Oh my glob, what an amazing conversation.
I imagine this to be the easiest production of TTA this year. Seth didn't need to research, no graphics, no script. Just drop a cue and "run Forrest run". Probably in a completely different direction than expected.

"Religion is, indeed, the self-consciousness and self-esteem of man who has either not yet won through to himself, or has already lost himself again. But man is no abstract being squatting outside the world. Man is the world of man - state, society. This state and this society produce religion, which is an inverted consciousness of the world, because they are an inverted world. Religion is the general theory of this world, its encyclopaedic compendium, its logic in popular form, its spiritual point d’honneur, its enthusiasm, its moral sanction, its solemn complement, and its universal basis of consolation and justification. It is the fantastic realization of the human essence since the human essence has not acquired any true reality. The struggle against religion is, therefore, indirectly the struggle against that world whose spiritual aroma is religion.
Religious suffering is, at one and the same time, the expression of real suffering and a protest against real suffering. Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people.
The abolition of religion as the illusory happiness of the people is the demand for their real happiness. To call on them to give up their illusions about their condition is to call on them to give up a condition that requires illusions. The criticism of religion is, therefore, in embryo, the criticism of that vale of tears of which religion is the halo."

I love this conversation! Such good points. I think one of my favourite examples of the "American Dream" -mentality is how people say "you just gotta pull yourself up by your bootsrtraps" when they mean that you should just work really hard and not give up (and you too can become a billionare!). When originally the saying "pull yourself up by your own bootsrtraps" was used as an example of an impossible task. It's not possible to do that.

I just recently introduced one of my friends to Forrest's content so they could introduce it to their oldest kid. Who is a sponge when it comes to science and learning all sorts of things related. This kid loves this stuff.
Their son, loves learning games and content. And he spends a lot of time now watching content by Forrest. I get all sorts of questions from him about stuff I myself didn't watch or learn about something that Forrest talked about on whatever podcast or video on something. Sort of created a monster... LoL 😂
What is really cool is that for only being 7 going on 8 this kid is very adept in critical thinking and such and has a grasp on the whole god thing and how and why it makes no sense. He will just be blatant and ask people why ..and why the god thing or the bible thing. And challenge them and that how it makes no sense to him...then tell them why and speak about whatever that backs it up.
It gives hope that not all of the latest generations completely a lost cause.

Forrests' take on gods plan hits home to me, as a former muslim we believed in inshaAllah ( if allah wills) to the fullest degree. Even believing in Allahs decree is part of the articles of iman(faith). 😒im still in my angry phase of leaving religion, but i had a really hard time believing that allah truly loved me if he kept allowing all these bad things happen to me even though i believed, loved, fear, and was in awe of him. But were told that bad things happening to you IS allahs love😔. I was so conflicted and confused but i didnt allow myself to really question it.

Great video. I love how it was originally meant to be light hearted. But i love more how it turned to the reality of our dystopian world. I end up boring people with the knowledge ive learned in the attempt to educate and yes, wake people up. It was really good to see Forrest go on about the immorality and injustice in our world and that to fix it really wouldnt take much at all. We have everything we need to make sure everyone goes home at the end of the day happy. Its just the mental illness of small percentage of people who spoil this. We should not allow this. Just from the greed aspect, all religions and the non- religious agree that greed is bad but churches still do it, in the extreme, and we praise them and the billionaires for making a dystopia. Cognitive dissonance. Its well within out power to fix it but educating people to understand this is a long uphill battle. Especially when you have groups like Prager U and think tanks and monsters like Kissinger constantly pulling us into the parasite infected cess pool they cant do without.

Heard some say a little while back that they have no issues with how good their memory is, it's the filing system their brain uses that's faulty. I agree with this. Someone asks if you remember x outcome to Y situation and you say, "nope", and yet halfway through the first sentence the whole scenario comes tumbling back. All those questions asked in a quiz show that you only remember you know, and why you know, once the correct answer is given. Before then your brain was acting like a child sucking its thumb!

I agree with everything Forrest said 100%, and find him to be incredibly inspirational. I only hope that I'm able to achieve even a fraction of what he has already managed to do with his life.

I'm so used to Forrest's effusive positivity, even when confronting some of the worst bigots around, that I wasn't ready for the downer of a conversation about billionaires. He's absolutely right, of course, I've just never heard him speak so negatively about any subject and, it's the first time I've gotten a kind of hopeless feeling after hearing him speak.

Tom Paxton has a lovely song with the refrain, "If the poor don't matter, then neither do I." Billionaires treat the rest of us like we don't matter. Without all us people to exploit, they wouldn't have two cents.

I'm quite confident that I could not only provide a child with a better education than most public schools, but one that is also better than most private schools. For instance, why is algebra not part of the standard curriculum until the _sixth grade?_ Algebraic concepts are well within the cognitive grasp of elementary school students. Why is reading competency not a _prerequisite_ for first grade? I was reading the newspaper with my father _when I was three,_ so I know it's possible.
An accelerated pace isnt the only upside to a quality homeschool education, it also allows lessons to be taught at all times of the day, which teaches kids that learning is _always_ happening. Of course, homeschooling also prevents the presentation of bad information, like the current Floriduh educational policy regarding the history of slavery in the US. Yes, it can be socially isolating but that's what sports and D&D are for. Yes, a charismatic teacher like Forest might make school more fun, but that"s why what he used to do (for ten years? really? he doesnt seem that old) is an excellent accompaniment to a quality homeschool education.
