    *deep breath*
Robert Plant. The greatest lead man in the history of rock…to the greatest band in the history of Rock - Led Zeppelin.
Alison Krause - The Queen of Bluegrass!!
Zeppelin’s Black Dog from this concert must be heard!

Led Zeppelin with a bluegrass twist. Krauss and Plant are amazing together. Their album, Raising Sand, is a grammy winner. You can feel the chemistry. Please react to someof their music from this album. I really like Gone, Gone, Gone or The Letter. T Bone Burnett, who introduced them and produced their record, is one of the guitarists on the video.

Funnily enough I heard Raise the Roof first. I think I heard 'Somebody Was Watching Over Me' in a record shop, I was entranced, opened up BeatFind on my phone and found out who it was. So I got that album, and realised later there'd been another one ages ago. To be honest, I'm not sure I'd have liked it in 2007, but I've grown up since then.
I still prefer Raise the Roof, it's like a first love. ♥
And also, T. Bone Burnett - whose production on the last few Elton John albums I've found problematic - is just wonderful on these records.

Nice collaborations between Krauss & Plant. Good examples of the Celtic influences that you could always find in much American country & bluegrass music.

Had the pleasure of seeing him live yesterday night with Saving Grace. It’s a magical experience to see one of your idols live, even when you’re 16 and he’s 75! Still a great voice, and the band with Suzi Dian were amazing!

Great reaction Britt! You are correct, Alison has an amazing voice. She and Plant teamed up for two albums. The first in 2007, or so, and the second recently.

I was lucky enough to see them do this live in May. Robert sang it, though, and the arrangement was different. It was the same version they played at Glastonbury. It was incredible in person.

Allison is a Grammy winning bluegrass musicisn and singer, a child prodigy. When she steps out into different genres or duets, it is always Grammy winning. Aside from musicality, Grammys are why artists want to work with her.

An amazing and unexpected combination of artists. Alison has a beautiful and soft voice. The only concert I’ve been to where the audience begged for the volume to be increased so we could hear better. Listen to “Please Read the Letter” … “The Price of Love” and “Going Where the Lonely Go” by them.

Yes maam, there is a difference between a cello and a Bass. Its mostly about the size and depth of the body and sound chamber. The Bass has a larger body and a deeper sound chamber. The fingering surface(Fretboard on a guitar) is also wider than a cello. In Bluegrass the is known as a Bass Fiddle or Doghouse Bass. In Classical its the Bass Violin or Double Bass, but either form they can be bowed just like a cello or violin, or plucked, or slapped. Very interesting instrument.

Tremendous adaptation, they were great the last time they were together so no surprise they slipped right back in their groove. Awesome stuff to just chill out. The original Led Zeppelin song is a heavy blues trance, this song is just so good either way. We are not worthy! Enjoy. 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶

There's a hidden gem of a band from Norway who plays Bluegrass. They do some great covers of well known songs, one of which is Wayfaring Stranger ua-cam.com/video/4bvZ-WCkXGE/v-deo.html (All My Tears ua-cam.com/video/iMbbTQrC41o/v-deo.html from the same concert is also excellent)! They also do a cover of one of Allison Krauss's songs. Although it's a live performance it's professionally recorded so the production value is top-notch. Anyway, please consider them. They're so good!

Great pairing. Krauss is good at a haunting melody, and this song is perfect for that vibe. The original is interesting, the drums are really accentuated there. Good example of how close rock is to country or even bluegrass. This song really sounds like the bayou. Similar vibe - "Hurricane" by Band of Heathens.

  • @stephenrobinson3681

The Led Zeppelin version picked up on the original song's life threatening and destructive nature of a flood caused by a levee breaking, Krauss is a wonderful singer but her version is too ethereal and does not relate to the song's subject matter.
