This is my second day of going naturally curly. 50% of the time I straighten, the other I air dry and go pretty natural. You can see in my photo on left, I have curl to my hair. How curly do you think my hair will end up using the method? I am just curious. I did recently cut off about 5 inches, very similar right now to when you cut yours. Thanks, enjoy your stuff!!

This was super helpful! I have been using (for styling) Trelux, pantene mousse and that spiraliscious gel but my hair just doesn't hold or keep the curl definition much past day 2! After watching this video it is CLEAR that I am not doing enough technique well before diffusing like scrunching, etc. I am going to try this all my next wash day and try the uncle funkies with the jessicurl and nix the other things and see how it goes. I enjoy your stuff because your hair is almost identical to the curl type I have so to see it curl up makes me hopeful!

How often should you use a clarifying shampoo and do a rice water rinse? I'm new to the CG Method and I've been co-washing for about 3 weeks now. My hair is so damaged from heat and bleaching it. I've done some research and I'm pretty sure I have high porosity hair that needs more protein along side moisture.
I also have a lot of product build up on my scalp, at the moment its really dry and itchy.
I'm looking into getting some more products like a curl enhancer cream because at the moment I just use mousse and gel, both of which are CG safe.
Any Advice would be great, I'm really struggling at the moment. My hair just looks so sad at the moment :(
Just to add I love your channel and watching your videos, you've given me so much inspiration.

I'm going to do ALL of that routine as soon as the rest of my products have arrived and I can't wait! Just one question, do you make rice water just by boiling rice and if so what type of rice? Also I can't get Suave in Australia so what Clarifying shampoo would you recommend? Mop Top Natural Detox shampoo? Devacurl Buildup Buster? Inahsi Clarifying? Or something else? I also have access to Jessicurl, Innersense, Giovanni and Curls and a number of drugstore brands. Sorry about the long questions. Love your work Courtney. And you're adorable! Melissa :)

Michele Anderson reallifecurlygirl talked about that once...I think it’s in her 10 Commandments for Wavies video (I may have the title wrong, but it’s close). It’s because our hair doesn’t just slide out all the time like straight hair. It stays stuck in with its friends until we make it move out. 😊

Hey Courtney! So I have fine, low-density, low-porosity, shoulder-length hair that seems to be something around a 2a (b-ish sometimes). Last night I tried this because ECO Styler olive oil gel left my hair straight and stringy due to glycerin + hydrolyzed wheat protein, ugh! I only started this journey around Aug 1st and my hair is getting straighter and straighter as the months go on. I think I have hygral fatigue?? So I tried a clarify (Amika), rice water rinse, and deep condition (Jessicurl). I squished in a little MopTop curl custard after, plopped, halfway diffused and air dried and my hair is still straight and stringy. Less dry frizz and very silky, but it's behaving like 1b/c and not my usual 2a. I don't know what to do! I was really hoping this technique would help my waves form again :[ Any advice??

Amanda Ninivaggi it really depends on how my hair is feeling. I can do it once every two weeks to once every two months. I tend to try and do a stretch test on my hair to see if it needs moisture, or if it needs protein. Melissa Peters thank you! You know I think my hair personally holds onto water like crazy. But my sisters hair (in the previous video I posted) does not. What worked for her was to continually add water after each product was applied. I would recommend getting a flairisol bottle and spraying more and more water in your hair until the clumps stay together during product application. Also how often do you deep condition? I really noticed my clumps staying together better when I started deep conditioning more regularly.

Funnily enough, all the deep conditioners I have here say “leave on 3-5 minutes before rinsing it out”. Never seen such a thing that’s supposed to stay on for 15-30 minutes.

Question: How much hair product do you use?
    Answer: ...Yes.

According to Bianca Renee here on YT, yr not going to get a cast if u use a leave in! Personally I haven't found a leave in that I'm fond of yet, I'd rather have a cast so I prob won't have frizz. Yr hair & curl type is very close to mine, thx for posting!

So how long total time did it take you to wash your hair with "the works"?

zoetic26 not as long as you would think! Haha the hot head really cuts down in deep conditioning time. I would say total, washing, treatments, styling, diffusing, etc probably an hour.

@@SwavyCurlyCourtney Do you do your long wash days "the works" at night or do you get up earlier one morning to do all this? Time is a big factor for me and I'm trying to be "get up and go" in the morning.

Lee Ford-Faherty this would be a self care Sunday type routine. On my day off. Not when I have to hurry up and get out the door.

If you had low porosity hair your hair would repel water..... you have medium porosity from what I see...

Lisa Grillo Murray you know you are absolutely right! Since making this video 6 months ago I have realized that. Thank goodness for The Curly Ninja! Haha for the longest time I thought that hi porosity hair meant your hair was damaged, and I was convinced my hair was not damaged. Little did I know you could have high porosity hair that was not damaged. The longer I do this the more I learn each day!

Girl your hair is more curly than wavy so its not true wavy. Wish there were more videos of people with actually wavy hair.
