What if the Epstein island customer list comes out and Dana's name is on it? I would be surprised. Now if Howard Stern was on it I would be like, "Figures".
Dana is hands down one of the funniest comedic impressionists in the history of SNL and his charactors and improv skills are insane. Dana is right on when he says that talent is not required like it was back in his day or earlier.
You're right. Since apps are the new aid tools of the new millennia, people are instead letting the app do the talent part, for them. ...lol.... nobody learns anything if they go this route. Some of these new, younger comics aren't even funny but boy do they have the props. Family Guy and South Park have made jokes about this. I think the Simpsons did too.
Another great conversation hosted by Bill Maher. This is quickly becoming my favorite podcast that I look forward to each week. Very genuine and interesting, not forced or with agenda. So great!!
I had the pleasure of driving Dana and one of his buddies from his home in Marin County up to a gig hosting the annual Napa Valley wine auction. He was exactly who you would think he would be, super nice, funny, sweet and talented. He is a national treasure.
Drove him to a Home Coming performance at San Jose State. I had the same impression. What a talented, great guy. In person shy, but friendly; on stage a dynamo.
I love these two men. Listening to a couple of guys, who I have emulated at times, talk about the ones they emulate, spoke to me. Thanks for hosting this Bill.
Dana was brilliant in his quick subject change of Mike Meyers to then Robin Williams. Unbelievably classy and avoided any potential awkwardness with his friend Mike.
i'm not sure why Bill even had that impression of Mike when he just hung out with him once. And it sounded like Mike was just being polite and didn't get too personal.
But it was interesting to see that two comedians we have enjoyed are very different and as unusual as Bill Maher is, he is too regular American guy to "feel" Mike. And it even puzzled him. But I think Mike found himself incapable of opening up to Bill. Maybe he wished he could be a political commentator or have that i'm ok you're ok as long as we have weed attitude haha. I like Mike and hope he wasn't too irked by this.
@@spandabliss1708 I heard Mike Meyers was difficult to work with and demanding back then when he was making 'The Cat in the Hat' and other films during that period. He did disappear for a while after the failure of 'The Love Guru'. Maybe he changed his act now that he is back. Hopefully, for the people around him.
This podcast is far and away the greatest of them all. You get to be the fly on the wall while you watch two people just having a very interesting conversation that's funny, serious, and insightful.
Another Great episode Bill.... Bill inviting comedians to his New Year's stand up event in Hawaii is the equivalent of Johnny Carson inviting a comedian to sit on the couch after performing... these are the people Bill loves and appreciates 👍
That was so much fun. Dana is always hysterical but now I see he genuinely down-to-earth and real. Thanks Bill. I only wish you talked more! Bravo guys!
Glad to see Dana having this resurgence thanks to podcasting becoming big. He's one of the biggest comedic talents ever but after SNL didn't get harnessed properly.
One of the greatest Guests in Club Random ! Dana Carvey is always funny. His Voice acting on "A weird place" is so out of this World 🤯. What a great guy🙌😎
Bill Maher & Dana Carvey in the same room cutting up for an hour 😲😎 I'm so happy right now 😊 6 a.m. having my coffee watching this It's going to be a good day ❤️ From Texas y'all
So good to see Dana Carvey still having that charisma that made him popular 30+ years ago, especially considering he had health scares along the way. This was a fun episode!

This was such a rare pleasure. Seeing Maher and Carvey (two of my favourite guys) riff together and get a little tipsy, I feel like I'm hangin' with the boys. Please have Dana back again sometime.
If there's anything I'd want Dana to know it's that he had such an early impact on me. I am an amateur standup comedian at just 24 years old. His impression work on the film Master of Disguise sealed my fate at an early age as wanting to act crazy for a career.
This is great! Came here to catch up on Gene Simmons and another amazing interview just dropped!! So glad this is happening, all these great guests; setting notifications to All.
Carvey is such a mensch and such a positive guy. At 18:00 you can see Bill wants to randomly talk crap about someone(Mike Myers) and Dana right away cuts him off to let him know "He's a good friend of mine". Like, "Hey bro, whatever you're about to say,...tread lightly now". Love people like that. Why go negative at all but definitely why on someone so connected to your guest? Ugh.
I agree. My favorite part of the interview. Dana Carvey is brilliant. Hilarious. When Bill wants to get edgy and take a dig on Mike Myers Dana defends him and steers it to the positive in a beautiful way. Dana Carvey is awesome.
One of the funniest comedy shows I ever saw was Dana Carvey and Dennis Miller at Caesar's Palace in Lake Tahoe in 1988. After the show, I sat down and played blackjack with Miller and got to shake Dana's hand.
Miller was on his way to being one of the best!...but then, he became way too political, and not so funny...check out his youtube vids, where he had Norm McDonald on...my god, they were insanely funny together!

I haven't liked a couple of the recent ones, but this is ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! Congrats Bill, you premiered a joke referencing Dana Carvey and he ran with it. That is a rare moment in showbiz.
I don’t necessarily agree with Bill on all things. However, I respect him more than almost anyone else in entertainment, the media, all video broadcasting forums, for his ability to disagree, talk about it, and not immediately decide the other person(s) is EVIL and should be shut down and canceled. My biggest kudos. Everyone should follow his example. If keeping yourself saturated with THC 24x7, it’s better than what the US looks like right now. Thank you Bill for showing us how to have a conversation. This show has a deep meaning. I hope people pick up on it.
I saw Dana film his Netflix special in Boston in 2016. He was so funny I wiped tears from eyes twice. Best comedy show I've ever seen even though I saw Bill in Vegas last month. Sorry Bill.
its actually super wholesome how much Bill clearly likes/ admires him... made my night lol
OK, but he cuts him off endlessly.
Some one he likes as much as himself.
Well, that might be pushing it.
Dana seems like such a nice, down to earth guy. He's a living legend, and I've been a fan since I was a kid. He can be so funny, it makes you cry.
He followed me back on Twitter lol
What if the Epstein island customer list comes out and Dana's name is on it? I would be surprised. Now if Howard Stern was on it I would be like, "Figures".
Unless you have Asperger’s.
I love DC as much as the rest of you, but it struck me as a bit smug when he felt the need to point out "I have millions of dollars".
