Man, that was special! I've never heard this song before. You're gonna love "Killing The Blues." A great duet with Robert Plant and Allison Krauss. Trust me on this
Notice how almost every in the band smiles while they play during this song. They know what perfection is in her voice. I have loved her music for a long time, and adding the dynamic Mr. Plant and it is music to my ears:)
That’s what is really cool about Alison- she is queen of everything bluegrass, but she can kick ass on any genre, and she’s cool enough to do an album of duets with Mr Led Zep!
Their collaboration was called one of the most unusual collaborations. Robert Plant is a genius. Allison's talent transcends genres. I have never heard this particular song. I do love it. Thank you P.J.
Robert Plant and Alison Krauss’s first album Raising Sand. He said she had to teach him how to sing without using his Rock n Roll Voice. He also said he heard her at a festival and wanted to know who she was because he liked her voice and liked what she played which he didn’t know what a fiddle was lol. She has done so many song collaborations. But that album won them a Grammy. Have to wait and see about this one but it’s well on its way to being considered.
What a beautiful blend of percussion, strings and the most beautiful voice on the planet! And some pretty great backup vocal too. So pleasing and easy to listen to. Good thing it’s on digits, I could wear out a record or tape with this on it.
I am aware that these two artists have collaborated on some songs but not familiar with them. I'm more into Alison's work silo or with Union Station. Loved this song and your reaction.
Why collaborations like this? because they sometimes produce the most amazing results -like this song! I love the arrangement on this, the guitar playing, her voice, everything. I think I will be looking up the album this came off. You've been busy again, now I gotta play catch up. I've been off on the other side of UA-cam, listening to old Pink Floyd the past few days. This was a good reason to pop out for a while. Thank you for sharing this. I am in love!
What a great old song. Reminds me of the WIllie Nelson qoute. "We are the same. There is no difference anywhere in the world. People are people. They laugh, cry, feel, and love, and music seems to be the commons denomination that brings us all together. Music cuts through all boundaries and goes right to the soul.” Ronnie Dunn ( Brooks and Dunn) on his solo release " We all bleed Red' shows that emotion. - Willie Nelson
@@DjPjrocReacts911 Your sending me down rabbit holes. I just found that Allen Toussaint wrote Glen Campbell's hit " Southern Nights". So now I have listened to 2 great songs from this songwriter.
I love Allison Crouses voice. I do believe she could sing the alphabet and make it amazing. That's a song I've not heard before, but I really like it. She and Robert Plant are amazing together. I was thinking the other day that you might enjoy B.J. Thomas. My favorite was "Rock and Roll Lullaby ". It's just a thought. Thanks for a great reaction. 🥰
Allison has such a delightful voice. I love her duets with other artists. My two favorite duets…How’s The World Treating You with James Taylor. And Make The World Go Away with Jamie Johnson.
This is off the chain. Along comes Alison Krauss to do some genre bending with Robert Plant of all people. She jumps to this from Bluegrass like she was born to do it. And that voice - she comes as close to our generation’s Emmylou Harris as anyone is going to get. For more genre bending - and I may have mentioned this before; can’t remember at this point - you’ve got to delve into this album called Rhythm & Country Blues. It came out sometime in the ‘90s. Just imagine Vince Gill and Gladys Knignt together on Ain’t Nothing Like The Real Thing. Good Lord, ain’t nothing like that collaboration, let me tell ya… you’ve got George Jones and BB King, two old friends together on Patches, Sam Moore and Conway Twitty on a version of Rainy Night In Georgia that was enough to wake Brook Benton up… It goes on and on. See if you can dig some of that up.
There was a funny story behind this collaboration. Allison said in an interview that she received a call on the phone at 2 AM. She had just had a baby and the call had woke the baby. She answered the phone and asked who the heck it was that had called this time of the morning. The answer came "this is Robert Plant and I was calling to see if you would like to work with me on some music". She told him I don't care who you are don't ever call here again this time of the morning. Robert hadn't thought about the time difference from England to where she was. I thought it was funny.
If you haven't already you should check out Allison's version of Keith Whitleys When you say nothing at all. Also check out Keith Whitleys version both great
This duo is absolutely unstoppable. The harmony is amazing!

Love for more Allison songs, she is amazing. Voice and her violin when she does both are just beautiful.
Notice how almost every in the band smiles while they play during this song. They know what perfection is in her voice. I have loved her music for a long time, and adding the dynamic Mr. Plant and it is music to my ears:)

Those 2 singing "Black Dog" is wonderful

WOW!!!

Such a great sound from an unlikely-seeming duo! Thanks!
You said the exact thing I thought as I listened to this song...I love these two together! ❤❤❤

Great stuff! Love this song.
Love this. I hope you do more of these two together. Some of the songs Eobert sings a lot more. they even do a few Led Zeppelin songs.
I like this live version better that the CD.
I absolutely love seeing the obvious pleasure all the musicians show doing this! Nice video, my friend!
Just for pleasure - check out Amanda Shires! ua-cam.com/video/3a76qr3_QLI/v-deo.html
Allison has the voice of an Angel. If I was ever given a talent I would want to sing and play music like her🌻
Thank you Dj...been wandering if you listened yet. Allison and Robert have great chemistry.
Those two together are really Easy Listening.
You've just blessed me with my new favorite song. Yessss, TY!
That is Alison's brother Victor on the electric bass. He was very happy his sister met Robert Plant.
Thanks for that info. Ever since I heard the story of her brother loving RP as a kid I wondered if he ever got to meet him. :)

BJ does an awesome version of I’m so lonesome

Both are on my to do (long) list.
You won’t be disappointed!! I am enjoying your channel so much
@lucinda monger Thank you so much for being here, I really appreciate your support
Oh, yeah on those two
Robert Plant, the Great lead singer from Led Zeppelin during his country era
T Bone Burnett is a genius
I wonder what you would have been doing with your time now if you hadn’t discovered all this great music.
Making more music
@ColonialBuckeye I do a little writing
PJ, Please react to the Bluegrass version of Zeppelin’s Black Dog
From Plant and Allison’s first album.

Dan, I promise we will do a duet themed show in the very near future. Your suggestions will be at the top of the list.

I don’t think you can limit Alison to one genre. She can do anything.
Agreed!
Absolutely agree as well!! She is a queen of anything. I have always loved ALL of her music. Could listen to her all day. In fact, I have.
Leeann rimes. On top of the world
If you haven't already you should check out Allison's version of Keith Whitleys When you say nothing at all. Also check out Keith Whitleys version both great
Have you heard Nothin’ from their Raising Sand LP? Not a bad song on that LP
