Based on the number of Finnish matches I get through MyHeritage, it seems that company is very popular with the Finns.
I took that DNA test several months ago. 80.5% East European, 13% Baltic and 6.5% Finnish. I was surprised because all my life have lived in Siberia in Kazakhstan and Russia and did not know that I have such a percentage of Finnish roots :)

I recently did a MyHeritage DNA test. I really wasn't expecting any surprises as a I have a good handle on my ancestry: ~98% from Finland, and the rest from Germany and Sweden(and even these were from lines and had already been established in Finland as holdovers from the Sweden-Russia wars.) Basically, "Made in America, with Finnish parts".
I, however, got a result of 2% Inuit, which my initial impulse was to dismiss as noise. A little reflection though made me wonder if this was Sámi in origin, as my paternal Grandfather's line came from further North in Finland. Then I found a MyHeritage breakdown for a Sámi man, which returned a 7% Inuit result. On top of that, in a video about the Sámi, I ran across a couple of photos of people that could have been of my sister.

Finns will typically see small amounts of Siberian/East Asian in their DNA tests… often it comes up as Inuit or Mesoamerican but it’s just a remnant of our Uralic ancestry. I’ve noticed it’s higher in Eastern Finns, Tornedals, and highest in people with Sami ancestors.

there were huge migrations and deportations during the Soviet Union time (and before too)... I am of very mixed ethnicity, I did the MyHeritage DNA test and found something interesting :)
And I have a question! How to say correctly "I am mixed" (in terms of ethnicity)?

The term "umlaut" can mean two different things.
The first meaning is the name of a phonological process. In that case, no, Finnish does not have umlaut--but what Finnish does have is vowel harmony. As phonological processes, umlaut and vowel harmony are similar except for the fact that in umlaut, the final vowel in the word causes changes in the other vowels, whereas in vowel harmony, the first vowel in the word causes changes in the other vowels in the word.
The second meaning is the name of a diacritc mark. That is, it's the name for two dots over a letter. (The umlaut diacritc should not be confused with the dieresis, which looks exactly the same, but which functions differently.) A letter with an umlaut is obviously pronounced differently than the same letter without an umlaut. As for the ö, yes, it's pronounced the same in both Finnish and German--at least some of the time. The German ö has both a long and a short variety. The short ö is technically described as a rounded lax mid front vowel, whereas the long ö is a rounded tense mid front vowel. Finnish has only the tense version. The German ä and the Finnish ä are not the same. The German ä also has two varieties, an unrounded lax mid front vowel and an unrounded tense mid front vowel. The Finnish ä is a low front vowel. German lacks a low front vowel, but English has it. It's the vowel in the words "black cat."

It's using a different case ending. So Canada = Kanada, Kanadan = Canada's, Kanadasta = from Canada. So the ending is used to indicate various things related to Canada in the same way that in English you might use prepositions or 's for example :)

Oh gosh you're probably right!! In Finnish you can technically use -sta/-stä or -lta/-ltä depending on which country or city you are talking about. I don't know if there is any rule for this and even Finnish people get confused or have to guess if they go to a new town in Finland they're never heard conjugated xD For example: Tampereelta vs Turusta. Vantaalta vs Helsingistä. Same then for Filippiineiltä & Venäjätä vs Suomesta! Majority uses -sta/-stä so I accidentally used that one! But good catch! 👏

You need to use some different companies to see if you get the same results. How are your DNA results used? Are they selling them to third parties?
Yes, they are likely selling your results to third parties, and even if they're not, they're using your results for purposes you wouldn't likely approve of if you knew. When you take one of these DNA tests, you must sign a form which, in the fine print, basically says they can use your data for any and all purposes they wish. Since nobody ever reads the fine print, all customers of these companies are signing away their rights to genetic privacy.
No, MyHeritage does not sell results to third parties.
DNA results statistics can be used for scientific research in an anonymous way mixeed with results of other people, if you tick the box and are willing to allow scientists to have access. So they can improve precision and learn more about genetics.

Why didn't you reveal the results? Most ppl that announce they are doing such a test have no issue revealing the results and you had raised my curiosity. Of course, I understand that you were simply making a commercial video on the company and so weren't doing the test for what I used to see ppl doing the test for (racialist influencers often did it to prove they were white and didn't have Jewish DNA).

They would be similar, of course, but the only siblings who get identical results are identical twins (or other multiple births, such as triplets--provided, of course, that they're identical triplets or whatever multiple it may be).

'Where are you from' is often a loaded question.
People in Finland have asked me this question too many times, sometimes even before asking my name. It is often quite upsetting, to be honest. My ethnicity should not be that important in the 21st century!

I think it will lessen with time, Finland really only started to get more immigrants/foreigners living here in the 90s so people still make a lot of assumptions about where people come from even if they are Finnish.

It was originally used as a slur by the British, but it is not seen as offensive now days, if it was you wouldn't have the New York Yankees play baseball in Yankee stadium. I grew up in the US in Houston Tx and in Texas and in most southern states older southerners will sometimes use it when referring to people from the North in a slightly derogatory way the same as using city slicker but it's not a bad term, or offensive, here in Finland you can even buy a Yankee style bed...lol like I did recently 😂 and yes that is how they are advertised.
There are four different usages for the word "Yankee" in English.
1. People from the U. K., Ireland, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand use it to refer to Americans in general.
2. Americans from Dixie use it to refer to Northerners.
3. Americans outside the Northeast use it to refer to people from the Northeast.
4. Americans outside New England use it to refer to New Englanders.
People who use the term in a broad way should be aware that different Americans will react differently to being called "Yankee."
1. New Englanders and New Yorkers probably won't mind.
2. People from Dixie will probably react negatively or even very negatively.
3. People from the rest of the country will probably be bemused.
