I already had my first thanksgiving this year because my family is separated and I tried doing this but my family member got so mad they started throwing stuff and everyone started arguing so I had to take my younger sister and leave. It made my momma cry and now my sister doesn’t feel comfortable going back home since the crazy MAGA relative is my moms husband. So I think I’m just gonna keep my mouth shut for thanksgiving 2.0 this year.

I am lucky enough to be blessed with decent pass-ability, but trans people shouldn't have to look any certain way for you to respect their pronouns, Also, wanted to say to people with trans friends coming out, or adjusting to someone's transition in the future; it's easier to completely re-evaluate the way you perceive them- i.e. I am not a: boy -> girl, I am a girl and always have been, just took a while to truly show my face; the "boy" never existed, it was just a role I was forced into until I made the best decision Ive ever made and started. my transition. okie tysm if u read this, love u all foot soldiers :)
To add on-with adjusting to people's Transition-with pronouns, like Hila said it is similar to training a muscle! 4 years ago I learned about they/them pronouns and others and would mess up a lot despite trying (adhd beep boop brain didn't help). Now I never mess it up and reframe people in my mind after they come out to me (see them as their gender not as changing to something etc.). Even if it seems hard to get right, it really isn't-practice makes perfect 😊

Yeah, Ethan was impressively talented at accurately getting into the headspace of right-wing reality-denialists! Hasan was also awesome at being able to respond immediately, intelligently, and calmly to every insane point. Aside from some dialect gaffes by Ethan, it was so good it almost seemed scripted, but you could tell it was mostly off-the-cuff. Thankfully, they just announced they're going to be doing this again this Christmas season. 👍
