- The King will open Parliament for the first time as monarch with a return to the full pomp and ceremony of the occasion, as the Queen re-wears her coronation dress.
King Charles will deliver his first King's Speech at around 11.25am.

Just a reminder that the King’s Speech is entirely written by the Government (such that he is absolutely politically neutral). For those in the Commonwealth realms, although it is acceptable there for the Governor-General to make some personal remarks prior or after the Throne Speech, in the UK the King never does that.

There was no neatrality in that speech my friend. Dude said my kingdom how many times. He got the prime ministers standing 😂. Plus dynamic economies basically means his colonies 😂

In constitutional monarchies, the Crown is synonymous with the State in republics and the Monarch is the embodiment of the Crown (though in constitutional monarchies, they only rule with the consent of Parliament which represents the people). When a Prime Minister is elected, he/she goes to the King where the King invites the PM to create a government in his name hence the government is termed “His Majesty’s Government”. The Crown’s powers are officially vested in the King (since again Crown equals State) but in the constitutional system is not exercised by the King but is exercised by the elected officials or “Government”.

Without Elizabeth II, the Opening of Parliament🏛 looks like something big is missing. For me it became something like a “black and white frame” 🖤🤍 Her absence is very noticeable for the Royal Family and for the whole world🌎. I miss the queen👸. Without her, everything looks different... 😢
And yet she formed her son from conception onward to be her replacement. He even looks like a male version of her, and he was additionally nurtured by her own mother.
Everything is a creation especially the value we create for anything that matters. Queen Elizabeth had her time by the grace of God. Now it is King Charles 's time to make a difference
It would have been similar when Queen Victoria passed and Edward V11 her son became king .

In 2023 it still remains beautiful and compelling. The 17-18th century wigs and red uniforms were weirdly nostalgic. Seem like a step-up from modern suits. Perhaps they should to back and introduce those old uniforms in parliament for everyone.
Represents the burden of responsibility on their shoulders, as well as symbolically embodies the importance of their positions, and decisions.

A lot of us brits don’t want it done like this. The government is now planning to ban tents because the amount of homeless people in them is apparently not pretty to look at. So rather than help these people. They want to ban the last resort they have. But they can afford all of this nonsense? A lot of us are sick of it.

I'm a monarchist at heart, too. The punch line is that I am American. While I revere our constitution, I think that the presence of a monarch would put a damper on bad actors, such as those trying to ignore our constitution and pervert our republic.

I thought his speech was absolutely perfect and covered all bases. I understand why people want a republic however I trust Charles more than any elected body.
Also the King just keeps an eye on things and gives advice if needed, never personally interfering. Elected head of GOV and the King as head of state is a perfect solution which the UK has. I’d prefer a head of state who fears MUCH worse than a loss of popularity if he betrays his people. 🔥
It’s an issue with wording and how the language has changed over years. The state is NOT the government, they are two entirely different concepts and two different words trapped within a homophone. The “state” is the nation, the physical land as well as everything within it, its people, and its overall health or “status”.

The Queen's "assistants" whatever they are called. Queen Camilla does not want to have formal "Ladies in Waiting" --- a postion reserved for aristocrats in the past. They help her put on her robes, answer corrspondance, keep up with her schedule, run inteference, that sort of stuff. One of them may be her sister.
It trancends all politics. Beautifull!
And that, my friend, is the whole point of a Constitutional Monarchy!
