What if the Epstein island customer list comes out and Dana's name is on it? I would be surprised. Now if Howard Stern was on it I would be like, "Figures".
Dana is hands down one of the funniest comedic impressionists in the history of SNL and his charactors and improv skills are insane. Dana is right on when he says that talent is not required like it was back in his day or earlier.
You're right. Since apps are the new aid tools of the new millennia, people are instead letting the app do the talent part, for them. ...lol.... nobody learns anything if they go this route. Some of these new, younger comics aren't even funny but boy do they have the props. Family Guy and South Park have made jokes about this. I think the Simpsons did too.
I had the pleasure of driving Dana and one of his buddies from his home in Marin County up to a gig hosting the annual Napa Valley wine auction. He was exactly who you would think he would be, super nice, funny, sweet and talented. He is a national treasure.
Drove him to a Home Coming performance at San Jose State. I had the same impression. What a talented, great guy. In person shy, but friendly; on stage a dynamo.
Dana was brilliant in his quick subject change of Mike Meyers to then Robin Williams. Unbelievably classy and avoided any potential awkwardness with his friend Mike.
i'm not sure why Bill even had that impression of Mike when he just hung out with him once. And it sounded like Mike was just being polite and didn't get too personal.
But it was interesting to see that two comedians we have enjoyed are very different and as unusual as Bill Maher is, he is too regular American guy to "feel" Mike. And it even puzzled him. But I think Mike found himself incapable of opening up to Bill. Maybe he wished he could be a political commentator or have that i'm ok you're ok as long as we have weed attitude haha. I like Mike and hope he wasn't too irked by this.
@@spandabliss1708 I heard Mike Meyers was difficult to work with and demanding back then when he was making 'The Cat in the Hat' and other films during that period. That was so much fun. Dana is always hysterical but now I see he genuinely down-to-earth and real. Thanks Bill. I only wish you talked more! Bravo guys!
Another Great episode Bill.... Bill inviting comedians to his New Year's stand up event in Hawaii is the equivalent of Johnny Carson inviting a comedian to sit on the couch after performing... these are the people Bill loves and appreciates 👍

I agree. My favorite part of the interview. Dana Carvey is brilliant. Hilarious. When Bill wants to get edgy and take a dig on Mike Myers Dana defends him and steers it to the positive in a beautiful way. Dana Carvey is awesome.
I met Robin Williams once at the S.F. airport. We can all agree he was a gifted creative comedian, but in real life he could be a real asshole to his fans. I saw him and said : "Wow, Robin Williams...I can't believe it's you." He said : "Oh boy...this must be a big day for you." (Putting himself down and me as well...in the same sentence.) I was shocked at his rudeness and insecurity both. I never forget that moment.
Both of these guys are in their later 60s, but they have taken good care of themselves physically...not even moderately overweight, etc. But I wish Bill, who I understand is mostly vegetarian, would stop with the drinking and pot stuff...Smoking--no matter what the substance--is so hard on the lungs, and heavy drinking has its own set of problems.
This was such a rare pleasure. Seeing Maher and Carvey (two of my favourite guys) riff together and get a little tipsy, I feel like I'm hangin' with the boys. Please have Dana back again sometime.
