    My hair is 2a/2b. I'm looking at it in a positive way... I get the best of both worlds. I can comb it straight when it's wet and it will dry in a fairly straight, formed style. If I want it much wavier, I use the curly girl method of scrunching in styling products. Thank you for showing how to do the pineapple method. I was trying to figure out how to do that, and your hair is about the length of my hair right now.

    I have VERY similar story to you! When you talked about sleeping with wet hair and waking up with curls? That was me in high school! I always joked that my hair was bipolar because sometimes it was like wavy straight other times it was wavy curly. Figuring out my hair has just been odd journey lol

    Yes thank you! I don't actually want to put a lot of effort into having curlier curls, just healthy hair, and less frizz, so seeing something encouraging that is nice

    I just discovered your channel and Instagram account and I truly appreciate another wavy girl's point of view! It's really encouraging how you show multiple ways to wear our wavy hair! Even though some of your suggestions aren't technically "CG," I like how you see outside the box and really get the most out of your hair type! I have mostly 2a/2b hair (with some crazy 2c on a really good day) and have been CG since Fall 2016, but I've had 2 babies in that time and have not always had the time, energy, inclination to keep trying new things and even doing moisturizing and protein treatments (I have 6 kids altogether!). I got burned out from always looking for new products and also for never knowing exactly how my hair would turn out. Last summer, before my 6th baby was born (and I actually sometimes had a little time to spend on my hair somedays), I would go through all the effort of washing, squishing to condish, adding product and then diffusing, and get super cute waves, only to have them and my volume droop down within an hour. In retrospect maybe I should have done a protein treatment of some kind. But, here I am almost a year later and I just bought one of those new "one-step" hairdryers because I was ready to give up on CG and just have predictably nice. In reality, I don't really have the time (or I'm not willing to spend the time) even blow drying my hair! I did use it once, but I'm honestly afraid to use it regularly after getting my hair relatively healthy from the CG method. BUT, I have very little time to spend on my hair. In the mornings as it is, I wake up early to nurse the baby and get my school-aged kids ready. And by night time, I'm exhausted I do wash my hair at night often, but usually don't have the energy to dry it. When I use products it also makes my hair take so long to dry. I'm definitely going to try the routine from this video sometime that I wash my hair in the morning, but do you have any other suggestions for me? I'd like to avoid the blow dryer and keep my hair healthy (or even get it healthier than it is now), without spending so much time.

    Some times I wish my hair could do that, but my hair is just a little too coarse and a little too curly to do that. It would make my life a heck of a lot easier if I could. My hair usually looks the best with some gel and a little bit of cream. But the other day I bought Shea Moistures new Leave in Silicone free Miracle Leave In. I cleansed my scalp, used their Miracle Silicone free Mask (not my favorite mask by them) and then I Just put in the Leave in Conditioner and OMG i was shook how good that stuff is! I had very little frizz and my hair curled beautifully! My new fav routine. I recommend trying that Miracle leave in

    This video helped a lot! I assumed I could never get lots of waves or any curls in my hair because I'm a 2A. But your hair looks like mine in this video (you might be a little wavier) but by following the CG method in your other videos, you can get a lot more wave and curls in your hair. I am just finding this out for myself.

    Hi, I have virtually the same hair type as you, super fine, medium to high density, and everything from a 2a to a 2c and I'll occasionally find some 3a curls in my hair. My porosity is a bit different because I dye my hair as I've been greying since I was 18 years old (I'm now 36). So I have areas of low, medium, and high porosity. I too can seem to have little to no wave, however that does not mean you or I are fake wavies. What you are doing by wrapping your hair like that in a towel and combing out your hair and letting it dry that way is training your hair to lie straight as opposed to letting it curl. I would bet if you did everything you do on a wash day just with only a leave in and no product (I mean scrunching and diffusing) your hair would still be it's natural wavy/curly self just less defined and very frizzy. 😉

      Agreed! But by doing it this way allows the weight of the water to dry my hair smooth. Without setting me back in the hair health department. 👌🏻🙌🏻

    New subscriber here....
    This wash is something that I think I can do, and live with.
    I've never been a "product" person and like soft touchable hair.
    I have the three items you used in my Amazon cart, and am looking forward to incorporating your washing techniques in my routine.
    BTW, I just turned 80 and love my long, layered, salt and pepper greys.

    I'm also a "fake" wavie!! If I let my hair air dry its mostly straight with some texture but not looking nice enough for me to brush and leave. I end up putting it up in a bun :( I started the curly girl method Jan 2019 but stopped around April because it just wasn't working out for me and then I got pregnant in April and my morning sickness did not allow me to dump my head upside down to continue with the CGM. I love your channel and am binge watching all of them, as I am now 34 weeks pregnant and after baby I def want to see where I can go with the CGM again and get my hair healthy. I definitely want to invest in a microwaveable heat cap like your Hot Head one! Thanks for the great videos!

      April Pacholski Yay! I’m glad you found it! I try and wait until my hair is 100% dry, but honestly sometimes I’m so tired at night it goes up before it’s completely dry. I love using marked up shampoo and conditioner! Their stuff is awesome! I love using it on “curly” days. Always leave my hair soft and happy!

    • @SwavyCurlyCourtney
      @SwavyCurlyCourtney  5 років тому +3

      It depends! 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣 It sometime stays smooth enough that I don’t have to. But I will smooth things into place very very gently with a brush if I have to on follow up days.

      hey, same! Pre CGM my hair was in a bun or ponytail all the time. Now i've noticed pinning my bangs or front pieces back helps when i feel like putting it up but just went through all that washday to make it pretty :) There are beautiful claw hairpins (on aliexpress if youre on a budget) to do that!

    I just tried using that leave in and I noticed that it made my hair feel kind of weird and almost rough. Does this mean that I used too much for my hair?

    • @amberc9936
      @amberc9936 3 роки тому +1

      It has protein in it so either your hair has slight protein overload or you have a protein sensitivity.

    • @christinacamonayan5260
      @christinacamonayan5260 3 роки тому

      @@amberc9936 Ahh, that makes sense. So then should I try pairing it with a shampoo/conditioner with less protein if I want to use it?

    • @amberc9936
      @amberc9936 3 роки тому +1

      @@christinacamonayan5260 Yup! You may want to lay off the protein altogether until your hair stops feeling rough.
