It was supplied by the lovely team at Henton & Chattell. www.mowerworld.co.uk
This can be somewhat of a controversial subject! There is an argument that sending a solid tine into the ground is not actually aerating the soil, as the times can compact the soil as they press into the ground. But what they are effective for (In my humble opinion) is reliving the surface tension of the soil and creating a void that can effectively collapse in on itself creating cracks and reliving some surface compaction.
It is also a great option - as in this instance, where creating plug holes would not have fit in with the available time, and the scheduled use of this surface for an upcoming wedding.

I could watch that machine go around all day. When you put the Solid tines in you don't need to use the Jam Nut? Can you get extra depth using Solid or Hollow tines if you don't screw them in all the way and use the Jam nut to lock them so to get an extra 10mm or so of depth?
Fair play for spotting the Nut - I didn’t swap it on to the solid times for this area of lawn, as I was swapping them back over straight after. The nut does allow you to alter the depth 👍 Thank you for watching
Fantastic editing pal
😀 Thank you 👍
Just bought the camon version. Great tools to have mate.
😀 Cool. Having our own aerator has been a game changer - No more booking a machine from the hire centre, only to have it pour with rain the whole time you have it.
Also being able to pop out with the solid tines after a busy wedding has made a big difference 😀
@@TheFullyChargedGardener you just need to attract more women in heels to the weddings. Boom aeration done 😂
@@scottellwoodgardening287 🤣🤣🤣
Have you had a chance to do it on any slope? How's it do coming up the hill?
I will see if I can film some footage of it working on a slope 👍 Most of the lawns I use this unit on are pretty flat.
great video mate :)
😀 Thank you for watching 👍
Seems like you get a lot of moisture in your region. I bet this area would perform really well if you introduced sand to the profile.
This lawn takes so much abuse - Has thousands of people walking over it every year, tents on it, bars on it, all kinds of wedding related stuff.
I hate solid tines with a passion, but that does look nice. Our local premier Park uses 300mm long solid tines during festivals to allow drainage where people walk and would normally bring up sub soil water to the surface and create pugging.
The solid times are so useful for working on the lawns after a big wedding. The lawns get at least one hollow core treatment every year as well 👍
Wow. I like your machine. Where do I buy from and what's it called?
