Thank you Australia for your kind hosting of our boys in SWBTA so that the SAF could get the realistic training needed to remain a potent force. And thank you to the local community for being so welcoming and accommodating of our boys during R&R that left a lasting and memorable impression of their time in the army. Many of our boys go back to Australia for vacation and even brought their families along, all because of the wonderful time shared with our Australian friends while serving their National Service years ago. Here's to another 30 more years of beautiful friendship between our two countries!
Was there in 2014. Good times and the SFI food was the best in my 2 years in the saf. Aussies should feel blessed they have such a huge continent to themselves.
Still rmbr early this yr the SAF provided support to put out the wildfires via Chinooks. This is what military should be about, diplomacy and collaboration. We help each other, not fight each other.
My rebro friend on a bike during exercise got into an accident with a wallaby. Broke his leg and could not continue. Still we all preserved and finished the exercise. Wallaby. Tiger hill camp. Walao. Brought a tear to my eye! Still got the Rockhampton Zoo!!!
If there is sesmic activity in storage areas of = Shoal water bay, darwin, Perth-air-training, alice-springs = Policy to advise australians to do containment. Example - i repatriate non-exercise, (base)camp, troops. You bill me later, if you are alive. Munitions and vehicles and vessels become IED in such scenario.sss

I was there in 1982 at Rockhamton, the very first batch pioneer, I was with 20SA B company. a small battery attachments involved with the exercise. 😅
Was there 1993 wonderful training area, crystal clear water at great barrier reef
