Great tips! When I went to buy a car years ago, I had to take my newborn along. The salesman acted annoyed that it was taking me several minutes to get his car seat in properly… he even said, “it’s good enough, isn’t it?” I told him if I couldn’t get a good install for a test drive, there was no way I would buy the car. Went back a week later, asked for someone else and bought the car! The first guy lost his chance and didn’t take me seriously enough, but his loss!
Thank you for this excellent tip! I've purchased cars over the years, and you are exactly right - I drive onto the lot to look, and it's always the salesman outside smoking a cigarette that comes strolling up to me. Incidentally, I'd always wished I'd get a female salesperson. Too often I've felt like I'm a little lady sucker target, and I have been because I'd believe lies of omission and outright untruths. I'm selling my 2nd car, and after getting online value estimates, I'm being contacted by salespeople, and for once feel like the ball's in my court. Loved your video about this being the best time to do that, too. So glad I found your channel - you're sharing excellent info for all!
Thank you for this! We just left a dealership because the sales guy was always answering my texts and emails and questions and then In person when we met and he found out my husband was handling the money, he stopped answering my questions and texts and will only reach out to him 😒 excited to try this website to find a better salesperson and dealership
What a moron! I don’t sell cars, but I sell sprinkler repair and am 100% sure there are times when a spouse will let the other deal with most of the decision making. During those visits the person who I can tell is less involved will pop questions that are important specifically to them, & I treat those questions/requests as part of the whole. The one thing that’s better than a trusted neighbor vouching for you is the persons spouse! There times when they need to discuss the job over night, & when you have each spouse telling the other, “I really like him.” You are getting a call back 99.999% of the time! You were absolutely right to walk out on that Jack ass!
Thanks Kelly, you are awesome! Just found your channel and subscribed. Thanks for not providing all of the statistics we can research on-line but actual real-life perspective.
Great info! Hopefully I will be looking to purchase a vehicle soon. With pricing for used vehicles high, do you recommend new versus used at this time? Or wait for used prices to drop?
I'm looking for a used car for my college daughter. I am interested in several sedan models as well as small SUVs. I won't have a trade (passing an older car down to the next driver). Any advice? I have been looking at dealer rater. Should I call and give the sales person I'd like to work with my mileage & price parameters? I've always been told to "not share too much" with sales people until you're ready to deal.
Would you still do this for used cars as well? Also any tips if the sales people on dealer rater don’t have enough ratings for you to be able to message them?
On the website chose the vehicle brand you're interested in (say for example Toyota) and type in your zip code. Up pops a list ranking from no.1 down to say 10 or whatever of Toyota dealers in or near your area. Click on say that no.1 ranked Toyota dealership again and up pops their best sales people, if any are certified, their ranking out of 5, customer reviews yada yada yada!

This is great!!! Thank you. I am getting ready to buy a car and would never have thought of checking and picking a sales person…now I am!!!
Once I heard: "Buy a car based on your needs not on your ego" which sounds quite obvious, but we always forget...
Would love for you to do a short video about buying a car during this pandemic. Is it as awful as I’m hearing? Specific tips?

What do you do when dealer rater doesn’t have any reviews on your local dealership and the one next city over has ⭐️ ⭐️ and awful comments?

absolutely do this for preowned shopping too! You can always send an inquiry on the dealerships website and specifically ask for that salesperson!
Hey Kelly, when I go to dealerrater I don't see a breakdown by salesperson or any certified stickers. What am I missing?
