“Birds often cannot recognize windows or mirrors and therefore might hurt themselves. To prevent that from happening, we use UV film stickers on all ÖÖD houses. These stickers reflect ultraviolet light, which is visible to birds, but not visible to the human eye. When light is reflected from the mirror glass birds understand there is an object on their way and change their direction. Our goal has always been to blend into nature without hurting it.” 😊

Nice cabin. Did you check if the one sided mirror worked at night with the lights on inside. So nice to hear spoken Finnish. Haven’t heard much of it since Aiti passed away 12 years ago.
Oh I put a brief photo in the video of exactly that situation! It doesn't work at night so it's good they have curtains!
@KatChatsFinnish Those cabins are very well camouflaged. Almost invisible from a distance. Glad to hear about the bird protection.
*Fancy not knowing how to late a fire? You're betraying how young you are. 😁 I suspect that you're supposed to take the firelighter out of its plastic bag, which will be to stop the flammable contents evaporating. You should close the door really slowly too.
Instead of pasta, you should have had some of the Finnish vegetable soup that I just made and uploaded a vid of. Well, the recipe said it was Finnish. What do you think? 😁
*My mother had to make a fire every morning. You put scrunched up newspapers on first, then sticks, light them and when they were going well you added coal.
I just had a thought. If you walk too far from the cabin, could you find it again or would you be lost in the woods? 😁😁
Yeah...it's always been my dad or other family member lighting the fires in the sauna before. This was the first time the two of us were 100% in charge ourselves xD Yum that does sound delicious! Hahaha I guess that could be a risk! There was a main path leading up that road so you could always follow the path I guess xD
