They put out a very good album together. They did duets and also songs where Plant or Allison were the main singer whilst the other did back up vocals. I love their version of "Killing the Blues."
This is a beautiful song, with Allison's vocals being front and centre. I do appreciate the harmonies but I thought Robert would have played more of a lead. Lovely bluesy tune with great guitar work. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Lance. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Great reaction Harri! Alison and Robert have collaborated on 2 albums. On each, they sang together on most songs but then each had a couple of songs individually. This was a song that Alison sang herself.
Imagine being disappointed at only hearing Alison Krauss. The problem was your expectations, not the song. They mostly harmonize or swap off leads on songs. Keep checking other songs and you l’ll hear Robert. I get to see them live in May! Can’t wait. The great JD McPherson on lead guitar. He has fantastic solo music, too. Check out his song “Head Over Heels.”
Thanks for this great request Lance. I’m so glad these two iconic vocalists got together for some amazing performances. Thanks for your input Harri 🌺✌️
I like it when leadsingers can take a step back and let other musicians come first. That shows greatness and why not if it benefits the song. Best regards @all from hamburg (germany)
Wow what a great song! Do you understand Allison Krauss is as big a star in country and bluegrass as Robert Plant is in rock! You should check out more of their work together. Some songs Plant is lead vocals.I don't see how you could be disappointed in this great song!
Let me ask you this, Harri. If Robert had done the main vocal with Allison coming in on the chorus, would you still have been disappointed? The song (and indeed, their entire album) is a collab. Both partners are doing what the song calls for. I was personally not the least disappointed with Allison's beautiful vocal, or the overall result.
I've seen this on TV. Great performance. She has a Angelica voice and looks. Now that I've watched this it was a different song I saw them perform but this is really 🔥. I think they paired up nicely but yes I thought Robert was going to do more too
I'll be seeing them in Taos NM in June. The show will be held in Kit Carson Park, which is tiny! It's no bigger than two baseball fields. We are to bring our own chairs. No high backs. No blankets. Kit Carson's grave is in a small plot next door.
Both artists have great vocal abilities. I like Plant but you don’t give Allison enough credit. 😉 In their albums, they each have their own songs, where each sings lead.
I always considered Allison as more blues than country - probably an error on my part, but her voice just feels more like that :D is it heresy to think blues is a mix between jazz and country? :D
Nope, Robert doesn’t do a verse on this one. The album is a nice balance of full-on duets, and songs where Alison or Robert take the lead…or basically sing the entire song. This one is a vehicle for Alison. Your sub should should let you know that going in…..IMO…
Led Zep is my favorite band but I don't feel anything with this paring. Sorry, not an Alison fan. I would have pared Robert with any other number of talent singers. I don't see the attraction but he is certainly able to make his own choices.
This was their 2nd collaboration project. The first (Raising Sand) was back in 2009? and won multiple grammies. That's probably one reason why they tried it again.
You are the kind of fan he wants to get away from. You would have him sing Stairway and Kashmir his entire life and strut around like he is still 22, and he wants to grow as an artist.
@Neal M - You are pretty bold with your assumptions. Actually, my favorite Led Zep song is "I'm Gonna Crawl," not a bare chest struting song by any imagination. I feel they (Alison & Robert) sound terrible together. I'm hoping Robert moves on and he collaborates with other artists.

Gone Gone Gone is a great duet they did from 2009 and won a Grammy for it.

He does the lead on most of their songs and she harmonizes with him.
He is being a good collaborator, and letting her have one.

The queen of blue grass music, collides with Robert Plant, and I think they found, the Stairway to Heaven.
They have many collaborations! You need to hear more!
I loved seeing them at a concert where they performed.
Everything’s better with Allison Krause. ❤️
Thank you 😊 Lance and Harri

Thank you, I really liked the album, them taking turs and collaborating.
This is part of a 3 song vid, robert did the first one then both so check out the whole video you will I
Enjoy it
Hi Mr. Harri, Krauss, rhymes with House.. I love her.. ♠W.G.
I've seen this on TV. Great performance. She has a Angelica voice and looks. Now that I've watched this it was a different song I saw them perform but this is really 🔥. I think they paired up nicely but yes I thought Robert was going to do more too
Krauss is actually pronounced to rhyme with “house”

Kit Carson's grave is in a small plot next door.
You have winner hear brother Harri...you finally found something I've never heard! Thanks
Loved it!
Love that Acoustic Bass!
"stand your Ground"!

Such different backgrounds, it should not work, but they are brilliant together
Listen to Rich Woman. They sing this song together beautifully!
I think you should study up on plant and krause before passing any judgment.
as i remember the album is pretty evenly split between robert lead, allison lead, and duets.
Harri B and commenters, if you want to hear two great Robert Plant songs after Led Zeppelin check out "Big Log" and "In The Mood."
I always considered Allison as more blues than country - probably an error on my part, but her voice just feels more like that :D is it heresy to think blues is a mix between jazz and country? :D
No harri you have to try her with union Station
Plant blew out his voice awhile ago

I thought this was a real groove.

How about his pairing with Patty Griffin?
@@w.geoffreyspaulding6588 or Beth Hart, Bonnie Ryatt, etc.
