- Hello there! This is a deleted Scene from Star Wars The Clone Wars Umbara ARC, in which Captain Rex, Fives, Jesse, and Kix fight off the Umbaran forces, and attempt to execute Jedi General Pong Krell!

Interesting that Captain Rex originally had a phase 2 helmet. I wonder what it would have looked like fully animated.

@@asian_stryder i agree, because there was concept art for Rex's helmet following the episode that we first see phase 2 (i think it was mercy mission or something)
Well. For a few days in the war he was phase 2 before he finished welding the armor together.

I think it’s hilarious how some troopers just have their names on their chestplate to tell them apart from other clones
I think that’s solely for the animators to tell which clone trooper is to be shown and speaking in the scene.

These are less deleted scenes and more WIP scenes. Most of these are actually im the show, just edited to some degree. Still happy to see the process

5:27 I find it scary how there were multiple Vixus in that one small area. In the final cut it is hard to see how it blends into the environment. Pretty freaky
I think that makes it even creepier. It's so dark and foggy on that godforesaken rock that you don't know what the hell is even on the ground next to you. And that could be a carnivorous plant that wants to eat you. (Shudder)
In 4:54 there is a lot of dead corpses of the clones and I can understand why they changed the clones corpses later to keep it “ safe for children “
Doubt it. these episodes were still pretty brutal overall. but you may still be right.

Although there is a pretty decent chance they are still there in the finished product, just with the rest of the environment and fog there you just can't see them.

This battle feels like war of the worlds, with humans fighting desperately against terrifyingly advanced alien technology.

After seeing how they treated comandos in The Bad Batch, maybe it was for the best

Im glad I watched the Darth Maul episode on TV but it's a CRIME I missed the Umbara arc. I was 7 when it came out.
I was probably 15 when it came out. Each week, I always wondered how the clones were going to capture the Umbaran capital and kill General Krell.
I wasn't old enough to understand why it was against military procedure to execute Krell as a prisoner, but the older I got, I realized why Dogma had to be the one to do it.
Rex would have originally killed him tho.
I was born in 2004, and Clone Wars started in 2008. I was between 6 and 8 when I first discovered it. So between 2010 and 2012. But I really had problems with the show initially. One was understanding that there were NOT 4 episodes in the show. Another was finding out there was more than one season. The final one was finding a way to watch it. Remember, we didn't have Disney+ back then.

That scene was kept in the episode. It's Interresting to notice that unlike in TCW, we haven't seen "good guys" killing in cold blood in Disney era animated shows (rebels and the bad batch)
I love this stage of animation because you know it took time and what it is meant to and could be but it’s also hilarious

I also wonder how it would have looked if the battle of unbara was taken place when the clones were still in phase 1 armor. We could have seen Tup’s phase 1 armor.
I think Tup was a Rookie; as in, Umbara was his first mission.

when is was a kid, i remember being genuinely terrified when the Umbaran crab tanks showed up. The part when rex sees them through the trees and pans up to show the guns is still terrifying.
Might have to buy the blue ray dvd for the bonus features, seems like a good place to get some CW blaster sound effects
ngl this was probably one of the best arc in the whole series was terrified and awe struck when I first watched it.

My Headcanon is that the Umbarans are the Star Wars equivalent to the Covenant in terms of technology.
These aren’t deleted scenes but I’m still happy to see them in a different state.
Wait, the only really deleted sequence is that Banshee attack, right? Anyways, Rex's phase 2 helmet is cursed.
Alright, seeing the proto phase 2 Rex model in the animatics is so weird, but i really wish we could at least see him wearing a normal phase 2 helmer with his markings, like, at least just once and done, like he got it and at the end of a mission he was like "nah not my style" and proceeded to customize it

The Ratchet Dead lock soundtrack caught me off guard, I’ve been going through the show again and listing to game’s soundtrack when I’m drawing.
So hearing it felt normal, but then I realized: “hay way, I’m on mobile, and I’m not drawing… wait what’s happening?”
Took me a bit it was coming off this video.
Not many combine that soundtrack with Star Wars.
