve always said I would never want to live in America, and yet here Australia is becoming baby America… I just hope the global ridicule America is facing will deter our government from taking their lead any further.
