The James Bond helicopter through Londan/Skydiving stunt was not only the Queen's idea, she actually RESEARCHED to find a helicopter that could pull it off, and insisted on adding the personal touch of making Bond wait a moment while she finished her paperwork.
Fun fact: since the first James Bond novel was published in 1953, and the queen coronation was the same year (though she was queen in 1952 when king George VI died), technically, every James Bond books and movies always called the monarch her majesty
I've always admired her sense of humor and personality. The longest reigning monarch in British history and the longest reigning female ruler in human history. She earned those titles with elegance. Rest well, Queen Elizabeth II. There will never be another like yourself.
Never met her, but i do miss her. She was a brilliant representation of our country! I dont think anyone will ever match her brilliance but i do have real hope for the william and kate monarchy - they are both phenomenal people.
My favourite story about the Queen is about the then crown prince of Saudi Arabia visiting Balmoral and agreeing to a tour of the estate. Coming from a country where it’s illegal for women to drive, he didn’t expect the Queen herself to get on the driver’s seat and use her wartime skills as an army driver to basically Vin Diesel her way through the Scottish countryside, all the while constantly talking to him. To say the prince was *shooketh* is an understatement.
Richard Attenborough could have - should have - said that quite differently, so as not to make anyone look a fool for having a sundial in what is now a shady spot.
Her dialogue with Paddington Bear, in hindsight, sounded like a valedictory speech although I thought would last several more years. My consolation is that Paddington Bear represented us all in time to convey our deepest and sincere gratitude to her literally for everything before she went aloft to oversee her son for the next decades. I cannot express enough how lonely I feel about my first Christmas without her warm yet thoughtful message. Thank you for everything, Your Majesty.
When she said "I'm sure" that the sundial wasn't on the shade, rightfully proves that she had lived a long life. An average tree fully matures around 30 years. She will be missed and remembered by many generations to come.
Well she could have been a bit more strategic with planting those trees (yes i know....who thinks about what a tree will do to a sundial 30 years later... IT'S A JOKE)

I have nothing but respect for her devotion and love of her country, of which she has served tirelessly throughout her entire reign. A world without her in it feels so surreal but I'm glad she's reunited with her husband. May her Majesty rest in peace.

I've never been a royalist however I find myself a little weepy eyed at this. She seemed to always do everything right and I don't think there will be another one like her. She kept the British tradition alive and in her death I can recognize and acknowledge her role that she played with conviction throughout her reign. Rest well, your legacy is timeless.
She's not perfect, surely made mistakes along the way but she kept British people together.
I really can't believe this....
Rip
how do you know that? have you seen her anywhere except social media or witnessing their politics and managing system? its always people who keep the traditions alive. so why we simply dont stop to obey and tribute someones rules and always thinking there should be a better man to govern us? why we dont rely on our own thinking and personal analysis and just stop these tributes on this century?
Totally agree! I didn't expect to be as affected by her death as I am and I'm no royalist either but she will always have my respect! And now she's gone it's the end of an era and I don't believe in the monarchy now since her and Philip are gone!
'I'm not a royalist but..' Lolllllll
Being an American, I never really followed the royal family's drama, but I always thought she seemed like a fun, charming lady and a fun grandma.

Yep. We need Charles to abdicate asap.
Epic - thank you for sharing
One of my favourite stories.
Yeah I remember this, had me in stitches 🤣.
I’d imagine something like:
“So how was your day?” the Queen said calmly as she started drifting.
That is so great. 😀
The little bit at the end with Paddington thanking her, was so wholesome and beautiful. What a life. What a woman. Thank you your Majesty.
