Jay had his mouth piece agent ( see the made for TV movie about it, with Kathy Bates playing Jay's agent or ?) and I am sure many other paid people who were pushing for him and saying things that were true and maybe some that were not, when he took the TS from Dave and then when it was his time to go, even if he was #1 in his time slot, he did the same thing to Conan as he did to Dave and Bill thinks he's just one guy, by himself, trying to keep his career going, while helping others

      Anyone interested in the battle for Late Night after Carson left, should watch the HBO film “The Late Shift”. The 2 actors that played Leno and Letterman really nailed their parts. And all the maneuvering & chaos that was going on, behind the scenes, was really something to see. Jay’s female manager (played by Kathy Bates) was definitely the craziest. She actually refused to have certain celebrity guests because they were on Arsenio, insulted NBC execs to their faces and canceled the Tonight Show minutes before it aired live. Jay, who was in denial about how bad she was, was basically told by NBC either you fire her or you’ll lose the show. I’m glad he made the right choice.

Second, I watched about 11:10 of this and, through the magic of the Internet, found the/a "Politically Incorrect" episode with Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carola, (plus two unknown female authors of two books that, after it was over, wish they hadn't come), watched it and died laughing. Bill literally has not lost a step! The old stuff is just as funny as the new and I definitely found something to occupy my time...for now.

      When I was a child in the 70’s, I broke a thermometer 🌡 in my mouth, got bit by a stray dog 🐶 on my face, climbed up on a stove and turned the burners 🔥on and stuck a key 🔑 in a light socket. My mom took me to the emergency room so many times that they told her they were gonna investigate her for child abuse if I showed up again. And that doesn’t even include all my dirt bike and 3 wheeler accidents in my teens.
      It’s amazing I’m still alive. Also… Sorry mom!

    Bill is incredibly well-versed in global political history and this combines with his quick wit and his sharp sense of humor to inspire confidence in his opinions among millions of people around the world.
    That said, a lot of his recent talking points in regards to science and qualified opinions from the medical community are rather uninformed, and sometimes, blatantly wrong.
    The dangers of fractionated oils, trans fats, and the slew of carcinogens that pervade our society have not been suddenly discovered (although it sounds like Bill has only recently found out).
    I, and many others, has known for many decades that these foods (and countless other common products in America) are nasty poisons that are often at the root of our current health crises.
    Despite what Bill stated,
    vaccines DO provide a focused immune response to Covid, if you have the particular vaccine that was designed to target the particular strain you were exposed to. Nobody said that they prevent you from contracting or are 100% effective against new strains.
    Medical science is not perfect, by a long shot, but there's so much more to it than simply "they were wrong". They have lied to manipulate the public opinion/fear/demand. They have also promoted foods/ systems that were produced by big financial donors, and there have also been people on the cutting edge with info that didn't align with the profit motives of the medical industry.
    So it's not as cut and dried as "they don't know what they're talking about." It's far more complex....

    • @williampiel5030
      @williampiel5030 2 роки тому

      Yeah, I thought the “every body of water is polluted” starts to get silly because it’s not like all pollution is equally bad. Chemicals and carcinogens are everywhere and humans are pretty resilient.
      Regarding the “we know nothing”: Bill is talking more about common wisdom and the public health messages that trickle down. The “low fat” message of the 1970s turned into high carb and high sugar industrial foods in the 1980s, sending obesity shooting up. That was a major goof-up in public health messaging, even if there were plenty of scientific papers saying otherwise.
      With respect to COVID19: Bill has caught it at least once. Each time is like a free vaccination. So he’s getting his vaccinations in his own way, which is fine.
