  • Solid time aeration with the Billygoat AE1300 HEU
We have this machine on Demo, as we wanted to look at a high capacity aerator that would allow us to do some low impact aeration during the summer wedding season.
This machine certainly impressed! As you will see from the footage in the video - you can hardly tell the machine has been on the lawn.
The variable aeration density is fantastic. This allows you to place a concentration of holes exactly where the turf needs it.
I was also very impressed by the manoeuvrability of the machine.
I have another video of the machine working on a larger area, where I will demonstrate the machines ability to turn without having to lift the tine unit.
    Very impressive bit of kit.
    www.billygoat....
This machine combines true 30"/ 76 cm wide aeration and speed up to 6,9 km/h to complete 1.600m2 in as little as 15 minutes. That is 59% faster than a 26"/ 66 cm drum. Plus no more lifting on turns, aerate in reverse, do trim and edges with ease and significantly improve hole quantity and quality.
Variable Aeration Density (VAD™) from 8 to 48 holes per square metre in one pass and variable hydrostatic drive for aeration in both forward and reverse.
The FLEXTECH™ arms make the core depths up to 2x that of drums. The In-Ground Turning feature provides unmatched manoeuverability, ergonomics, ease of turning, improved production, reduced downtime and turf repair when compared to drum aerators.
The Honda engine produces 390cc of power.

I see the holes. Better than the ol Patterson drum spike that's for sure. Nice video as per usual sir.

The holes are visible, but that is to be expected with how many I punched in 🤣 A drum spike would have been a royal pain in the arse on this lawn 🤣

Very manoeuvrable for its size, the hydrostatic drive is so smooth, hardly any wheel marks. 😀

Nice to see this video as I recently priced this unit up. Just short of 10k but should make its money back.

It really is very impressive. I have another video of it working on some rough ground we have. 😀

Compost and plenty of worms keep working on aeration 24/7.

They do indeed - and that works on most of the garden here. Helped by large quantities of poop from the estate cattle.
But when you have up to 250 people walking on this small lawn in a day. Over a dry summer - it takes its toll.

Certainly a beast and better than some goats or A herd of Caribou

How low should you cut the grass before you aerate, how many inches?

    • @TheFullyChargedGardener
      @TheFullyChargedGardener  Рік тому

Hi, if you are doing solid tine aeration then the length of the grass won’t really matter, the only thing it will do if it is really long is potentially start wrapping and clogging the machine. If you are doing hollow core aeration, shorter grass is definitely beneficial, as it will help with clearing the cores and top dressing if you are going to do that afterwards.
No need to scalp the lawn.

Can the tines be changed to hollow?
